By special request

I have been requested, nay ordered to post something, if only to prove that I still exist.

So what's been going on lately?

At the moment I am on holidays, paid annual leave that I decided to take to help myu boss out (Anyone ever heard of taking a holiday to to do the company a favour?). The bar I work at has been temporarily closed due to some sailors bringing in BYO (idiots). while the bar is closed, the company loses 53 hours p/w of bar work. As a permanent full-time, The boss HAS to make sure I get 38 hours work p/w. Trouble is, that means that some of our casuals miss out, possibly even to the point of having to be fired.

So I took a holiday instead.

On thursday, we loaded up into the car and took a nice long drive out bush to Narrogin (a regional city in the wheat-belt region). There is no way we would EVER buy a house in Rockingham (Or anywhere in the metro area) so we are starting to investigate the various country areas to find the place that is just "us".

Perthites on my list, you think the rental situation in the metro region is bad, in the Williams/Narrogin/Wagin region there are NO rentals AT ALL. Bloody mines, Boddington is about to put a gold mine to work, so the bloody miners have been buying up. Mines, I am so bloody sick of them. Expect another quiet little regional centre to become as pricey to live as Kalgoorlie

Our next area of investigation is the Margeret River region and then up to Dongara/Geraldton

For those who have been checking such things, my collection of demotivators has hit the 700 mark. Thats right, I am sad enough that I have made 700 motivational posters so far...

Here's the rest

Cheers

Motivational Posters

I have been making DEmotivational posters lately...

LOTS of them. I could bore you all to tears by posting one or two a day in bandwidth-clogging inanity, but instead I will give you a link to the collection I have made so far.

You may have even seen one or two in circulation already.

Note: I originally started posting in the thread under an "anonymous" tag, until I worked out how to get a name in the posts

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME

Stolen from [info]klaproth_1

Why not, can't think of anything else to post.
- Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.
- See if anybody else responds with "I've done that." If they have, you need to add another!(2.b., 2.c., etc...)
- Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.

1) Been shot in the arm whilst swimming with a dolphin
2) Been thrown out of an "All you can eat" buffet for eating too much
3) rehabilitate an injured wedge-tailed eagle to full health and release it

Finally, after 18 bloody years

The first time I ever saw SCA Heavy combat was back when I was 12 years old. A few fighters from Adelaide came up to do demos at all the country shows.

Ever since the day I saw two grown men in armour clubbing each other like harp seals I knew I wanted to do that.

Today, I FINALLY got the chance to do so and it was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be. Now I only have to learn to improve my accuracy, stop pulling my blows, and be a little more aggressive in defence and I am good to go...

Oh and of course there is that little niggling detai8l of getting out of loaner gear and into my own armour, but I am slowly getting there too!

One for the wrestling fans

Anyone on this list enjoy pro-wrestling?

If so, you may find this intersting. The vid is a promo for the up and coming "AAW Code Red"

The show is this Saturday and having seen these guys perform before, you will get a great show.
Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets start at $10

Mike Barnett Sports Stadium
Dixon Road, Rockingham

This is an unsolicited message, I posted it because I like the group. The fact that the guy who used to play "Jethro" in my old comic "Shirt Ninja", is involved is hardly a factor ;)

GTA IV

Got my copy of GTA IV for the Xbox-360 yesterday.

So far it has impressed me, mainly with those little quirky touches that Rockstar loves to use. But once again we have hit a snag that has irked me...

A mission-specific, can't-progress-any-further-in-the-game, fucking section-race...

GRAARGH...

The truth is out

Yesterday was Gen's and my 10th wedding anniversary. To celebrate I had organised a surprise second wedding/renewal of vows with family and friends. My folks came across from SA and we had freinds from up North come down for it as well.

My friends and I had been working on this for almost a year completely under her nose. Using the pretence of another friend's engagement, we managed to tailor this wedding to Gen's own wishes from the style of bride/bridesmaids' dresses through to the cake etc.

And all under her nose without her being aware.

She arrived at the venue in an MG roadster driven by a friend's father, and walked in expecteing that she was simply attending a formal event for someone else. The look on her face when she saw our family and closest frineds inside as she walked in and had a veil put on was absolutely brilliant.

Who says romance is dead?

This could explain a few things

You are 72% 4chan material.

You're an average 4channer - far from being a newfag, with plenty of knowledge of our subculture and various memes, and the potential to be downright hilarious at times. Yet you've managed to keep a few shreds of your sanity, and aren't the out-of-hand Anonymous that makes it to those news reports. In other words, you are the best kind of 4channer.

How 4chan are you?

On a lighter note, I am getting a lot better. Still not overly comfortable in dealing with the great unwashed, but I can tolerate the shops ok now.

Big event on Saturday, will tell you all about it afterwards

This cheered me up a little.

Not being a huge fan of rap, it takes something a little different to spark my interest. Something like a neo-victorian themed rap from a pith-hat wearing gentleman and his phonograph spinning butler rapping about tea really.

Black Dog

And the dog bites me once again...

My boss says the company has a policy and people in place to help with this so I will just have to see. Of course his first response was:
"Your job is not THAT hard, what do you have to be stressed about?"

Thankfully one of my work colleagues who helped me through my last big downer has expalined to him that there is a difference.

And I finally fessed up to my wife about it. I feel like such an asshole for dumping it on her, but I can't handle "Get out of your stupid moods" any more...

They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.

Nostalgia Time

Anyone remember this game...?

If I could have one wish fulfilled as a gamer, it would be to see the entire series ported across for Xbox360/PS3 and new versions made using the machine's full capabilities.

I for one loved ALL the strike games (even Urban Strike) and was saddened when they stopped being made.

Hell I used to flash up Desert Strike on the Megadrive just before I started doing my homework on a school night as the intro music would get me pumped ;)

Your Ten Most Hated Movies...

The Rules, this is not based on critics reviews or quality, moreso the films you personally despise to the point of rage if watched. Preferably movies you have had to sit (At least Partly) through...

Here we go

10) Fast and Furious - Tokyo Drift - This film is a Weeabo's wet-dream. Incessant bombardment of Japanese plot-culture, a razor-thin script, ridiculously cliched characterisation and poor acting make this film a real stinker.

9) Star Wars Episode I - I lurve Star Wars, grew up on THE trilogy. But Phantom Menace incensed me. nuff said.

8) Clerks - When I was younger, I bought into the whole Kevin Smith thing. But nowadays I would rather swallow sulphuric acid than sit through clerks. Between the incessent whining and Holier-than-thou pop-culture dropping, this movie is just annoying

7) The Pacifier - Vin Diesel trying comedy just doesnt work

6) Sky High - Kurt Russel AND Bruce Cambell where in this turkey and even they couldnt save it

5) Grease - Like most guys between the age of 20-40, I have had to endure the torment of sitting through Grease with a girl I wanted to fuck. Take note, this should be considered a bloody war crime

4) Dirty Dancing - Same again, but more annoying

3) Disney animated movies - None in particular, ALL of them

2) Beyond Borders - Preachy drivel starring Angelina Jolie and seemingly filmed at each village one of her kids come from

1) Rom-Coms - Show me a romantic comedy that I dont find nauseating and I'll show you the road to el-dorado. Neither exist
