ra cha cha Well, believe it or not I'm back in Rochester. Packed my things up and left Seattle Saturday and now here I am. Why? I'm trying to figure that out. I missed home and hadn't been very happy for a while. Working evenings while everyone else I knew worked days didnt help at all, it was pretty lonely. Guess it was just time for a change or vacation to think things out. Feels good to be home, I miss Seattle already though. I thought the long drive would give me time to clear my head and make a plan, figure things out- but I'm no where closer to that than when I left. What now? Find a job I guess, think about where I want my life to go. Maybe just take a break from everything and go back to Washington. The guy I was with, Jay, didn't want me to leave, he treated me great and it was hard to leave because the last few weeks had been some of the best that we had, even knowing that I was going to go. Worked out for my job at least, the week I left they got notice that the funding they got to have a child care provider was going to be taken away, they would have had to find a different way to pay me... I dunno, it was at least time to be done with that job.
At any rate, here I am back in NY and the trees look like home. | | Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 | | 10:49 am |
A not so great pic, but you can see the front wall is in and one of the new fenders!!! | | Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 | | 10:43 am |
working from 7 to 11 every day well, more than that actually. i'm spending most the week at work until the weekend cuz the parents are outta town. so far, so good. we survived the first night just fine. a few more to go. i get 3 hours to myself each day. i gotta drive into seattle today though cuz i left my phone charger at jay's over the weekend. it was a fun weekend though- didnt work on the trailer at all though :( no money for it at the moment, but that will change. we took the jeep up off roading in the mountains though, lots of fun! not much else to report, i cant wait to get paid though, i hate feeling broke toward the end of the month- sometimes it feels like i work for nothing, i should really get a second job. | | Friday, June 2nd, 2006 | | 1:28 pm |
hurray for power tools A more recent, but not totally up to date picture of my teardrop trailer! We also have the front wall in and a window on the other side plus a pass through window that will go from the kitchen in the back into the sleeping area. I've already picked out fabric for the curtains :) Last weekend when we left off we were working on the fenders- custom shaped swoopy with a teardrop shaped skirt over the wheels, they're gonna be hot! We need to get a sunroof, some laminate for the floor in the sleeping area, light fixtures, a camping stove and more wood to skin the outside, and foam insulation... off to a good start, but still so much to do. Funding and time are what's keeping it from being totally finished... worth being patient though I guess. Oh! I got vanity plates for my awesome Jeep :) they say MAGGPIE | | Monday, May 8th, 2006 | | 12:23 pm |
sparks are gonna fly! Got to start my tear drop trailer this weekend!!! Totally excited, total fun with some power tools! Life is great. Looks like me and Cyndi found a house to rent w/ Jared when he moves here and that's awesome too! I'm the luckiest gal in the world. | | Sunday, April 9th, 2006 | | 12:34 pm |
jellybeans :) So, it rained and rained and rained yesterday, but the only thing I missed out on was the motorcycle ride, which is fine cuz even my jeep was slipping on some of the slippery hilly roads here. Rafting rocked- the river was a foot higher than last time and much faster- it cut like an hour off the whole trip, higher rapids too. Despite the rain I think I stayed dryer than last time. Can't wait to go again. My tattoo is awesome!!! The guy who did it was supposed to be off at 7pm but stayed to do it because he thought it was a cool idea that he'd never seen before. Started at 7:30pm and was done around 11pm. Simplest idea out of all my tattoos but took the longest- he shaded it so perfect! He wants me to go back for a touch up in a month and maybe add some small shadowing under the jellybeans, which would make it look even more awesome. Good stuff. OUCH! Gotta work today, which is weird cuz I dont usually work Sundays, but starting Tuesday I get a week off. Yay! I can't wait to get my paycheck, I got a 50cent raise and wanna see how it looks :) | | Saturday, April 8th, 2006 | | 10:39 am |
rain or shine Looks like it's gonna be a fun day!
My agenda:
10:30am- Meet up with friends and go to the river
11:30am- Start floating down the river
4:30pm- Go home, change outta wet clothes, take a motorcycle ride into Seattle
5:30pm- Hang out with Jay
6pm- Get new tattoo!
Looks like it's gonna rain, but that's alright! | | Monday, April 3rd, 2006 | | 8:33 am |
Happy April So, it was an interesting weekend. I'm up early today because I start taking my pottery class at BCC this morning, it's going to be fun and I'm really excited. The weekened was interesting, yesterday was my birthday. I got a buncha cool things from my mommy and older sister in the mail, had some people over Friday night and went out to the Old Peculiar Saturday night and yesterday went canoeing. Thursday night I broke up with Mark.. he seemed ok about it until Friday night when I found flowers and chocolate on my windshield.. Saturday he showed up in the morning with coffee and we talked and he wants to still date me but I dunno, I just want to be single for a while. We'll see what happens. Going next weekend to get my Birthday tattoo, Cyndi's gonna get one too as is our friend Jay. That'll be exciting. I have a week off coming up and should be doing some camping with Chris, his girlfriend, Zach, and maybe some other people. Can't wait, I need to get some new hiking boots though. Ummm.. all for now I guess. | | Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 | | 12:58 pm |
smartest ferrets EVER! So, I've been cleaning the apartment this morning (much needed cleaning.. blah!) and since I don't have to work until 3pm I decided to let the ferrets romp about (sometimes doing this can involve a lot of extra cleaning... example- the time that Cyndi had her bag of potting soil out and they found it about 20 minutes before I did) But anyhow, I was cleaning and when I popped my head into my room because I heard a noise and looked to see some new windows opened on my computer (they like to dance on the keyboard, it's fun!) and to my amazement they had put up and away message for me on my AIM! When I looked closer I realized that the message they had put up was 'Quality Lulu and Whiskey time' wow... they are so smart! So keep in mind if you ever get an IM from me and it looks something like "eqryhqgb............3`149h" it was probably one of the ferrets!
It's Cyndi's birthday!!!! Mine's coming up soon too! Ummm... everything else is ok, Connor is doing great now and work is back to normal. I get a week off in April! Hope everyone is well! | | Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 | | 10:14 pm |

present for cyndi loo Alright peoples, my alltime favorite room mate Cyndi's birthday is coming up in March (a while away, yes but I'm sure it'll be here sooner than expected and I wanna do this before there's no time) and for it I would love to get her a gift certificate to go get a massage (trust me, she'll love it) so the way I figure it is that if everyone who wants to throw in $5 or $10 to go towards it that would work out great. I'm gonna go into her work at some point and coherce her friends there to throw some $ in too, but I figured there'd be some of her friends out there that I can reach on here. Soooo... if you know Cyndi (or even if ya dont) and want to throw in some cash for this birthday present to her then drop me a line, lemme know how much $ and when you can get it to me and I'll do the rest, get the gift certificate and make sure your name gets on a card for her. Thanks tons!!!
P.S. Make sure this stays top secret!!! | | Monday, March 6th, 2006 | | 1:07 am |
life in the freakshow aint easy Lulu has a flea :( totally not cool, i picked her up today and she had a big scab and so i looked all over her skin and she had 2 more and then i saw the evil flea she's angry with me.. i gave her and the other two baths and put antibiotic on her bites and sprayed them down with flea stuff. i hope it was just one and it's dead.
the class i was gonna be taking has been cancelled, which really sucks. it was supposed to start tomorrow but not enough people signed up for it. they didnt even tell me until today which makes me angry because i had already gotten supplies for it. all the other classes were at night when i work or didnt have any openings. :( makes me sad
getting back here was terrible... i wont even go into the airline craziness of it all.. just no fun. i'm glad to be back though, work was great today. | | Tuesday, February 21st, 2006 | | 10:58 pm |
i'm leaving on a jet plane... so tomorrow i'll be leaving washington to go back to new york for christmas.
it's been a stressful week- i'm looking forward to the break but i'm sure it's not gonna get everything off my mind. Connor (one of the kids at work) broke his leg and we dont know how, probably from lifting or moving him- he has very fragile bones since he cant walk and uses a wheelchair. He went for surgery today and they said it might have happened like a week ago- he couldn't feel it and we saw absolutely no signs of it until Tuesday morning. I've been feeling terrible about it... maybe it was something I did and if I had done something differently.. that kind of feeling. But Cherylyn (the mom) reassured me that it's happened before and he'll be alright and it could have been anyone, we just dont know. It's been weighing on my mind really heavily, but she says that she still totally trusts me and is glad to have me working with them and stuff. So I'm feeling better and am really hoping he gets out of the hospital before Christmas.
i cant wait for the plane ride- it'll be like 12 hours long but i need the time to myself, it'll be very refreshing. been too long since i've had a day totally to myself. cant wait to see everyone in rochester- if you want to hang out call my cell- 425-802-9636 i lost my old one and that's my new one. | | Friday, February 17th, 2006 | | 4:08 pm |
Friday I go to Rochester for the holidays! For the past two weeks I've been working tons and have more work ahead of me before I leave. Tomorrow night I do my first overnight for work- just me and the three kids, it should be fun but it's going to be a lot. I'll have to take Trevor to preK in the morning, Megan to the dentist and then maybe come here to play with the ferrets (Trevor has been over but not Megan and she's very jealous and it's probably the only just me and her time we'll get) and make sure all of Connor's needs are met. I'm praying he wont have any of his scary seizures where you have to call 911. Work has got me very exhausted as of late, but it's well worth it. Can't wait to visit the kids at Browncroft when I'm in Rochester! Lizzy and me are planning on going to get pedicures. She and Azure won the honor of picking me up at the airport. Went and saw The Squid and the Whale and Narnia with Mark, but were good but definatly liked the first one better. Gonna miss him while I'm home- he said he wont give me my present until I get back cuz he wants to make sure I come back. Silly guy. Think my new years resolution might be to cut back on the coffee.. it isn't gonna be pretty. Gonna run to the Archie McPhee store and the Erotic Bakery now.. fun stuff! Then go hang out with Cyndi's friend Jay who's a general contractor and is gonna help me with my Teardrop Trailer! I plan on starting work on it in January. Sunny days here- chilly but no snow!
Dreaming of a white Christmas. | | Monday, February 6th, 2006 | | 1:56 pm |
naughty?! me?? Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Thursday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In April I stole powersparkles's purse (-30 points). Last Wednesday I put gum in wiredbunny's hair (-12 points). Last Friday I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). In September I didn't flush (-1 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-50 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!
Sincerely, jellybeanmaggie |
At any rate, Juby deserved to have gum put in his hair! Maybe it'll be a musical moldy sandwich... http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1636095.html | | Saturday, January 28th, 2006 | | 12:54 am |
smiles A beautiful weekend in Seattle! The sun was shining and it was a little chilly but not cold enough to stay inside. Saturday I dropped Cyndi off at work, and it was great because it made me get up early to enjoy the sunshine. I had promised Mark I wouldn't bug him because he had to get some homework done, and it took all my self control not to call and wake him up to get outside, but after like an hour he ended up calling me! We went to Lincoln park and took a ferry across the Puget Sound just to enjoy the ride and look at the scenery. Today we were going to go to the Art Museum but Chris called and needed a ride home from the airport, so we wouldn't have had as much time as we wanted so we ended up walking around downtown, hanging out in Pike's Place Market and ducking into little shops. Lots of fun, it was so good to get out and walk around, got to take advantage of the non-rainy/foggy days! Signed up to take a pottery class at BCC in January, I can't wait to start that! Almost done reading a book about the Green River Killer, very scary knowing that it all happened around here and he was just caught recently after about 20 years. Have so many more books on my reading list now, it's exciting. Started working on Lizzy's quilt again, bought new fabrics for it and it's going to be just beautiful. Also, met one of Cyndi's friends who's a general contractor and is going to help me with my teardrop trailer project, I hope to start that in the spring and finish by the end of the summer. Hope everyone is well!
Oh- Kerry, noticed at the video store tonight that they've re-released Eraserhead! Only $20 now instead of $90- what a bargain! Gotta love a video store with it's own David Lynch shelf! | | Thursday, January 19th, 2006 | | 7:00 pm |
yup yup yup Well, I feel I'm officially settled in now. Things have started to take
on a routine and it feels right. Work is going great, I'm really
enjoying what I do and love the kids, they make me smile and brighten
up my days. I drive home now
to my apartment after work and it feels like home. The newness of
everything has worn into a comfortable normal. I like where my life has
gone and where I see it going. It blows my mind to think of how I got
to this and sometimes it doesn't feel real. On clear days I can see snow glowing on the mountaintops now and it makes me feel refreshed.
Mark's doing good, we went to see the movie Capote last night and I
highly recommend it. Very interesting, engaging, and I love the inner
conflict they show. Haven't seen a movie that good in a while. We're
trying to plan a weekend trip to go to the mountains to go snowshoeing.
That'll be lots of fun!
I'll be in Rochester December 23rd until January 2nd, I can't wait!
It'll be so good to see everyone. If you want to hang out let me
know!!!

Jeep!!! So here's a picture of me and my Jeep! Check out the tires! So sexy! Booked my flight home for Christmas today! Can't wait to see everyone there! | | Sunday, January 8th, 2006 | | 3:53 pm |
who are the people in your neighborhood? So, let me take a minute here to talk about our neighbors downstairs. They're friendly people and very ummm.. Mexican. We get to enjoy their mariachi music all times of the day and night and just about every weekend they have a birthday party complete with balloons and hats for one of the members of their large family. They have the most efficient doorbell system out there- someone leaning on their horn parked out in front of our stairs and they've been friendly enough to offer us beers with the labels written in spanish. We're not really sure which of these friendly people actually rents the apartment because there seems to be about 50 people that come and go. At any rate, they have some strange customs and we were lucky enough to capture one in a picture! It looks like they're trying to figure out a way to make extra room in the car for the grown ups to sit. Or perhaps trying to invent an alternative to the carseat. Enjoy! |
