found in the trash at three separate locations

girl at the gun store...this is a very huge picture. the little fake license plate in the display case says GEORGIA and WIDESPREAD PANIC underneath that. there is something painted on her face.."I ♥ ____" i cant read it.
this was found in a box of definitely pre teen age girl belongings. and a lot of birthday cards signed by small children.

some jerk (probably). this one was in a battery operated talking frame. when you push the button it repeats a bunch of "funny" joke phrases. "i can watch football anytime...i'd rather take you shopping."

my favorite. it is definitely cut out of an actual photo and not a magazine or something. this was the only picture left in a photo album i found this morning. i am not sure if it is better to know or to not know why this even exists but....cool.

I like the evil male overlord in the back. And the captured motion. I work at Half Price Books, so most every photo I find is found in a used book. I haven't found one in a few weeks, but this and my previous post were already scanned into my computer. How do we feel about dirty nasty found photos in this community? I have found some NSFW items in the past, nudge nudge. [They involve boobs.]

Another crop of photos I found in the junk shop in Brighton yesterday. Apart from the 'serious sisters' here they are very small prints which only reveal detail when scanned and enlarged.

Somewhere in Africa. Missionaries (?) with pith helmets on a building site.

People washing clothes somewhere in Africa.

British or commonwealth artillery division in the desert somewhere. Maybe north Africa in WW2.

Australian or New Zealand soldiers relaxing by a fortification. Seems to be associated with the photo above. See the man in the background in the fez.

Mystery coastal tropical city. Anybody got any ideas?

not entirely on topic, but if you live in the austin/central texas area there are some very neat old photos to be had...

this saturday the austin history center is hosting a reception for their new exhibit, focusing on the collection of neil douglass, a prominent photographer of austin's past. there will be speakers from two to four, the center will be open from 10 am to 6 pm.
in addition, there will be a photo sale of extras and duplicates from the photo collection for sale at a very reasonable price in the main foyer. being a volunteer there, i spent this morning sorting most of these photographs and there are many, many wonderful prints of austin from the late 1800's to the 1970s and 80s, including shots of the capitol, UT, barton springs, aerials, early downtown and more.
the photo curator there was expressing hesitation about whether anyone would come at all, and i told him i knew of a large resource of people who might just be looking to decorate their homes or simply browse some very neat old photos. i won't be there (i have to work grrr) but rest assured, for those interested in austin history or simply looking for neat old photographs it will prove to be a treasure trove.

At a car boot sale there was a seller there that does house clearances searching through his boxes I found these photos.

On the back of this photo it says " Love from Derek (aged 4 months 3 weeks)"

I don't know Blackpool but going by the lights and the tram I think the above photo is Blackpool.
Don't you just love the pushchair? There doesn't look like there's any roomn for the poor

I went for a dig in the photo bins of an antique/junk shop in Brighton (England). This one is from J. Long's studio in Portsmouth.

R.F. Barnes's studio. New Cross, London.

A forlorn child in what looks like the garden of a 1940s or 50s English council house.

The market place in Freiburg, Germany. 1950s?

A flying boat arriving somewhere hot-looking. Any ideas? The plane appears to be a British-made Short Solent.

Some Edwardian Mums.

Disembarking from a small boat. Date and location unknown. Probably not related to the flying boat picture, because it is printed in a different format.

WW2 bomb damage. The roof in the background is the corner of County Hall which identifies this as part of St Thomas' Hospital in London. This building was not considered worth saving and was demolished.

Yet another picture from the pile I found in the garbage in Crosby, Texas. After asking some of the older residents, it turns out that these two are still married and had their 27th anniversary this past February. They have three daughters, whose pictures were also in the stack.

Written on back: Mike and Terry, with Robert Metro. No date.
