hello!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello again.... I'm not very good at keeping updated am I? ha ha

Here's the thing, I'm gonna start posting my fan art on my journal rather than just at Physics.
Hopefully it will mean that I can get a bit more feedback and what not.

But before that happens, I really need to make a new layout. I'm thinking white/yellow Billie Piper.
Gonna try and get that sorted tonight and get posting my art as soon as i can.

hello stranger

well once again, i have left my live journal neglected. i've been really busy lately, and only last week finished the mid year exams,
there are a few things that have happened to me, in dot point form:

  • In august i will be seeing the Wombats, live at the Hi-fi bar!!!!
  • I have been selected to be one of the five students in the art commitee they are starting up at school! how cool is that. i get to help organise the exibitions for the students work and the big end of year one for the year 12 as well as all this other stuff (plus, whenever we have meetings i get free food!)
  • i got full marks in my design folio!
  • my love for the mighty boosh has reached new highs (and the possibility of them coming over here when they do their next tour with the Boosh Band, has gotten me through many grumpy days.)

The other day i handed in my art folio, a semester's worth of work, and i'm so nervous about it..... i hope it goes okay.

another thing, i'm going to try and post up some photoshop i've done over the past months.... not to much as i have been quiet busy with my art/media/design foilos.  i also hope to be able to do some more photoshop stuff as i now have my own computer!!! Hooray!

finally i need to make a very late return to physics. i havent been on that sight in forever!!
Hope everyone else is haveing a good old

pip pip!

i greet you today in a rather blurry eyed fashion because i've got a damn cold. my brains feel like they are trying to escape me via my eyes!! AHHH!

i haven't been around much lately i hear you ask? well that is for a few reasons.....

i haven't been on the lovely site Physics lately because i have yet to see any of the new series of Doctor Who and i dont want to come across any spoilers. my dad has been much to busy with work to download the new doctor episodes for me, and i don't want to download and watch them by myself, cause it's something me, my dad and my brother always watch together...... oh well......... *sniff* i'll just have to wait a bit longer.

also, it is because i've got the terrible issue of having howework. it seems as though i've got folios due left right and centre.

on other news, my love for all things Mighty Boosh is ever growing. i really really really love it!! me and my friend ordered twenty boosh badges from england a few weeks ago (we're gonna have ten each) and each day i've been waiting eagerly for their arrival..... but they still haven't gotten here.

hope everything is going lovely for everyone

p.s... no mention of new Who on here, untill i've seen them!!! okay!! hee hee

ello ello ello!

hello lovelies!
i love the holidays!!! except, i've got all this holiday homework hanging over me, but i have instead been watching the Mighty Boosh and Spaced. i'm back to school on monday (blah)

been quiet moody the last week. don't really know why . been avoiding some of my friends.... not sure why.... i think i just need some 'me' time or something and decided not to try and force myself to go out and see them if i didn't really want to. feel a bit guilty about doing it though

met up with my best mate. she'd had a terrible week. Not going to go into details, but it was some romance troubles. so we went out the city for a big shopping trip to take her mind off it. She felt much better at the end of the day.

it was unbelievably windy yesterday and we had no electricity from about 1pm to 7pm. their where 130km winds and stuff, and two people in Melbourne died, one woman was crushed when a brick wall fell on her and a man died when skaffolding fell on him. it's terrible

LOOK AT MY LOVELY NEW LAYOUT!!! thanks to [info]megz33 for teaching me how to put in banners etc, you're a gem

need to vent anger

i haven't posted in a while, and i hate to come back in a negative mood but i need to get something off my chest....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
i've been in such a crappy mood the last couple of days!!! and i'm so sick of it!

I was feeling quiet good about school last week (not something i'm used to) and i had talked myself into a peacefull state, telling my self not to worry about staring my VCE (to those who don't live in Victoria, this is the last two years of school. i think it's the equivilant of A levels in the Uk.... not too sure), that i'm not going to be defined as a person by my score, or spend the next two years locked in my room studying, that there's more to life.....But now i'm stressed again.
All because of essays.... stupid efing essays!!!

Why oh why must my life be dependent on an essay? why does everything boil down to whether or not you can write an essay? i know i'm being dramatic and over the top but i'm grumpy, so everything is dramatic.

Because i do a lot of art subjects, i don't have to worry to much about writting (even thought there is a lot of theory, i can do that well). It's just my english and history classes that i have to do essays in at the moment. I love my history subject, i'm really enjoying it, but the essay is 1, 500 words... i know for people who have been to uni or whatever, that that's nothing. but i've never written even half of that before.
My English one is on Gattaca.... i love the movie, but i'm getting sick of talking about it. even now i'm talking a break from writting up my project on it.
PLUS, i'm stressing out over my folios... and i'm only a month into school

I can't write essays. My brain doesn't work that way. i hate things being so structured

I tried to get the two practice essays done today, which are due early in the week, but i've got a cold!! i'm not kidding, this isn't an excuse, lol, i spent yesterday with a friend who was sick, and now i've got it, and i think i've given it to my mum.(and it's only the start of autumn) My head has been throbbing all day, eyes watering, running nose. definitally not my week. All of these things have lead me to be feeling a bit depressed
ahhhhhh!!! grrrr!!

next time i write, hopefully things will have sorted out.
thanks for listening

waiting for my booky wook

My beautiful mother has just ordered 'My Booky Wook', Russell Brand's autobiograhpy, from amazon for me and i am now eagerly awaiting it's arrival. For some reason, i couldn't find it in any of the book shops over here.

I CAN WAIT!! *grins madly* i'm so excited!!!!!!!!  :-D

on another note, i've banged up another one of my toes, this time on a rock while trying to get my cat to come inside... why don't i just wear shoes??! i'm so stupid. The toe i banged up on the step, still has this nasty bruise on it. Both wounds simply because i don't wear shoes!! If i keep going like this, i'm going to have no toes left in a few years

Stolen Generation Apology

i don't normally talk about politics on my journal, but today is different. Today Prime Minister Kevin Rudd apologised to the Stolen Generation.

I headed down to Federation Square, with my mum and sister, bright and early. Coffee in hands, we sat on the steps and watched as the crowed grew.  By the time Rudd began his speech, televised live from Canberra, onto the big television screens at Fed Square, the crowd was huge.
His speech began. There where cheers and applauding, being there, surrounded by Indiginous and non-Indiginous Australians was amazing, the atmosphere was so emotional.
When clips of the previous Prime Minister, John Howard appeared, who had refused to apologise, a roar of boos filled the air.

Kevin Rudd (excerpt's from speech): As Prime Minister of Australia, I am sorry. On behalf of the Government of Australia, I am sorry. On behalf of the Parliament of Australia, I am sorry.  I offer you this apology without qualification.

We apologise for the hurt, the pain and suffering we the Parliament have caused you by the laws that previous parliaments have enacted.

We apologise for the indignity, the degradation and the humiliation these laws embodied.

We offer this apology to the mothers, the fathers, the brothers, the sisters, the families and the communities whose lives were ripped apart by the actions of successive governments under successive parliaments.

I know that in offering this apology on behalf of the Government and the Parliament, there is nothing I can say today that can take away the pain you have suffered personally.

My proposal is this: if the apology we extend today is expected in the spirit of reconciliation in which it is offered, we can today resolve together that there be a new beginning for Australia.

There was a standing ovation when his speech ended.

The oposition leader, Brendan Nelson, then began his speech..... there was lots of booing and eventualy the whole crowd turned away from the television screen refusing to look at him. On man put it well when his said,  "Fuck off Brendan!!" to which there was a loud cheer.

Read more except's from Rudd's speech here.

Australia Day

Hip Hip Hooray for Australia!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

i had a lovely day with my mums family, eating a lot and a lot of food!
And as a joke, we had gone all out to be over Aussie. Pies and sausage rolls (of course), footy franks. Then on the BBQ we had emu sausages and kangaroo. Then for dessert we had Pavlova! YUM!
and of course, beer to drink!

There was lots of quoting from the 'Bruce' sketch by Monty Python, through out the day, with lots of "Australia, Australia, Australia we love you Amen!"

On the drive back, we managed to catch the last hour of Triple J Hottest 100.  There was only a difference of 13 votes between the song that came first and the one that came second. Number one song of 2007 was 'Knights of Cydonia' by Muse, then second was 'Straight Lines' by Silverchair.
The whole list can be found here.
Ross Noble was also there for quiet a while, and of course was hilarious!

Australia day tomorrow
Australia day tomorrow!! Spending the day with my mum's family, eating lots and lots lovely food!

but i do always feel a bit bad when some of the Aboriginals call tomorrow 'Invasion Day'. i know that that's what happened, the English swanned in and took over, but it's in the past... oh well

Met up with an old friend yesterday. We've been friends since kindergarden and we email all the time, but i hadn't seen her AGES! Silly, cause it's not like we live far away from each other (probably only 5 minutes in the car) but could never seem to find a time that fit us both.

Saw 'The Darjeeling Limited' at the movies the other day and it was hilarious.

LoVe
i'm extremely shippy for Logan & Veronica at the moment. with the return of Veronica Mars to my australian screen, the ship has been fired up again. i truly do think that they are one of the best couple in the history of tv... and that's not just because i think Jason Dohring is extremely hot.

I've just saved a HUGE amount of pictures of the two of them, so the next lot of fan art i do can be expected to contain them.

now i'm desperatly trying to scape up all the change i have so i can get the dvd sets of veronica mars, but i think that might take a while

at the moment my only thoughts are "LoVe, Logan and Veronica, Veronica Mars" etc on loop! lol, i think i need to go find something else to think about

  • Very lazy today, so gonna use dot points
  • Very humid today
  • Today watched 'Good Bye and Good Luck'  and 'Philadelphia Story'
  • New icons made for my journal
  • miss my best mate!!!
  • EXTREMELY grumpy having to return to school soon
  • started reading 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' by George Orwell "Big Brother is watching you!"
  • Very Happy about Veronica Mars returning to australian tv! (it is horribly treated by the channel = constant shiffting of time slots. only returnes at non rating period. stops halfway through series (last time it was after the third episode of a new series). no advertisment of it's return, so i miss two episodes and am still trying to piece together what i have missed...... but it is back, and that's brilliant. i can once again spend an hour watching Jason Dohring.

Russell Brand
i have suddenly developed a huge love for Russell Brand!!  He's not that well known in Australia and the first time i saw him was a few months ago when i watched a show about stephen fry called '50 Not Out' (to celebrate his 50th birthday) and people talked about why he's so wonderful and Russell was on it.

I remember being really interested in the way he spoke, but i didn't really think about him much after that. Then a friend mention him and said she'd been listening to his podcasts for ages and that she got his book. So i decided that i should check him out..... but i didn't get round to it.

Then last week it happened...... i was watching 'Big Fat Quiz Of the Year' on Utube, and the rest as they say is history
