So for those who don't know I've been working Hallow-O-Scream this year following the lead of my friends <lj user=falseaidoru> and Fran, going up every weekend to Busch Gardens Williamsburg(formerly the Old Country and Tampa was the Dark Country). It's not bad pay for anyone that's interest, 8.90 an hour. If I do it again next year I'll be going out for Tekkie, for reasons you'll see later on. So for 6 weeks, Friday to Sunday; 5-10, and 2:30 to 11 we proceed to dress in sweaty costumes, paint our faces all ghoulish and try and scare the crap out of people. I'd have written sooner but I thought best to divide it into to parts, the first 3 weeks and the second.
Well what should I start with? The injures/harassment? Our Gretel got crouch grabbed the first night, luckily she has a more covering out fit now. Fran got karate chopped and hit in the face three times(on separate days), Aden got bounced up on, Kristy was cornered at least six times, Catherine was slapped in the face, Alicia was bear grabbed, and Lord only knows what else has happened. I myself was harassed by to Park Op boys. In case you didn't knwo Park Ops from Water Country act as our "Security" telling people not to touch props, or keep moving, help scared people out, stop people with beer and stop them from touching us. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. Almost all of them are kids like 17/18. Would you want to go to some 27 year old looking Army dude and tell him he needed to leave with his beer? Nope. I will say there is this one little blonde girl who tells them all the time flat out to stop if they are doing something wrong. But where was I? Oh so these guys were trying to scare the guest, goofing around and all around ruining my scare vibe. So I told the stage manager they got so pissed and I was all alone with them and they kept talking about it and me so..yeah I was a girl and cried that I was going to quit..but they got fired!
Scares have been pretty nice, I've probably ruined my knee dancing but the at least have given me a chair that the other girl had broken! Argh that made me sooooo angry. Usually I'll rock back and forth, "la, la, la", stroke a chewed foot, follow people, scream, scream for them to stop touching, to leave, to get and then just screaming in their face when they get too close or think its funny to scream at me. I do though tone it down for the little kids, usually just moving closer and staring at them. Luckily though I have been asked to be danced with I have yet to be touched...because I twirl, ignore, and scream at them. I've been called wild, freak, Cinderella, that I must have taken ballet, the grudge girl but mostly it fun because my room is dark and they can't see me!
Oh and FTW, the other day some 20+ guy threw an Expecto Patronus at me! :P
