Since I know there's a few authors around here, a start-up press is looking for male/male romantic fiction novels, 50k words. Original post is here, text copied below since that entry's friends-locked:

Call for manuscripts.

Small start-up venture seeking manuscripts to publish. Seeking gay male romance novels. Criteria meeting a romance novel:

"..the main plot of a romance novel must revolve around the two people as they develop romantic love for each other and work to build a relationship together. Both the conflict and the climax of the novel should be directly related to that core theme of developing a romantic relationship, although the novel can also contain subplots that do not specifically relate to the main characters' romantic love. Furthermore, a romance novel must have an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending." In addition, the gay romance should have strong characterization, and the pairing male/male. All characters should be completely original. Another large requirement of the novel should be well-written erotic scenes and clever plotting.

Genres of the romance novel are: contemporary romance, historical romance, supernatural romance, romantic suspense, science fiction romance, time-travel romance. These genres are also being sought.

Novel-length should be at or around 50,000 words. Not a strict requirement, but should at least be publishable to market as a novel.

Oh, I keep forgetting to post about this, but BENT Magazine (aka that magazine I co-run) is now listed on Amazon. It's not actually as hard as one might think to get stuff on there, just create a marketplace account, upgrade to premium, and you can list whatever you want. Price is higher than the LULU version, but that's entirely due to Amazon fees. (As in, $3 a purchase Amazon fees.)

So since a couple people have asked me about good yaoi manga, I figured I'd share a list. Sorted by published, though it should all be available on Amazon. Feel free to ask for sub-lists (graphic vs non-graphic, high school romance, adult characters, younger semes, top ten, whatever). ...I'm probably missing some...

Yaoi North (aka, me) is looking for someone to handle content updates for the Yaoi North website. (In other words, I'm too busy to give the site the attention it deserves and thus would like someone to 1) bother me for content as needed and 2) use basic HTML to update the site.)

Required Skills: Knowledge of basic HTML and ability to use an FTP client. Really, it's that simple.

Bonus Skills: (Not at all necessary, but it's a plus if you have any of these) Knowledge of CSS, XHTML, PHP. Graphic Design skills, including use of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent.

Duties: Updating content files with relevant information, either pulled from forum posts, official AN site, or provided by me. Must have regular access to email.

Attendance to Yaoi North or local residency are NOT required. I just need someone who can work on the site from wherever it is they are.

At the moment, this is not a paying position, but freebies may be forthcoming depending on how the year goes.

How to Apply: Send an email to gryvon@yaoinorth.com with your name (obviously), contact information (email is fine), and any relevant experience. Links to sites you've worked on would be helpful. Also, list how involved you'd like to be - in other words, if you just want to use HTML and update text, mention that, but if you're fine playing with CSS or PHP or any of the other Bonus Skills, list those as well.

So Matt and I were discussing the new version of WordPress and the fact that I have a WordPress blog installed and set up and I'm not doing anything with it. I don't really want to clone my LiveJournal, since the personal stuff I post here mostly falls under 'not important' in my mind and the writing's posted to my fiction archive anyways. As we all know, I'm indecisive as fuck and thus, poll time!
