 I was pretty amazed on Wednesday to still see people lined up at the apple store. Craig has the previous version, and since we got it after May 17, we have the option of exchanging it for the 3G version. The New Orleans area stores are out. I guess I underestimated the power of the iPhone. |
| The 2nd Annual Ferry Night, originally scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday July 26) has been rescheduled to August 10 due to the ferry being docked due to the oil spill on the river. | Persistence paid off. I am now in possession of a 16 gig white iPhone. Some stores got deliveries for Saturday sales. I had to get in line again, but was able to get in and get one before those sold out. As I was being activated I heard the manager say that they had about 15 phones left and about 20 people in line. It was known that there would be high demand for the new phones. Why they don't get more stock in at the release date is beyond me. |
| Due to not paying attention a few weeks ago when booking flights, I fly this morning rather than Monday morning. I noticed the mistake right after I booked the flight, but they wanted $250 to change it (just minutes after!), so I decided since it was my error, I would live with it. It still rots. Craig ended up working the 4th and 5th. So while he if off today, rather than spending time with him, I will be flying across the country. At least I now have status enough with United (the carrier of the week) to get the extra legroom seats. |
| Craig worked today, so I spent the morning catching up on finances and doing a bit of work. Since my flight came in last night just before midnight, I was a bit tired. Dinner was grilled zucchini & ribs in the back yard. We could have walked to the Old Point for happy hour then down the levee for fireworks, but opted instead to relax at home, enjoy each other's company and walk out on the church lawn across the street for the fireworks. It was a nice view. We could see the display from both barges. I resisted my normal urge to photograph everything, which allowed me to simply sit in the grass and watch the display with Craig. Low key, but nice. |
