Haunted Graphics Tutorial #1
Since i've been kinda lucky with this style I decided to show everybody how to make it

This is my first tutorial so don't hate me if it confuses you. You must have basic knowledge of Paint Shop pro.

I think you might be able to do most of it on photoshop,but I haven't tried it so i'm not sure.

This Icon was made with Paint Shop Pro 9

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Start with a base that's 100x100 Pixels
(I used this one of Kelly Clarkson)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Sharpen the base,duplicate two times,desaturate both,set the first layer ( the middle one) to Multiply 70% and the second layer to softlight 100%,merge all
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Go to Adjust - Photofix- Digital camera noice removal change the settings until your satisfied I set the setting to about 11.0
Use the soften tool to soften up the peices that are still choppy See Step
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us use the selection tool to select the section of the Icon with the eyes, copy it and paste it as a new image, go to image - add borders - and give it a 1px white border, then mirror it by clicking Ctrl M
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Copy it and paste it on the base
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Next go to the background layer and delete the left side
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Now select part of the face,and paste it as a new layer, then mirror it, and place it on the left side
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us select one of the eyes from the base image,paste it as a new image, go to image - add borders give it a 3 px white border,then mirror it
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us paste it on the base in the lower left hand corner of the original image right where it goes into the white
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us then add some small text and a few X's and you're done

This is pretty. I shall try to follow your instructions, but am not sure if I do it [*wimpers* I was a bad girl, and have just downloaded gimp- can't afford photoshop, so now I'm like totally lost in it, but will try]. If I use it, I'll let you know.

why don't you try to download a full version of photoshop or paint shop pro on a torrent site

for once inmy life I wanted to have 'legal' stuff, so am trying to learn gimp. I used to have adobe photoshop 5.0 that came with something I bought, but it got lost in my last move. So now I'm stuck with this. Gimp isn't bad but different, and has annoying quirks.

Heey, I really love the avaters.. I'm really sorry i can not speak suck good englisch because i'm from holland, so if there are any mistakes i'm sorry for that :).. I've made one by myself 2 (a avater) I really want it to show it to you .. it's my first and i'm learning it . :).. This is the one .. Image I hope you can see it. I don't know how this works :)..
