But this time, this time I’m gonna try anything to just feel better! :) [Jan. 18th, 2006|08:00 am]
[mood | hopeful]
[music |Santana - Just Feel Better (Feat. Steven Tyler Of Aerosmith)]

I learned my lesson and I do make a post about the stunning number of work assignments I received in the past few days, and that job hunting seems to be way more effective after the holiday season. Just in case I disappear again for a little while, you know.
Also it would be nice to move out of the house, if I get my way, and if I get a steady job. This can all potentially interfere with fandom life, and I don't want to drop off of the face of the planet without a word again. (However I'm not very eager to drop off of the face of the planet, so this is just for safety's sake.) :D :D :D

OTOH life can be fun when you have to draw things like this. LOL! Advertising graphic design of doom (it was not my idea, I swear!):

Silly squirrel :) )

Gift Art for [info]lizardspots: Why has no one told me about slash before?! (G) [Jan. 9th, 2006|03:19 pm]
[mood | busy]
[music |Aerosmith - Janie's Got A Gun]

Happy Belated Birthday, [info]lizardspots!
I know it wasn't easy for you - and Soda - recently, hon, but I'd like to believe that these hurt feelings will fade soon. I'm not sure why some people was angry enough to lose their cool, or if there were really so many donators who wouldn't buy arts if not for charity, and the only thing I know certainly is that I gave arts plus a good deal of money to cover their safe shipping, and still [info]art2therescue is one of my best memories. Ever.
And I believe mistakes made with good intention should be discussed without shouting and yelling at each other, but maybe I'm wrong... *sighs* Somehow everytime I poke my head in here there's hate against sockpuppets or charity volunteers or any number of other things... It's a little sad, I think. :(

Anyhow, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, as belatedly as it is, my dear.
Have a wonderful year, and never stop sharing your sparkling talent with us! :))) *hugs*

Shameless art spammage - part two [Jan. 6th, 2006|01:37 am]
[mood | artistic]
[music |Guns 'n' Roses - Cats in the cradle]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that 2006 has started off well! :)
I'd like to say thank you for the birthday greetings back in December. I hope I thanked everyone individually at the time, but I wanted to say it again.

Well, and (better late than never) I wanted to show you this terribly cute story by [info]arionrhod and [info]scribbulus_ink, Boomslang and Bathwater (R rated, Snape/Lupin). It's sweet and OMGSOHOT and heartwarming, and has my all time favorite version of Remus and Severus. It's based on my drawing, Candlelight, and they dedicated it to me, and I really squeed my silly head off over it.! ^_^

And while I'm at this, I'd like to go on to pimp some more. Secret Snupin Santa was a truly awesome exchange, and the first one I participated in. There were loads of great Snupin themed gifts from writings to icon sets, and gosh, I got an incredible gift fic from [info]thetreacletart, Tidings of Little Comfort and Questionable Joy (PG-13 rated, Snape/Lupin, Harry, Draco). Not your average Christmas Fic, so romantic and hilarious and perfect, and if you fancy a really good laugh you should try this. Brilliant. :)

Just one more, okay? I didn't have much time to read recently, but I started to follow [info]hello_hbp because I have absolute trust in the authors, [info]ac1d6urn and [info]sinick. There are only two chapters so far, but they are more than promising, and highly recommended to anyone who wants to fall in love with post-HBP Snarry. Go, ladies! :)

And I came bearing artses! It has been a long time since the last update - there are pictures scattered all over LJ I have yet to post here. The first dose with the smutty stuff was friends only, but here are the not-so-naughty ones. :)))

Various sketches (Leaky!Blaise, Harriet&Ronata, Summary Executions), G-R rated [Oct. 10th, 2005|02:20 am]
[mood | accomplished]
[music |Santa Esmeralda - Don't let me be misunderstood]

No "serious" stuff yet, only a few silly sketches, but I'm working on something, really. Don't give up on me, pls! :)))))

1.
The first sketch is not a new one, but I didn't post the link at the time, so I do now.
Blaise Zabini (G rated) - from [info]the_leaky, in graphorn hide cursebreaker gear. I wanted to try if such a futuristic wear like a leather bodysuit can be designed so that it wouldn't look very out of place in a fantasy setting. :)
Based on this scene.

2.
I blame the second piece on [info]marksykins for writing the story, and [info]underlucius for prompting it. And also on [info]mctabby a bit, because she created the Blame Each Other mini-fest. These ficlets gave back my will to live when I needed a little laugh more than anything, and on the top of everything I bumped into this:
Title: The Winner Takes It All
Pairing: Harry/Neville/Ron (er, sort of)
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Pure crackfic. Plus, disco and virgins. Oh, and more than one Georgia O'Keeffe joke. Don't look at me like that.
Notes: For [info]mctabby's "Blame Each Other" mini-fest, written for [info]underlucius who made me write, "Neville's experiments with the Mimbulus Mimbletonia lead to Harry and Ron becoming Harriet and Ronata, the best double act singers since Abba." Eee, yep. Title from ABBA, naturally. ~2100 words long.

I read it and I knew immediately that I am not supposed to resist such temptation. :)))

HP I-don't-know-what: The Leaky Yearbook [Sep. 11th, 2005|07:32 am]
[mood | jubilant]
[music |B - Love Shack]

Yes, another Super Sekrit Project, another exciting collaboration, and it's about [info]the_leaky again. Eh, it seems that even my surprises start to become kind of predictable... *rolls eyes* :D :D :D
But the LeakyRPG is one year old today, and that's a good reason for any addicted reader to celebrate. ;)

The Leaky Yearbook

is a portrait collection of the Leaky's characters. The site is still incomplete, and we want to continue it - we are only about halfway done now. We started it at the beginning of the year, and it's a team work of
[info]artimusdin
[info]doomandnachos
[info]karasu_hime
[info]khames
[info]lizardspots
[info]werewolfboi
and me. It was SO thrilling to work with them all! &hearts
(That said, I have a new found respect for webdesigners. It's too complicated job for a simple mind like mine.. *falls over*) ;D

HP Sketch: Mctabby's Summary Executions 2005, G [Aug. 25th, 2005|03:25 am]
[mood | amused]
[music |B-52'S - LOVE SHACK]

Hi, it's just me, abusing an innocent note block, really...
So, have you seen [info]mctabby's Greatest Hits?
OMG I'm SO going to read all the previous Summary posts - as soon as I am sure that I've fully recovered from this one... :D :D :D
Um. Don't expect anything sophisticated, these are only minimalistic one minute sketches, but it's hard to resist "creative" urges when most of these summaries are beyond brilliant. ;)

And now I can't wait the next book to be released...

Geez, I guess that a LOT of shippers have a field day. Even me *clings happily to her Snupin, among others* Oh, the wonderful stories I can see in my mind's eye! :)))

HP Art: I love him, Sirius! (G) [Jul. 9th, 2005|12:24 am]
[mood | giddy]
[music |Uncle Cracker - Follow Me]

Title: I love him, Sirius!
Rating: G
Characters: Harry, Sirius

Notes: Do you know Frances Potter's novel-length fic, Resolution? I suspect that a lot of you do. Anyway, it's a breathtaking Harry/Draco story *PIMP*, and my dear H/D obsessed friend got me read it some time ago, and I got totally hooked on it. So when a new chapter was written and Frances asked around for volunteers, my hand went up of its own accord immediately. :)
This is an illustration for chapter 10, featuring a rather agitated Harry, and his godfather, who failed to tell something important about Harry's secret paramour, standing outside the fence of Malfoy Manor.
Another picture I was glad to have the chance to draw :)))

London [Jul. 7th, 2005|08:49 pm]
[mood | numb]
[music |U2 - Bloody sunday]

Christ, I've just heard the news... and I am horrified to see the the damage and blood. Again. And I just CAN'T UNDERSTAND how could it happen. Pointless deaths, this time in London, without ultimatum - not that an announced war is any better. :(
Why is it that it requires the combined efforts of whole continents to even try to help, but a handful of maniacs can destroy so much lives, can paralyze an entire city, can harm the reputation of a world religion. Can put fear in people's hearts. It's beyond my mind to understand...
I have no idea how many of the friendly smiles all around LiveJournal belong to Londoners. I have no idea what to say - or if I can DO anything apart from worrying and feeling with you... If I can, let me help.

HPArt: Past midnight (Harry/Severus) G rated; various Leaky sketches [Jun. 25th, 2005|11:01 pm]
[mood | surprised]
[music |Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - King Of Swing]

Er... I found a picture. In a sketchbook which I presumed to be empty. I really need to learn to keep my stuff organised a little bit... >_<
Anyhow:

Title: Past midnight
Pairing: Harry/Severus
Rating: G
Notes: The entire scene was [info]schtroumph_c's idea actually, so I don't know very much about the background story, but the point is that Severus and Harry got stuck with a bunch of Muggles because of a big storm, and they can't use magic. There was a fight probably, they are kind of injured. And Severus lent his own Weasley jumper to Harry. :)
Not a slashy picture at all, it's about tiredness and protectivness and being in the wrong place in the wrong time. Dedicated to [info]schtroumph_c, of course :)

Five Songs Meme [Jun. 23rd, 2005|01:57 am]
[mood | on caffeine high]
[music |Jamiroquai - Too Young To Die]

Instructions:
List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter
what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're
any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post
these instructions, the artist, and the song in your blog along with
your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're
listening to.

[info]khames tagged me, oh dear. :))))
But I don't think I have anything from this millennium... at least not much. So, brace yourself, there will be old stuff. And basicly a little bit from everything. I don't think that there's any point in posting pop and rock "big names" I usually listen to, so I tried to keep it not-quite-mainstream :)

I'd start the list with "Origin of love" but I guess everybody knows it already, so instead:
Anthony Warlow - I am what I am (from La Cage Aux Folles - album: Centre Stage)
Yeah, it's a show tune, sorry! LOL. This is my personal fight song, so to speak - now if I could just live by its advice... *g* I must confess that I have a taste for musical theater scores. Plus I am madly in love with Anthony Warlow's voice for years, and with his truly impressive ability to sing anything from opera to swing to country. Well, yet another amazingly talented Australian :D

Bobby McFerrin - From me to you (album: Spontaneous Inventions)
Jazz singer, composer and much, much more. He makes impossible things with his voice. I must admit that a big part of his music is too... um, complicated for me, but this one is easy to understand, isn't it? ;) I can listen to it on a loop for hours. And really, the man is a genius - more than that, he is a genius who doesn't take himself too seriously, who likes to play, and that's priceless. Oh well, I can't resist: Beverly Hills blues with Robin Williams :)))

Solaris - Wargames (album: Nostradamus - Book of Prophecies)
The Hungarian legend of symphonic progressive rock. Just like Bobby McFerrin, they are a little too sophisticated for a "bear of very little brain" - like me -, so this is probably one of their more commercial pieces because I love it *g* Solaris and Jethro Tull are the only (so called) prog-rock bands I know a little about, though. Mostly I stay on the popular side with Era, Enigma and Deep Forest...

Tito and Tarantula - After Dark (album: From Dusk Till Dawn soundtrack)
And let's have a touch of sensuality. I guess this song is rather widely known. I am not entirely sure about the movie, but this song is... aaaaargh. Diabolical, and dirty, and animalistic, and dead sexy - with our without that dance scene of Salma Hayek from the movie :)
I have a knack for movie soundtracks, and this is one of the very best film songs IMHO.

Fool Moon - Call me Al (studio demo)
Fool Moon is our young and merry acapella vocalband, and their cover of Paul Simon's song is one of my "cheer-up songs". I am quite fond of the original one as well, by the way :D

BONUS:
Katona Klári - Titkos szobák szerelme (Love of secret rooms)
I didn't want to put songs with Hungarian lyrics in the main list, but I can't resist to include this one somehow. At the moment it is the leading number of my own fictive HP Soundtrack - it's my Angsty H/D song now :)))
If your heart is strong enough you can find a (very!) rough translation behind the cut. I made it. You were warned. *hides* :)

I don't know whether any of you are inclined to do this meme, but... let's see!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [info]karasu_hime!!!
Karasu, my dear, you are a treasure of this fandom, and I am happy to know you. Your art is cheerful, and soulful, and graceful, and full of warmth, full of love, and let's not forget Teh Sexiness! You have a gorgeous style of your own, have a great sense of characterization, and more energy than 5 other fan together. *g* But also you have a heart of pure gold, you are a truly generous friend, and you have a good word, a smile, or caring concern for everyone who needs it.
Whatever you wish for on your special day, may each of your wishes come true!

Many people will walk in
and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave
footprints in your heart.

FanArt: Good Omens chibis, G rated [May. 30th, 2005|01:51 am]
[mood | giddy]
[music |The Phantom of the Opera - Masquerade]

Today was Child's Day here, and my dad went to the tiny grocery store nearby and asked the saleslady for something for his "little ones". Finally he got a little bottle of Kalinka vodka for my baby sister and rum for me. Well yes, it's great to know that no matter how big girl you are, you never stop being your parents' little one *grins*
Also we watched The Phantom of the Opera in the evening, which was even better than I expected. I mean it was totally awesome, and Gerard Butler's voice reduced me to a puddle of Ildi-goo. With goosebumps... Geez. :)

Er, and in the name of Child's Day I tried something new - and drew chibis...! ^_^;
I guess it's very far from what it's supposed to look like, but probably it'll do as a first attempt. Anyhow, I wanted to draw Good Omens fanart for a long while, so here we go :)))

HPArt: A Kiss Is Just a Kiss, Marcus/Oliver, PG rated [Apr. 3rd, 2005|03:38 pm]
[mood | okay]
[music |Tom Jones - Kiss]

Title: A Kiss Is Just a Kiss
Pairing: Marcus Flint/Oliver Wood
Rating: PG (or idunno, mess this up every time...)
Notes: Commission, based on this scene of [info]the_leaky. This is [info]deblovesdragon's good-bye gift to [info]ellensmithee.

Please don't use it without her prior definite permission!

I must admit that they (Deb and Ellen) played together the most thrilling Marcus/Oliver, really, and managed to win me over from someone who never considered the pairing before to someone who was rooting for the Quiddich Captains wholeheartedly. Thank you ladies!
I already miss you and your characters, Ellen... :(
