I suppose it would be obvious to state that this Mother's Day has been delivered with an extra dose of bittersweet. I'm doing okay other than being sick and sad. I thought I would share with you a link of Granny on her birthday. It's wobbly and wonky but I asked her a few questions on being 95 years old. You can see here here.

Granny passed away yesterday morning and it has been bittersweet to say the least. You all were so kind and supportive through all my Granny adventures I wanted to let you know. She was admitted to the hospital (against my wishes) on Tuesday morning. Her blood pressure was very low, she had a high fever and her white cell count was low. I sat with her in the emergency room and told her what was going on and did my best to soothe her when she had pain as they couldn't give her anything with her blood pressure so low. She was agitated and felt she had to talk to me so I told her I was going to leave so that she could rest. Hopefully sleep would keep her from thinking about the pain and discomfort. I kissed her forehead and smoothed her hair and told her we would visit here after she was in her new room. (they were waiting for a bed to admit her). We went to visit around 6pm but she was sleeping. We didn't want to wake her so we quietly slipped out the door. Visiting hours weren't until 11am and I spent the morning talking to a friend on the phone. At about 10:45, I hung up and went into the bathroom to brush teeth and hair, put in my shoes and head out. The phone rang as I was about to step out the door and the news was broken to me. She lived a long, long life and I loved her early. My heart aches at the thought of her being alone but I know I did the best I could. Hugs, love and dreams to Grandma, she will be dearly missed.

Yay! April is almost here. March was not a good month for me so here's to something better and more cheery...just wanted you all to know that I still poke around here and that I am thinking of YOU!

jek a-go-go is on the go! between all sorts of projects, crafting ,sewing, visiting and working out, i'm amazed i have time to take pictures! happy week two of 2008!

When I was seventeen I went through a major carrot phase. I was obsessed with carrot sticks and Hidden Valley Ranch dip. Oh so good. I would sit on our living room floor in front of a huge square a newspaper, a paper grocery sack and the carrot peeler. I would peel an entire bag in one sitting while watching Degrassi High. I consumed so many carrots that I actually turned orange...like an Oompa Loompa. Seriously! It took about 4 days of no carrot eating to get back my glow in the dark pale palor. I still love carrots but now I eat them whole and fresh from our garden and I haven't turned orange since!

Busier than busy and I am still so far, far behind on all my duties. Hope you all had a most marvelous week! Happy Hanukkah!
