Hi Jess! Glad to see you on LJ. I just ran into a girl on Sunday (1 may 05) who was a math grad student at UCSD, and she was at hike the geek. I told her about you.

Tash parents

Hello
We Tash parents.
Long were not solved, but now we write to you because it is very experienced for our daughter.
For the lived life it never went to a campaign, never carried heavy backpacks, did not live long in tent. It is not known, whether it can sustain 40 days. It seems, that it has decided to prove to herself, that is capable on similar. Natasha obstinate and it is difficult to convince it, to change the opinion. You are the adult and, apparently, skilled enough person, should understand, how it is difficult to go, even for short term, in a campaign with the beginner.
Besides from its explanations clearly, that you are going to go on foot or a self-locking device. Presently to go on foot, together, on the country it is very dangerous also drivers reluctantly take fellow travellers. People became embittered. Especially, historically, has developed so, that in the Asian part of Russia a lot of was condemned., certainly, it is more than good people, but why that come across always bad. Natasha still too young and it does not know all. Therefore it would be desirable, that you still time have considered the plans for holiday.
We have an offer, we invite you, побыть with us in Bashkiria of one-two week. There there live the grandfather and grandmother Natasha, and also it is a lot of relatives. We wished to go to Kama. It is possible to lead week on island, половить a fish. Natasha spoke, that you wish to get acquainted with us. Very much an opportunity. At us small holiday. You with it could reach by train to Tyumen, and further by our machine. We just spoke with the grandmother, they are ready to accept all of us.
The second variant - come to Nizhnevartovsk. It is possible by train from Tomsk. 7-8 hours, and from Каргаска by the steam-ship across Ob, too approximately 7 hours are possible by bus from Tomsk up to Каргаска, somewhere. And there we shall meet you.
Then it will be possible to discuss an opportunity of your trip to Baikal. The language barrier is not terrible, we in fact have a translator - Natasha.
Excuse for English. Translated on www.mail.ru. We send Both of you of a variant. We hope Natasha will explain not clear in the text.
Yours faithfully.

I've added you as a friend. And --- I've moved to LA now; it's final, I'M HERE.

To add me as a friend, click on this button right here: Add this user to your friends list

...or if that doesn't work, to add someone as a friend, go to their UserInfo page (mine is here: http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=faustin ) --- and there's a small blue box with 4 icons in it, the far left one, with the plus sign in it, is the "add this user as a friend" icon. Click on that; it takes you a couple steps thereafter.

I'd like to read more of your writings. "Bodyscape hacker" is an awesome term that I used to aspire to but has fallen into the details of everyday life and parenting. Your writings are very inspirational, I'd appreciate being able to see more. I've already learned some things about running form, and that's just from your comments!

Hike

I'm the Sean who signed up for today's Hike the Geek and then didn't show (until 12:30PM). I got home late last night and set my alarm for 9:15AM, and then forgot to actually turn it on - doh!

So, I hope you guys didn't wait long for me - I was hoping I might run into to you at some point, but I guess since it was a loop I guess I probably didn't - I didn't see any big crowds, and these hikes normally attract 10 or 15 people, right? Today would have been my first (I just moved to LA).

I hope to meet you on a future hike!

Best,

Sean

Howdy...

Found you in [info]john_of_arabia's journal. I found your entry about the Stilwell Road fascinating, and was about to request that you add me to your "friends list" but then....THEN...I saw your entry about Christmas For Cowboys!!!! Then I decided that I would really like to read more! lol (Rocky Mountain Christmas is my #1 nostalgic Christmas album of all time)

My lj tends to be a fair bit toward the boring side, so be warned, but I would really like to take a look at your screened entries. :)

Hey, I saw you defriended me a bit ago, but I miss reading your posts. I know it makes me a voyeur, since we haven't officially met in person and all, but I feel kinship by value-association. Add me back? No offense taken if not.

Ara... I will be in better contact later, right now it's not convenient, I'm in Vladivostok and going into China tomorrow.

Did you go to Agua Fria High School!!!?!?! wow.

I'll friend you now if I don't have any trouble with the computer! :-)

Wow, China. Certainly not a conveinant time, I agree. =)

Yeah, I went to Agua Fria. I wasn't too thrilled about it at the time though.
I also attended Peoria High around the same time. It was Peoria, Agua Fria, then back to Peoria. Long long story.

Agua Fria was interesting because of the mix of people. You had the people from Litchfield Park, the people from Avondale which were mostly hispanic, and then the AF kids. I fit in with none of them, it was great. ;)

I'm not sure why you're in China, but I hope you have fun. =)
