Well, Sweet Geek called - Lucy has a very aggressive cancer in the joints of her leg. :sigh: So...the decision has been made.
She started limping 3 or 4 weeks ago. Before anyone jumps on me, she did NOT appear to be in any kind of pain. She simply wouldn't put weight on the leg. I checked it out, no whimpers or snaps, so I figured she sprained it and watched her. She was losing weight...but she's 8. And a Pyr. She's getting on up there - so I added Moist'n'Meaty, and, this week, a can of Purina Lamb'n'Veggies every night.
She had no appetite last night....but then, she's getting older. I wasn't *that* concerned. Plus, I knew she'd be seeing the vet today.
And now, this. :sigh: At least Sweet Geek will be there when they give her the shot - since I can't get off of work for "just a dog, after all!" :grumble:

and we set sail - oh, wait. Wrong lyrics. :grin: Watched Dr. Horrible again last night - on the TV. Sweet Geek burned it to a DVD, and whoa - it's even better in HD. :lol:
Too bad we're both singing the songs today...:snicker:
Lucy is going to the vet today - she did something to her left rear leg/paw, and we can't figure out what. So, Sweet Geek is taking her in. Then he's talking to the guy about our fences. He's gonna be busy today! (Sweet Geek, I mean, not...the...guy...:lol:)
Didn't sleep last night, so I am over-caffenated at the moment. Fun, fun....
Lots of stuffs going on, but nothing I can report on here. Oh - a word: I LOVE spam-blockers. And kill files. That's all I'm sayin' on *that*. :grin:Current Mood:  exhausted |

I got *2* eggs last night! And they were yummy! :grin: Very tasty...now, to get the other 18 hens to laying....
Have a guy coming out to quote me on repairing my fences. I'm tired of the press gang roaming around. :snicker: Sweet Geek will be meeting him tomorrow; he'll be finishing the pool deck while waiting for him. I need to find a green market umbrella....
Not much else goin' on out here. It's been nice and quiet and peaceful (well, except for when I found the first egg. It wasn't Quiet at All then. :lol:)Current Mood:  happy |

Had a loverly lunch today - Sweet Geek and I hit Entertainmart after, and he bought 4 DVDs....I know what we'll be doing this weekend! :grin:
Kinda slow today - good thing, as I'm tired. Need to try and hit the bed a bit earlier tonight.
No more eggs - at least, not as of 5:30 this morning. I did have 2 very disgruntled hens, though - I don't know if they were getting in the mood or napping, but the looks they gave me...:lol: Hopefully there'll be at least 1 more tonight.
Got to hit the grocery store tonight.....need groceries. Fun stuff!Current Mood: tired |

ETA: I just checked - I got my hens on or about April 14...so the oldest one is about 23 weeks. (They were 4 - 10 weeks old).Current Mood: ecstatic |

my left wrist is swollen and ouchy today - no idea why. I went home, fed everybody, and was in bed by 6:30....asleep by 7 at the latest. :sigh:
I'm trying to get a few Dr. Horrible ringtones for my phone. :grin: I *really* need the "Bad Horse" ringtone Dr. H. has in Act II...I mean, I *really* need it. :snicker:
Did you know that Starbucks has CHOCOLATE whipped cream? I do now...it's Yummy. Especially with chocolate sauce drizzled over it......:mmmmmmmmmmmmmm: Good way to start the day! :grin:

Busy, busy, busy. Sweet Geek didn't get in until almost 8:30 Friday evening - his flight was delayed. Of course, *everyone* had to stay up to greet him...THAT was fun, since we spent Saturday in the Ft. Worth area, and had to leave early-ish.
It was the DCC's Photo Scavenger Hunt. 6 specific topics to get photos of. We got.....4, but only 2 are "worthy" of being turned in. :sigh: He's picky about his work....
Then yesterday...ah, yes, yesterday. Bought the lattice et al to finish the pool deck. Installed the wheelchair lift on Dad's car, and took it off again - his car isn't stout enough for it. :sigh: Need a few more parts to actually install the lattice (we thought we could do it as is...but we need the framing parts. Fun!)
Heart has discovered her ability to jump. The garden fence, I mean. :sigh: Little shit - well, that IS what I bred her for. :lol:
Not much else to report....except I'm tired! :grin:

Sweet Geek should be home a little after I get there - weather/traffic permitting. Think we'll have Rosemary-Garlic chicken to celebrate his homecoming.
Am impatiently awaiting Act III.....I wanna see Dr. Horrible kick some Cpt. Hammer butt! And - just who is "Bad Horse" (the Thoroughbred of Sin)? :grin:
Should be a busy but fun weekend - we have a Photo Scavenger Hunt to do, so...that'll be interesting. Dad is coming out so we can attach the wheelchair lift...and swimming. Always with the Swimming.

finally! The week is finally almost over, Sweet Geek will be home tomorrow....and Dr. Horrible Act II is up! :snicker: Go, go - you Must See it!
I'm impatiently waiting for iTunes to get it, so I can download it and watch it over and over and over again. (Favorite line: "These" shaking fists "are not the Hammer" Capt Hammer goes offscreen; comes back in frame. :whispers: "The Hammer is my p***s!" :shifty eyes: goes offscreen again. :lol:)

In other news, Sweet Geek is still out of town, so no lunch date today. :sob: I have phone service at the house again (it was knocked out sometime yesterday afternoon, due to "weather related issues"...right.). And, I cancelled the 2nd phone line on my cell phone account (FINALLY). The phone is still under contract, so I had to pay the fee ($175!!! OUCH!!!!), but..the contract doesn't end until March 2009...so I only spent about $15 MORE than I would have over time. :sigh: Ah, well - it was the last tie with the abusive ex, so it needed to go.
Speaking of which, I gotta skitter!
