i'm in the field for week 2 of 3. my girl packed me the best lunches/snacks! trader joe's green curry vegetables with jasmine rice, wasabi tamari almonds, organic fuji apples (my fav), oranges, organic applesauce, and vanilla bean JoeJoe's cookies!

holy shit, this was a great movie. i love bill maher and i loathe/pity the religious in the way only a person who has been completely intrenched in it could.
really. religion is the cause of many (most) of the bad things in the world, in my opionion. war, bigotry, hatred, terrorism, intolerance, selective ignorance (as is the case with creationists in the US). religion allows people not to think about their own existence.
my children will be named Hitchens, Dawkins, and Maher in that order. :) |

i recently made a discovered that has dramatically changed my life. that discovery is this blog:

i am never going to pay hundreds for glasses again! i've ordered 3 pair of new specs from 2 different websites. i spent about $50 total for the three pairs of glasses, and i am in LOVE with them. GREAT glasses. SO cheap!

during the past couple of weeks i realized that i haven't lived anywhere with a discernible autumn for 9 years. last autumn with fall foliage i experienced was in KS in 1998.
and you know what i'd forgotten?
i love autumn.
really.
don't get me wrong, my idea climate is still 75 degrees and sunny 98% of the time (Los Angeles, i miss you!). but the memory of beautiful trees with red leaves will soothe some of the angst i'm sure i'll feel when it is wet/gray here for four months this winter. |

on our mini-roadtrip this weekend, G and I hit up In-n-Out for lunch on saturday. we walk in, the conversation goes like this:
G: "i'm going to the bathroom, will you order me a #2 with both the burger and the fries monster style?"
Me: bursts into laughter
G: "what? what's wrong?"
Me: "yeah, i'll order you a monster style and see what they make. It's animal style, not monster style! how do you order here when you're alone? do you ask for your burger monster style?"
G: "i don't remember. they've never said anything, the order has always been right. how embarrassing!" |

THE NEW VNV ALBUM IS IN MY HOT LITTLE HANDS! i almost accosted the UPS driver when he arrived in the mailroom at my office. the release date is 4/10, but i preordered with metropolis and they shipped it already. bliss! joy!
i also ordered the new combichrist and and one and those came as well. but new VNV is the big thrill, whee!!!!!!!
today is friday! i decided to say screw professionalism and wore my favorite studded mary janes and plastikwrap top to work today. this is the BEST DAY EVER! |

Yes, it is a real town. Albeit the most pornographic-sounding town I've ever heard of... but still a legitimate town. Can you imagine addressing an envelope to someone who lives there? |
