Shirts!
I have a new shirt that'll be available at Connecticon and then on the site after I get back.

Hope you guys like it!

Also, I'll update some new sketches and stuff soon. Been pretty busy recently with con stuff and work.

Cartoony goodness

Did this last night and was waiting for more sketches to be done to post it, but I got impatient. More character design sketchiness. It's more loose and cartoony, but I'm liking this one much better.

Pain in my back
Yesterday I slipped on this thing called a pivit and hurt the hell out of my back. It looked sort of like this:

insert wacky cartoon sound effect

I also was messing around with some character design.

I'm still not 100% on the style... I'll be experimenting with it a lot. Anyway. Later guys.

Orest from Hate Song.

Vanderbeam and Mr. Jinx from Starslip Crisis.

VGcats fan art
I know I said I wouldn't post for every little sketch, but this one took me a while, and it more of a finished piece. Some fanart for VGcats.

That's Guitar Hero they are playing on Canti's face.

edit:
here's some wallpaper sizes
1600 x 1200
1280 x 1024

I forgot to put this up last night. I'm gonna try to cluster these things better in the future, so I'm not updating for every little sketch. This got me thinking, does anyone else have a hard time seeing Topher Grace as Venom? I'm leaving judgement until I see the movie, but he's always been the epitome of "scrawny kid" to me. Hell, he would have made a pretty good Peter Parker.

As you have probably guessed at this point, I'm not a heavy LJ user. I have my own site which I use as a mouthpiece and I don't think to use LJ all that often. Outside of the webcomic thing, I usually don't have all that much to say, and when I do, it's often forgotten before I can write it down. Well, I figure if I don't have that much to say, I'll just start posting some sketches. So here's the first stab. Some evil professor-y guy.

Blogging in the Blogosphere with a Blogging Pole
If you checked out the news on Rob and Elliot, you saw that Baron Doomsday has a MySpace account. Although it seems every fictional character and their brother already has one, I assure you, we had planned on this long before the comixpedia article. It'll be a permanent addition to the Robandelliotiverse, and hopefully it will update fairly often with pictures and other crap. All I'm going to say is that I'm not writing it, so I'll leave it up to your imagination who is.

Starformers!
You guys may have already seen this link:
http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/hasbro/news20051107.html

If you haven't, I'll give you a sec to look it over...checked it out? I'll wait... ok, now aside from the fact that this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, it also contains one of the funniest lines I've ever seen.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi was never a fan of flying, but he better get used to it because now he's actually a Jedi starfighter."

They're basically saying "Don't like planes? Fuck you! You are a plane!"

Rassa Frassa.
You'd think that if a new game has a release date of the 14th, you'd be able to get it on, oh, I don't know...the 14th. Does "release" mean release from the shackles of the factory to be prepared for shipping? For every other form of media I can think of, when they say "release date" that usually means you can stop by your local Best Buy or whatever, and pick it up that day. Not the case with games. Here's an idea. Increase all advertised game release dates by one day, and then have it so that you can pick it up on the day it is advertised as being "released". Also, when the release date is the 14th, and you say you'll have it on the 15th, I expect that to mean the morning of the 15th, EBGames. Not "sometime this afternoon". I didn't preorder for sometime this afternoon. All preordering has done for me is guarantee that I can't pick it up when I go to lunch at work, and it's making me drive out of my way and pick it up at night. I've decided that, unless there will be shortages of epic proportions, preordering is for chumps. I guess today I'm a Mario Kart-less chump.

New Design!
A brand spanking new site design, folks! Also a webcam. There will be some more bonus features going up soon (we're shooting for next Friday). It looks like Penny Arcade totally stole my thunder with a new site design of their own. For you web designers out there, it may interest you to know that my site is 100% css converted. Not a table in site. This took some learning because I'd never used css before and I was opened to a whole new world of IE/Firefox incompatibilities. For instance, IE won't let you valign a div. Lame. It makes me glad to see that according to the stats, most of our readers are Firefox users (55%)instead of IE (30%). A smart bunch of readers we've got :) So anyway, test out the site, and let me know what you think.

Shirts 'n stuff.
In case you guys didn't see the new Rob and Elliot shirt design, check it out:

I'm liking it (so much so that I went and photoshopped how it would look on the shirt). And I'd also like to see it as a sticker or something. Maybe in a different color.

Liberal rant )

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

Still alive
Yeah, I'm still alive. Things have been really hectic and I'm still getting used to the "update Livejournal regularly" thing. Halloween is upon us and I'm going to be all up on's this holiday. Shelly and I are going as Elliot and JD from scrubs. I made us some forged name tags and everything. If I get some decent pics, I'll post them later on tonight. I saw The curse of the Were-Rabbit this weekend, and I've gotta say, Nick Park knows how to make an AWESOME "G" movie. He also incredibly good at seeing the big picture in the face of adversity.

Deadcatomobile
This has been slashdotted, so many of you have probably already seen it, but anyway:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/09/14/germany.catfuel.reut/index.html

Now, don't get me wrong, I may have seemed like a cat-hater in the past, but I really do love the little furbags, and have had two of my own that passed on. Nonetheless, I believe that Rainbow and Smokey would have wanted to donate their bodies so that others may drive. Soon we will start measuring distances in dead cats. "How long is your commute?" "Oh, about 10 dead cats". The hip term will be "DCs". "Man, I must have driven 100 DCs yesterday!"

I'm gonna geek out on you for a bit...
Flash 8 came out just the other day. It has blurring and drop shadows now. And blend modes...blend modes!! I felt like I was about to pass out when I saw all the features. We are planning on upgrading at work soon. I can't friggin' wait!

Vacation!
This week has been the first vacation I've taken in about two years. I decided that staying at home and just relaxing was the best choice. Next time, Europe :) I've been taking it as an opportunity to get some of my shit done. I worked on a comic for the hurricane relief webithon thing Brad Guigar is hosting, I worked on the mysterious Frankencomic project with Greg (my part mainly consisting of being in the same room), I got the Rob and Elliot comics done in a (relatively) timely manner, and I've been working on a redesign of the Rob and Elliot site which makes heavy use of css. Getting stuff done feels really good, but a part of me just wants to veg out and play some video games. Speaking of which, my girlfriend got me a new video card for my birthday, and I'll finally be able to play some recent games on my computer. More recent than my Geforce 2 pro would let me, anyway. You guys have any suggestions for PC games that have come out in the last year or so that you found to be awesome? No MMORPGS please, I don't have that kind of time.

Oh, the bandwagon.
I've finally done it... I have crossed the Rubicon and gotten a Live Journal account. You know, because the webcomic, forums, and Boxcar community, just weren't enough. There's no turning back now. Anyway, I figure I can use this place to post things that are too inane for the Rob and Elliot posts and too self-absorbed for a forum. I'll also post the occasional picture from a con. (In all the confusion, only managed to snap two at Otakon) I've got a few friends and acquaintances who use LJ and hopefully it'll help me keep in touch with them better and maybe introduce them all to each other. Also, I'm a little tired of cluttering up the Rob and Elliot main page with my crap. Anyway, I've gotta head out to stand in a DMV line. My liscense expires on Friday, and I'll be damned if I have to retake that test. I'll be sure to post something really inane and pointless again soon.

Here's the pic from Otakon with me and Shadowmaster sitting at the table. For those of you wondering... No, the sluggy prints weren't for sale, just for show.

Here's a sketch I did for a passer-by. It's the logical answer to kosher pickles

A sketch of a guy at the con, The line is from a comic called Shallow Grave, because I'm an unoriginal hack. I didn't take this pic either, the guy who bought it emailed it to me. Thanks guy!
