Long time no see

I have been busy ignoring posting in here and just reading my friends page. Other then Project: Transitions and school I haven't done much other then watch Batman movies and Avatars. The site I get my mangas from posted an interesting new manga today called "No Bra". It is about a guy who moves to Tokyo on his own. He has a roommate moving in with him named Yuki. He finds Yuki asleep infront of his door and she turns out to be very beautiful. They apparently were friends as children. However while she was in the shower her parents called and he found out she "is a guy". They have been calling her a cross dresser and so far they haven't bothered to find out her identity other then she apologized for being weird. That she lives full time as female to everyone and she seems to have a body that would be hard to get without hormones, I am going to hope she is a trans woman until proven otherwise. She seems to have a crush on him and he has a big crush on her that he tries to ignore by just repeating "Shes a guy" all the time. Sadly in an attempt to make her look like a boy he had her hair cut short which she put up with to stay with him. Fortunately she still looked beautiful and girly. He tends to do stupid asshole things so that people know she is a boy. She also dropped out of high school because she had to wear mens uniforms. And after being allowed to go to school as a girl said it was a dream of hers.

Birfday

Whee another year older! And a day of fun stuff to boot. Cold Stone is being difficult at my attempts for a free ice cream for my birthday. Keeps insisting I choose a favorite store and my gender, even though I already had clicked both.
I have kind of wanted to rant about Diablo III so I will since it is my birthday. It will be behind a cut though since I don't think most if anyone on my friendslist plays the game.

Hello from Sunny California! Why is it sunny? Cause all of the smoke blew North to Oregon and Washington! XD
We got into the tiny Charles M Shultz airport yesterday afternoon in Santa Rosa, a mere 15 minutes from Chelsea's house so much more worth it then flying to a big airport. We dropped stuff off at her house and then after a bit, went to Music in the Park. It is a Jazz festival in the middle of town where most of the people seem to come just to booze and talk to others, rather then listening to the music. Still the music was lovely and it was a nice atmosphere to be in. Part way through Music in the Park, Chelsea took us to Powell's. It is a rather large candy store full of all kinds of candy delights. There were a couple of new sour things there that looked worth trying and so I got this make your own giant pixie stick thing, but you fill the tube with your choice of sour powders. I also got a giant sour jawbreaker. Hasn't been sour yet really but I hope it will when I get deeper into it. I should go back there before I leave and get more candies.
Later we are going to San Francisco for the day. So far we don't have much planned out for it other then going to the zoo since it will be free. I have hopes of going to the Conservatory of Flowers which also has tons of butterflies between March 18th and November 2.
And tomorrow will be my 22nd birthday! Yey for aging out of Stonewall Youth! And doing fun stuffs here.
In geeky news, I just found out the other day that they will be making a new Slayers anime series, Slayers Revolution! Wikipedia made it sound like it was just going to be an anime but onemanga posted the first chapter of the manga for it. Here
And last, but certainly most important, Blizzard has announced DIABLO III! Link to website

Puppet Sex
Jun. 30th, 2008 | 12:29 pm
I went to the show Avenue Q last night in Portland with Kit and his high school friends. It was the first Broadway show I have ever been to on or off tour! I feel cultured now after watching the puppet musical. We were about as far back as you could get in the theater, 2nd balcony second to last row, but I managed to see well enough. It was hilarious and was worth going to! I couldn't help but thinking about Puppet!Angel during the production. I bought a "Yeah they're real" Avenue Q shirt afterwards which was expensive but I probably would have regretted not getting anything if I hadn't. Afterwards we went to Applebees for dinner/drinks and I got drunk off an Appletini, a glass of wine, and an amaretto sour. Didn't really have any negative side effects in the morning though.
Vancouver has been fun enough if incredibly hot every now and then. Our plane leaves tomorrow at 2 for California and more fun there. Other then going to the show we went to Kit's friend Sarah's birthday party and went with his mom to a recycled arts fair. We rented a couple of movies to watch, The Onion Movie and Spider Lilies. The former was better then just reading the news articles that the little short skits were based off of. The best part was the Britney Spears parody who is accused of being to sexual in her music. She defends her songs like "Take me from behind" as about how sometimes a friend or even Jesus sneaks up on you. It is about friendship and love. Spider Lilies is a Taiwanese lesbian romance and was adorable and sad. It did have a BJD in it who kinda had a large, supporting role!
Tonight we might shoot off some fireworks.
Also, Kit's friends in Vancouver seem much taller and straighter for the most part, then his friends in Olympia.

Torrid Affair
Jun. 26th, 2008 | 08:24 pm
I now love Torrid. Its a plus size younger women's clothing store chain which has really pretty stuff. I wished I could fit in some of the stuff they sold because they were nice and often seemed cheaper then other stores.
Why do I love Torrid? Because today when we went to Stonewall to finally pay for Gender Odyssey, Heather (the director) told us that the store had clothes that they wanted to donate. Apparently because of their larger clothes and shoe sizes they were a favorite of trans people. The clothes were stuff that they didn't sell because they were slightly broken or something. When Kit and I went to check it out they were really excited to donate to us and said they had four boxes of clothes and accessories worth $3000 dollars for their tax exempt form. They said that we were the ones that they were going to be donating all of their clothes from now on. All the people working there that I met were really nice and they apparently have a lot of queer people there. And to top it off, as one might expect, they were very trans and queer friendly.
When we got home we went through the stuff and found a lot of nice jeans and pants, shirts, some shoes, some bags, and a belt. Lots of things that trans women would probably love when they were coming out despite what flaws they have. I was thinking we might be able to use this as a basis for a clothing exchange this summer. I mentioned the idea when I went back to get a couple of security tags they had missed, taken off and to give them a business card. The clerks there asked that if we do anything like that, we should tell them as most of them have stuff they would love to take to an exchange.
Things are going well for the group.

I know I said I would post pictures but the person with the pictures is taking awhile. I expected that though so oh well. This past few days I haven't done much exciting. The new Nightrunner book came out and I read that and it definitely did not disappoint. Get Smart didn't either. I found out yesterday that I can go see Avenue Q with Kit so now I am going to be spending a few days more then originally planned in Vancouver, WA. My online course started and I am kind of worrying about those and being gone so long but hopefully it can work out. Also went and got our Memorandum of Understanding renewed with Stonewall.
Now a meme I stole from Fiddler
1. Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.
2. See if anybody else responds with "I've done that."
3. Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.
1. Ran a full marathon (26.2 miles)
2. Made a toy/snack for a polar bear
3. Chased a shark.

Greeners for Cupcakes
Jun. 21st, 2008 | 11:56 am
My room is all set up and pretty. I have a couple more decorations to put up but I need some stuff for that. It is nice to have a bed larger then a twin for once. I have been sleeping in till 9 in the mornings which is pretty nice. The window above my bed can be kind of brigh so I am considering eventually maybe putting some curtains over them.
The other week I bought a little jar with the silhouette profile of what looks like a flapper girl. I also got a mixture of seeds of different flowers that are supposed to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. It is my first real attempt to grow anything since pre-school. Yesterday I spotted some little buds popping out of the soil. Hopefully they will grow a decent amount before I leave on the 30th for like 2 weeks.
Goats are adorable. Especially since the goats around here have been coming to the fence for food and pettins.
Three more days until the latest Nightrunner book! I hope it won't disappoint. I am sure it won't. Hee Alec and Seregil luvins never get old.
... I think I gained insight into the mind of neechan.

I did it! I really did it!
Jun. 18th, 2008 | 07:11 pm
I finished moving all of my stuff into the new room! It was a pain in the ass and the place is incredibly messy but I did it. I also got a wifi card for my desktop computer so I can connect to the internet on it and a new power cable for my laptop so I can use it again.
A long time ago Liz said she saw some goats when she was riding the bus by the mall. For awhile next to Target and the mall there was a sign advertising how they went green and were using goats for the grass. I never saw a goat. But today when I was leaving Target, walking back home I saw the goats! There is a bit forested valley between the Target parking lot and road going to Cooper Point. Can't really see in it from road but can if you are walking by. There were a bunch of goats in it! There were two groups of what looked to be about 15 goats. One group was just lying around being lazy while the other chewed on the brush.
Nothing came of the other night.

I'm a real board!
Jun. 10th, 2008 | 08:34 pm
Today was a good day. The morning was a little boring cause I didn't have much to do. I sorta began getting ready to move by getting rid of excess stuff. Other then the trash, I got rid of two large trash bags packed full of clothes. They were some of the stuff others hadn't wanted and given to me which I eventually decided I didn't want for whatever reason, leftover boy clothes that couldn't give to others, and a couple of things that I had bought early transition that no longer interested me as much now. I also donated some old books. They went to the PODS which is more or less an on campus Goodwill, making it a 100 foot walk instead of several mile drive. It should make the move easier.
At about 3:30 I went to the computer lab and printed out 9 copies of our 18 page bylaws. Lots of printing. I needed clips to hold them together so went to the bookstore. I wasn't paying attention and then all of the sudden the person in front of me turned around and it was the girl I liked! Apparently she recognized the rhythm of my heely boots when I walked. We talked for a few minute and she mentioned that she was hungry and might go downtown for food. I had to go downtown anyways and was hungry so after I bought the clips we went to a pizza place. We talked some more while we ate and she asked if I wanted to go walk her doggy with her when her friend brings it up from LA. She also asked if I wanted to go to dinner later but we decided to do it another night since I had busy meetings stuff. She also brought up some good movies on campus today and tomorrow. We might go together to tomorrow's. Portland Pride came up and we might go Sunday. After that I took her with me to Stonewall Youth with me since she was interested in becoming a volunteer. Probably should call her tomorrow.
Tonight we had our first board meeting for Project: Transitions. Makes it feel like we are more of a real organization. I was kinda nervous since as board president I had to lead the meeting. Still the meeting went well and we got stuff done. We even managed to keep it from being to far over the two hour mark, surprising considering how much we covered.

Parties
Jun. 7th, 2008 | 10:44 pm
They are not my thing. Some friends on campus hold queer parties at their apartment and tonight was the end of the year party. Really loud actually kind of good music, cute girls, dancing, booze. Still it held no interest in my. So I stayed for as long as it took me to say hello to everyone I knew, dance with a couple of people, and drink a coke. I don't remember when I got there but it couldn't have been more then 30 minutes, probably less. The parties go from 9-2 and I imagine they couldn't dance all night (though I could be wrong) and after the music it might be more to my interests but I am tired and don't think I could manage it.
Oh well.

Stories from China
Jun. 5th, 2008 | 05:17 pm
I found a link to this on one of the blogs I read. Someone had interviewed survivors and rescuers from the earthquake in China and have made ten comics out of some of the stories. Not funny comics but incredibly powerful, sad comics which probably will go a lot further in making people take notice of the events in China and want to help more then from the news stories.
China 5.12 Earthquake Introduction
Warning these are extremely emotional. Don't read if you don't like the possibility of being sad and start crying.

It is 4:30 AM here. I couldn't fall asleep so I started reading the book Kit let me borrow. That lasted me two whole hours and did not help. So then I started working on my letter to my mom and watching Casino Royale.

Teh Gay
May. 28th, 2008 | 02:57 pm
Last night I went to Jake's, the local gay bar, for Kit's 21st birthday party. I have been 21 almost a year and this is the first time I have gone to a bar to drink. Unfortunately, they only took cash and I had my credit card not my debit so I couldn't get cash out of the ATM. So I borrowed $10 which got me an Amarretto Sour and two jello shots. They were pretty good but didn't really do much of anything. Hanging around was fun though I started getting tired before everyone else I think. I danced a little bit when the music was good and one time a girl came over and asked if I would dance with her since no one else would dance. She flirted some I guess but I didn't think she was interested in me, though others thought otherwise. I later learned she had a boyfriend there and she seemed to flirt with a lot of people.
I think I may just come out to my mom through email. Write a letter explaining I am a lesbian. Letters seem like a popular medium for coming out. I will post the email first.

A Baptism Sounds Good About Now
May. 26th, 2008 | 09:36 pm
My roommate Anya goes to a prayer group and apparently tonight was her turn to host it. I came home and found like 20 people in the living room. I didn't really mind since I didn't need to be out there. They talked about very Evergreener things when I was out there. The place smelled rather nicely of brownies another roommate had just made. However I went out a bit later to make my dinner and they had just broken up so were standing around in groups talking. Then I noticed it. The overwhelmingly strong scent of body odor. Ick hippies.
Yey a new Andromeda Strain TV movie! With some of my favorite actors. It is kind of funny to see an actor playing a Sergeant in Soldier's Girl one day and a General the next.

They seem to have become "Cry at Stupid Stuff" days. Spending time with fun people is a good way to get one's mind off such things though, even when conversation brings up things that upset you earlier.
In Sacramento I bought some little shorts that say CREW on the butt. They are fun and I have been wearing them around the house a lot lately. Plus they are a good excuse to keep my legs shaved.
