| | Wooooooww! It has been forever! I haven't wrote forever, I got a nudge a while back from Deanna but it seems I never even had a minute to myself. I just finished the book I have been working on it took me about a year!!! I had 56 paintings to do and when sending them to australia (4)paintings at a time it takes about 10 days to get there. It was such a great experience though and I feel so good to be done with it. What is totally crazy is I have just got another book offer which is nuts because I don't advertise. This author has such a fantastic imagination and I know you all would loooove her book. It is so detailed. Well I am off to read everyones journals! ~ | comments: 9 comments or Leave a comment   |

| | Hey Everybody! Thanks for noticing I've been gone Jacey! It has been quite a while it says I haven't posted for over 14weeks!! Yikes! I have been crazy busy (still working on the book) so hard because sometimes I am so not inspired by it, but nice to have money coming in. I miss painting for myself horribly. I have my collectors writing me all the time asking if I have new art being listed soon and I'm like I promise soon!! It makes me sad especially when I feel inspired to work on some new art but not the book. I wish I could find a better balance. I am now going into my 8th month of pregnancy and I really feel I need to crack down and get my art stuff together so when the baby is born I am able to continue with my art career. I miss you all!! | | Just thought I'd update, I've been around alot more now, I have been reading all my friends journals and have been trying to keep up on my commenting. I have posted very much though because everyday its more of the same still working on the paintings for the book and since I'm not "allowed" to show anyone the art becuase it's based on the authors story, I don't have anything to show and it makes me sad. I am only on painting 6 of 36 so I think I'll be busy for a while. However, I do have intervals between when I send out the set of paintings( I send them out in about sets of 3 and then get paid) so I am going to try to make some LJ paintings in between these breaks. I have soo much to do. I have to make some new Originals, I have to update my website since I haven't touched it since March-YIKES! It's all old paintings and old info- it's a top priority. I have to list some of the originals from "500 Fairy Motifs" although I may wait till christmas to do that. I don't know, Hopefully I'll be able to get some of this done! | | I am so frustrated I need to vent-lol. I am working on the next character for this book, I was working on her and she turned out to look like crap so I scrapped it and then I had to redraw a new one only this time I felt very inspired and tried some creative new twists, well I love the way she looks-Only one problem- She dosen't look anything like the first set of charcters I did and they are all one story, so now-you guessed it. I have to start with the same picture ALL OVER AGAIN! LOL! ARRRRRGH! I may post the one I can't use though cause shes's just so cutetsy. I have an awesome sketch I made for ebay only I haven't gotten a chance to color it since I'm in book mode right now- but maybe I'll post the sketch too. I'll keep ya posted! | | I am really trying to get back into the swing of things, I have been off ebay soooo long, I haven't touched my website for months and all the art sites I'm on probably have cobwebs on all my pages from me being gone so long-lol! I have so much to do to catch up! I have offically been working on this new book as the sole illustrator it is due out July 2006. *Very Exciting* I have over 30+ fairy paintings to do for this book so it is very very time consuming. However, I am getting paid quite nicely so there's no complaining here, plus once it comes out it will just be more publicity for me. I have looked at their other already published books on AMAZON and people have had quite nice things to say about them in the reviews so I am hoping it really helps put me out there! I am so excited I just got my 500 Fairy Motiff book and it was really awesome to see the variety of work, I did pick a few favorites though. Hehehe. I have the painting bug today so I think I'm going to sketch a new one for ebay in between waiting for my new assignment for the book project. Well I miss you all and hope your all havin a great day! | | Hey everybody! I missed you all!! I have been one for sooo long it feels like years. I have had alot of projects going on over here which didn't leave me much time for my Ebay paintings (just some quick thrown together ones to keep my name out there)I have recently found out I am pregnant and have been busy spreading the news about this- my husband is so happy as we have really been wanting a second child (hopefully a girl!) I am going to continue on painting and getting caught up with my Ebay paintings too, but the biggest thing right now is I have been asked to be the sole artist for this new worldwide distributed Fairy watercolor book. I need some advice as she wants the originals instead of cd scans and she wants them to be 5". I really don't know what to charge for this as she wants 36 original paintings in all. Any advice any of you may have would be much appreciated as I really want the job, but I don't want to lowball myself either. I miss you all!!!! Because I love working with your art and would love to continue working with it, I would like to suggest that you look into G.I.L.D. I am a proud G.I.L.D. License Holder (for several Artists) and feel it is a fantastic way for you to have better control over the use of your artwork. I also have found that the artists who have signed on with the GILD have received a huge amount of exposure from actual fans (like me) who are willing to pay for a chance to use your art, rather than just flooding your email inbox or snagging your images from your site. It’s an excellent way to get to know who your true fans are, get closer to us, and get the backing of an Organization whose business is Licensing and protecting Artists’ copyrights.
I and many of my friends, online associates and fellow PSP-ers would love to buy your G.I.L.D. License if it were to become available! I really hope you will consider the benefits and opportunities the GILD has to offer. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and please consider my suggestion. I am finished with my most recent piece, a adorable blond little mushroom Fairy with stripety socks and a catipillar friend, but am waiting until Sunday to list it. I was trying to list it on Thursday but my Blankety Blank Computer must have known I was anxious and pretended to have some sort of virus or spywear to detour me! GRRRRR! I have made some stickers of my latest pieces that are oh so cute, I'll post them a little later! Today is Daniel's Birthday (my hubby) so I have to give him the A+ extra special treatment like breakfast in bed or a back massage (something free cause I'm broke) LOL!~ Well, I Hope you all are having a good day so far, I better get the breakfast going! | | Hey I missed you all!!! I just returned from my Bahamas vacation, it was a really great time and I'm sad to return home-lol! Actually though I was a little surprised when I got there how much hurricane destruction there was. When we drove up to our condo it looked like it was in the Ghetto. I guess it was really hard for them to get stuff inported to the island because the usually import from Florida and Florida used alot of the same items for the Hurricane repair. Our condo is on the 6th floor overlooking the ocean and when I stepped outside to our huge 900sq ft balcony it was missing all the guard rails and was a 6 floor drop to cement! Yikes! Our condo was still gorgeous though and we did brave the 6th floor drop to sit on the balcony and enjoy the ocean views. The water was fantastic and I got a great tan! You can't ask for more than that! Oh, now for the hillarious news wich wasn't funny at the time. We were driving back to Chicago from Florida, my cousin who was hopped up on trucker crack and 3 redbulls and driving the morning shift (my husband just drove all night and is a HEAVY sleeper)decided to stop at a rest stop in Georgia (me and dakota were asleep in the back seat) He got out to use the restroom and dakota woke me up and said he had to go potty. I got out and took him to the bathroom and he was like mom I'm going back to the car, I was like OK! He comes running back in and says, "Where's the car!" I ran outside and sure enough the car was gone!!! They left us!!! Daniel(my hubby) wouldn't wake up for at least another 4-5 hrs and my cousin was all cracked out and driving like a speed demon I knew we were doomed! I was hysterical I had no money no phone and was left at a georgia rest stop in my pj bottoms. I begged someone for their cell phone (I couldn't call collect to a cell phone) and to make maters worse I called my hubby's cell and it went straight to voice mail!! To sum it up, I finally got ahold of him and he said they were about 40 min away and Damien (my cousin) had no idea I was even gone and kept talking to me in the car when I wasn't there!!!!! LOL! What a crackhead! LOL! Now that it's all over I find it pretty humorous. I thought you guys might enjoy it. Well.....Time to start the painting machine again...lazy relax time is over! | | I finally got arounbd to scanning my "fairy Queen" painting. The top 2 are the new ones and the bottom one is the digital camera photo. Which do you think looks better? I hope the digital camera picture wasn't affecting my auction (because I think it looked pretty bad) although I couldn't get the scan perfect, I still think it looks better. What do you think. Also now that I got the scan I am wondering if I should change it from a 7 day to a 10 day auction and lower the price but add a reserve? Thanks so much!!! ((((HUGS))))~

| | We are going on vacation for Spring Break!!! Yippe!! Leaving Crappy cold and *snowing Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale Florida and Hopping on the Discovery mini cruise over to the Grand Bahama Island to stay for 7days 6 nights. OOOHH! I cant wait to go! I am so good at planning last minute CHEAP* vacations. I got this whole vacation for my husband me and Dakota all for 780.00 for all three of us! | | OMG! This took me forever! I just finished and did not have time to mess with scanning due to her size, so I had to have a CRAPPY digital camera pic that makes me want to cry! But it gives the idea. I can't even say how much a good scanner can really make a difference in the quality of showing your work! I'll try and change the pic later. | | Hehe! I am such a slacker when it comes to journaling. I go a few weeks here and there without writing and realize I'm slacking off. Although I may not write in my journal I am always keeping up with reading your guys journals so heres some ((HUGS)) to all my friends!............I have been working on a new LARGE painting I think this may be one of my best, and it is taking me freakin forever! I found this exotic looking girl off DEviant ARt's stock photos and I am doing a kind of meditteranean Fairy Queen type painting! It's very Exotic. I am thinking I will probably start this one at $100.00 starting bid or $28.99 and do a reserve. I'm not sure yet, as I don't like how they charge you an arm and a leg to do a reserve. I can't wait to show you all this one! It's so exciting! ~ OH BTW! DEANNA don't you live in the Florida Keys? I am coming out there March 25th I should visit you, I'll stop by Jasmines too!!!Hehe! | | I have been contacted by some fashion designers who are putting on a big fashion show come July and they want to buy the rights to my icon (the one I'm using as this avatar). They said they fell in love with it and really must have it as their logo. Yikes! I am really happy for this but in the same situation, I don't think I can legally let them use it as this was from back in the day when I use to use my mags as photo references. I would hate to have that liability. My problem is I really want to work with them but I'm pretty sure they are dead set on this specific picture. I don't know what to do, but I may just make a new one with my sister as a reference or something like that, but I have to get back to them asap. | | OMG! Has anybody seen the Notebook? You must! It is my new Favorite movie, I watched it two times in a row (it was rented) and then I went out and bought it! It is the most beautifully sad love story-I had tears at the end and I never tear up at movies! Even my Daniel liked it and that is a freakin miracle for a romance! LOL! It was soooooo Good! I'm still sad thinking about it~ Well I'm starting a new painting today I have no idea what it is going to be yet, I still have to look through some poses and find one I like.
