Salt Lake Film Center -- the Salt Lake Film Center sponsors several film screenings (many of them free) in and around Salt Lake.

Salt Lake City's Main Library is more than a library -- it's a community center. Just about any given day there's something going for free at the library, from SL Film Center film screenings, to political forums, lectures and presentations, to community events. Many of the things that are going on at the library aren't even listed on their events page -- sometimes it's just fun to pop in and see if anything interesting is happening. Even if there aren't any events, this beautiful building is a joy to explore, from the roof top terrace to the 4th floor art gallery to the fun nooks and crannies of the children's library. There's even a coffee shop, deli, and a few small stores to spend some time in.
