I am going to stab Yahoo Groups in its eye, because I really need to be able to post to the Grove list, and it is not posting anything.

Oh yay! Now I am getting emails from other members that were clearly not written three minutes ago.

Piece of shit.

Also! Everyone is doing this thing, so I will too...

Staples, ON

So I was on the Job Bank, looking for jobs (obviously), when I saw this:

Next to Staples, I thought, surely they don't mean... and I clicked on it, and sure enough, the job is in Pickering, next to the Staples.

Fire, Water, Log

Did anyone ever play any variants of Rock, Paper, Scissors? Here are a couple that I can remember from grade 3:

Fire, Water, Log: Water puts out Fire, Fire burns Log, Log floats on Water (I guess it's like paper covering rock).

Monkey, Elephant, Banana: Elephant squishes Monkey, Monkey eats Banana, Banana makes Elephant slip and fall.

Nothing Day #8

Why has it been so cold recently?

Nathan is reapplying for the police, and soon the TTC cops, so that means he has to do his PREP test again, because that thing expires after 6 months, whereas the rest of the testing is still good. So he wants to do some running, and he wants someone to accompany him on his running, and I should probably go running as well, but my uterus does not want to go running. My uterus is content with sitting on the couch and reading things on the internet. And possibly eating chocolate.

In uterus-related news, the Diva Cup is awesome. TMI review. ) I give it four and a half uteruses out of five, only because it took me forever to get one.

That is all.

PSP update!

Check it out, I am updating my LJ from my bedroom using my PSP! I can't believe I hadn't done this yet. Unfortunately, I have nothing to say; jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz.

pee ess. My journal layout is all fucked on this screen.

Ah dammit, I wanted to redo my journal but stupid S2 doesn't have as much of the customisation that I want... I like this theme but want to tweak it, and nothing is working. Perhaps I am incompetent, or perhaps I should just write my own CSS and do it that way... or go back to S1 and use overrides... I should probably do CSS and get more practice with that. Gah.

And I have to convince myself that $15 is worth it for a rename token...

I feel like I have a lot to do, but I don't really, it's just... blah. I must:

- write Bealtaine ritual. (Ritual on May 3rd.)
- wash the Grove's altar cloth? It can join the white load this weekend.
- finish my altar cloth by Sunday night.
- clean living room for [info]erithan42's visit tomorrow (but not the shower)
- I'd like to make some bread.

Ordered some yoga DVDs for me and also got a part of Nathan's anniversary present (fiveyearsomg). I have another part of it already that he knows about. He says that he's getting me one of those outdoor firepits. Oh yeah --

- select outdoor firepit thing that I want before Bealtaine.

My tomato plants decided to go a little wonky on me and I'm unsure if they're going to survive. :( Everything seems to be going really strong and then they decide one day to just keel over and die. The only thing that hasn't done that to me yet is the parsley.

Haha, Deb just got a phone call telling her that she won a trip to Florida. I asked, "Is this a REAL trip, or one of those timeshares in Collingwood trips?" They apparently told her that it was free, but she would have to pay $249 each but could bring a guest. We have also been getting phone calls from 123-456-7890. Do they phone any of you?

In closing, RESCUE PACK, MOTHERFUCKING RESCUE!

Edited to add:
Danika: Lisa! *comes running into room* I found my head!
Me: Uhhh... isn't it right here? *pokes her in the head*
Danika: No! It's right here! *holds out hand and shows me some head of some toy*
Me: So... you don't have a head up here? *pokes her again*
Danika: Yes I do!
Me: So... you have two heads?
Danika: Uh-huh! *runs away*

Nathan's at work, Bill and Deb and the wieners just left for a friend's house for the weekend, and now I'm all alone. I'm kind of sad today, I'm not sure why. The aforementioned friend of theirs says that we shouldn't plant anything until May 24 and I'm a little upset at not thinking about that myself. So now everything is put off for a month; at least the physical labour part of the building of stuff will be completed way ahead of that time.

I'm having a really hard time writing ritual because I'm trying to justify everything to myself over and over again, to make sure that I'm not overlooking something, and to make sure that I'm doing everything for a specific reason. I really hate modifying old rituals for this reason; I wish I could've just started from the beginning. But even still... Maybe I don't know as much as I should know to do this.

Oh well. I have some stuff to do or maybe I can just do nothing tonight and it will be good. Maybe.

Tuesday Gardening and some thoughts on rituals

Tuesday:
make lattice for peas - did this before my previous LJ post! It was significantly faster than building the bean lattice, and it didn't come with a rash, either.
plant scarlet runner bean vine, morning glories, snapdragons, etc. - mostly: snapdragons not done; kids were being wieners (and the snapdragons are theirs) and we created extra projects for ourselves along the way
measure vegetable garden area - sort of: got the measurements, then the sticks marking the space mysteriously disappeared
rake out back garden - Nathan did this
fix Earth Mother shrine and Cailleach's house (again) - pictures below!

I'm happy we got all of this done, and then some! Bill added the picket fences along the patio garden (you can see them in the flower boxes photo) and the bean garden (the one with the lattice from a previous post). The lattice in the bean garden is now attached to the house so it will stop falling over. He also put up a piece of real lattice to block off one of the holes under the fence that animals like to use as some sort of shortcut, then Casey the cat was all confused. Transplanted some plants (hostas?) out of the bean garden into one of the other gardens. Deb and I built a path between the two backyard shrines for easy accessibility without stepping on plants. The Earth Mother and An Cailleach were offered to, since we were poking around their territory; Bríd will be at dinner, because we can't leave her out.

Looked at the Bealtaine 2006 ritual (that we said we would use for this year), realised that I hate it. Well, not hate it so much as, think it's too pretentious and also don't think it's necessarily relevant right now. The way I described it to Nathan is, I wrote it at a time when I was still finding and knowing the gods, but now, I have to live the religion (well, I'm still finding and knowing but... it's difficult to explain. Some of you will know. It's less book and more Look). It needs to be practical, changing. I think that maybe I can keep it somewhat the same, but I have to tone down the focus and add some things that I think need to be included and need to be done.

The aforementioned photos, and some bonus material. )
