| THE WELCOME POST
Hi, I suppose this is my welcoming entry. If you've stumbled over this journal for whatever reason, I guess I should have some way of greeting people, so this is it.
Erm, let's see now.
This journal is used primarily as an art journal and a fandom journal. Please be warned that you may encounter slash, femmeslash, and even het (though less likely now, but there will be more in the future). Some of my drawings are most definitely not work safe...and some are. If you don't like them, by all means go on your merry way.
"Fandom" is a pretty general word; the most common fandoms you will see on this journal will be: Harry Potter, Samurai Champloo, Petshop of Horrors,House, Death Note, Pirates of the Caribbean,Yami no Matsuei, and anything else that catches my fancy. I slash; it is my nature. If you want a better idea of what fandoms I'm in, or just want something to read, check the post below this one for a random assortment of both fic recs and book recs.
My artwork is located in my scrapbook. It's listed as my "website". There's also a lot of old artwork in my memories from a few years ago.
If you friend me, feel free to leave a comment here, whether to just say hi or even just tell me why. I get very confused when I go to my userinfo and realize, "Hey. There are people watching me!"
My "friending policy" is a bit sporadic, at best. I can't "friend" everyone who "friends" me because I'd be spending all day on livejournal. I do so on a sporadic basis; that is, if you have art or fic I like, I may watch you, or if I think you say something randomly cool, I'll friend you, or if I like your icon on a day that I'm in a wonderful mood, I'll friend you. I don't promise to make sense.

| I studied from like...9 AM to 4 PM today. And then went to the gym till 5:30 to work out until I was going to pass out. SO MOTIVATED.
Now it's late and I can't be motivated to study, when I'll probably benefit from it most. Where did my motivation go? Is it under the bed? Is it in Hugh Jackman's pants? Can I still look?
Clearly, the solution was to draw cock-gobbling.

This kind of started out as a drawing under the category of "pornographic doodles that Frog has lying around from too much bored time in class/in between things/being a stupid pervert." I still have the pencil sketch and I might do a natural media version of it too (ink, gouache, watercolor, etc.) Well, not right now.
All this, and I still can't find the time/motivation to do my ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) big_bang_hd illustrations. | OH GOD PHILOSOPHY.
HOW DO I LOVE YOU AND HATE YOU SO MUCH.
I wrote 14 pages of essays for my exam today. Even if all 14 of those pages sucked, I can't say I didn't try. It was really hard for me not to giggle at the prof when I handed it in because I was just so damn giddy. Also he's a cool middle-aged guy with little man-librarian glasses and a strangely minimal dewlap of a chin. Um. Did I mention that cool professors make me giddy? And kind of strangely stupid? In a weird, academic-fangirl way? Yeah.
I have to make a giant paper fan today. Anyone know how to do that? Urk.
I think I'm going to take a walk. I've been inside all weekend writing essays and studying and working on projects. I have another big one due tomorrow, but I'm confident that I can manage something.
Also, my 3D final has to be made of found objects. I just salvaged the long strip of a band-saw from a dumpster today. And some plastic bamboo. And I will use these things. HOW FOUND IS THAT. YES.
After Thursday (my Indian Art History exam) everything will be awesome. Yes, it'll still be stressful, but the finals I'll be focusing on are things that I'm really excited for. I have a crazy mask-type plan thing for my 3D project, and a weird artist's book for 2D about George Eliot mocking Victorian society.
IT'S COOL. I SWEAR.
I feel like someone has taken one of those little manual eggbeater-type-things, stuck it in my ear, and turned it a bunch of times. My brain feels scrambled.

I've been checking the news every day now--which to some people is pretty commonplace, but didn't set in for me until really this year. I read any new stories on the BBC, and then I read National Geographic for the nature-nut in me, and then whatever else I find links to.
I guess it's important for me to remind myself of the bigger picture outside the "college bubble". It's a really intense wake-up call. I still feel really affected by the things I read to the point where there are often tears. I don't know how to phrase that in a non-awkward way, but...yeah. I don't know...maybe it's a good sign that I'm not desensitized to this sort of thing yet. There were a thousand other really awful news stories today, just like there were yesterday, and there probably will be another thousand more tomorrow.

| Last night I did the "Frog Fails so Hard She Almost Goes Back in Time" thing. I managed to take a chunk out of my nose with PLIERS. Yes. See, I had to take my nosering out for job interviews, and it requires pliers to close up when I put it back in, and...well, I squeezed too hard, lost grip of the ring, and took a tiny little chunk out my nose.

I finished Haruki Murakami's "A Wild Sheep Chase," on the train today. The whole mood of that book kind of sums up how I feel lately. I love his stuff.
(I also wrote some more on the KinkMeme prompt I'm doing. And after I got home, also did a drawing for it. Because I'm being productive. Shhh!)
I'm collecting images for my presentation on the Indian temples at Khajuraho. I haven't actually written the paper yet. I only have a basic idea of what the presentation is going to be about. It should be interesting. I have a strange collection of pictures of these sculptures/carvings having all manners of raunchy sex on a religious temple (which is, in fact, the topic of my presentation).
Meanwhile...
MY ROOM IS AWASH IN SHITTY KOREAN LOVE BALLAD MUSIC.
Now I want to back up and say that I love my room mate. She is pretty much the best room mate I could ask for. We stay out of each other's business, she's very sweet, we both clean together, our room is one of the only ones without any mice, she's pretty quiet, doesn't come home drunk at 3 AM, etc... And I listen to Korean music occasionally. But this is BAD, BAD Korean music. I have a theory that my room mate only has about four songs on her playlist. Because THAT IS ALL I HEAR.
Oh god she's changed to the song. TO A SONG THAT HAS ABOUT FOUR NOTES(see title). REPEATING IN SCALE. AND ABOUT FOUR WORDS. AND EVERYTHING RHYMES. I don't know the language, but I have MEMORIZED this song.

Haruki Murakami is still awesome. Not to be confused with Maki Murakami. I sometimes mix the two up (from when I used to read REALLY bad yaoi. Now I only read SEMI bad yaoi.) That is shameful. I like the former more than the latter, but the latter does porno doujinshi of her own work, which makes me laugh.

| Sometimes, this school is ridiculously hard, and sometimes it's a total joke. More the former than the latter, though. And I feel like that any place will have a little bit of both.
Anyway, due to the latter, I got out of class early-ish today and actually started writing a prompt for the KinkMeme. Oh fandom, you distraction, you.
I have been doing other, non artwork-related stuff, though. I've gotten about halfway through Haruki Murakami's "The Wild Sheep Chase". It's kind of generic for his style of writing (I think "Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" was much better) but I'm still enjoying it.

I've also taken initiative on a few other things...which brings me to this question:
I'm really interested in talking about and creating a discussion forum for things like kink and how it affects my life and the lives of others. Obviously, some people are not comfortable with talking about that sort of thing in public. Subjects included will involve: Kink as a mindset, discussions on masochism/sadism, dealing with being 'weird', kink as it applies to both 'real life' and 'fandom', weird equipment, etc.
I'm giving people the 'opt out' version because, hey, if it isn't your thing, it isn't your thing.

Thank you SO MUCH for deciding to pull an all-nighter the one night I could have gotten sleep. It was SO NICE when you decided that it would be fine to work on your project loudly, starting at TWO IN THE FUCKING MORNING an continuing until JUST NOW.
I can't tell you how HAPPY your procrastination makes me, since I worked extra-hard to make sure that my work would be done early so that I could sleep tonight.
Thank you ESPECIALLY for deciding that it would be fine to work in the room, despite the fact that there are two giant work rooms in our building ALONE. It was very considerate of you.
And then having someone from your class have to come knock on your door to wake you up because you can't do it yourself? Awesome! Especially because they're a morning person.

Someone a few towns over has expressed interest in having me house-sit for them.
They have 2 golden retrievers and a cat.
Dates would be from June 30 through July 14.
Now here's the tough question:
WHAT DO I CHARGE THEM? I don't want to seem too pricy, but I also really need money and don't want to undercharge--especially with caring for two dogs and a cat, cleaning up after them, etc.

| I think I had a really weird dream last night, but I can't remember
Yesterday I went for a couple of long walks with different people, and then sat down with two friends after cooking dinner and watched "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", which is an AMAZING and LONG and also AMAZING Bollywood movie. Everybody CRIES and there are GLAMOUR SHOTS and akladsjflkasdfk I LOVE IT.
Bollywood=everything I could have hoped for, and more. Anyone have any Bollywood movie recommendations?

I like to doodle in my notebook a lot to keep myself awake. These are my Western Philosophy notes and my Indian Art History notes.
