oh joy another survey!

  • Mar. 25th, 2003 at 1:50 AM

1.Your livejournal "user name" & what it means:
There is no high minded meaning to my lj username, it's just two words, "experiment" and "ego" that form a synergistic whole affecting pretentious erudition and exudes a sense of perceived postmodernistic identity. And by perceived, I mean, none. There is no there, there. How postmodern!

2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your livejournal represent who you actually are?
It varies between 0 and 10, depending on how hard I'm willing to yank the chain with my posts.

3. How much about your life do you post to LJ?
Not much, although lately it's been increasing. I don't like posting entire days, because face it, an entire day in my life is boring as hell. I prefer to focus on amusing anecdotes that make great dinner table humor.

4. Is there anything you refuse to post about?
I refuse to post about your grandma, mainly because I don't know her.

5. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
My LJ is only interesting to people who are smart enough to not use number scales to quantify astract values that cannot be quantified. It's also interesting to people with a good sense of ironic wit and the ability to take things with a grain of salt or share my penchant for really acerbic humor.

6. From who/how did you find out about LJ?
Paolo and Claire tipped me off.

7. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you?
Yes. Mister Sinister Frank the Spaniard joined. Mia had one already when I started ragging on her to post more. Hannah got in because of me. I'm sure there're more, but I can't remember.

8. What proportion of your posts are friends only?
Used to be half, now a lot less.

9. What is your favorite interest on LJ?
Avoidance like octopi :D

10. Has anything on LJ ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?
Foo! Information technology does NOT change lives!

11. How often do you respond to/comment on other peoples' journals?
Only when I have something to say that amuses no one but myself. I like to read my own comments rather than actually CONTRIBUTE something to a discussion, duh!

12. Do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals?
This journal is mostly to entertain other people, even if my audience is like, completely mismatched with my content.

13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on lj (or did it to someone else)? I don't get into wars very often, but I have had death threats and explicit invectives about various parts of my anatomy and/or sexuality thrown against me. Mostly because of my knee jerk reactions to Sept. 11 against brainless patriots. I'd link to the thread but it is no longer visible.

14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?
Boy, would I like to!

15. Who are your favorite LJ friend(s) and why?
On the basis of just top friends reading material from people I don't know, [info]bobdole, [info]sssnarlene and [info]tetaaquino are currently tops.

16. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met?
I've been acquainted with [info]compound, [info]crustypandesal, [info]cyanidechild/[info]semisonic, [info]cyberlizard, [info]duckyyy, [info]fatcarfury, [info]freefisheater, [info]hastyteenflick, [info]impetus, [info]indigoish, [info]kince13, [info]kinneygirl, [info]kiteflying, [info]lash, [info]lushlush, [info]planetclaire, [info]soloproject, [info]quirky, rainparade[info]sortes [info]squickyclean, [info]tymeless, and [info]voicesinmyhead before I ran into their ljs but I've also met [info]buddhistbabe, [info]carbootsale[info]denning, rootbeercore, [info]vaguechaos, [info]sassyassnaz and [info]awildflowersoul

I hear [info]ourchair is a fucking asshole, though.

17. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?
[info]sssnarlene and [info]bobdole share my sense of self parody. But I'm only saying that because I secretly want to be them.

18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?
Because I can actually read them and tolerate their lousy sense of paragraph formatting.

19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
No. In the rare exceptions that I do, I add them either because I genuinely like them or because they amuse me like a cockroach squirming as it is flushed down the toilet. The question is, which category do YOU fall under?

20. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?
Because I CAN'T tolerate reading them OR their lousy sense of paragraph formatting.

21. Is your "significant other" on LJ?
Yes. We both keep more than one journal. And please don't say "significant other", it sounds like a schizophrenic thing.

22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ?
Yes, but then I quickl;y realize that I'd probably be disappointed.

23. On a scale of 1-10, rate the lj for convenience, usefulness, and coolness factor: x+y/2

Ay punyeta shit, I'm so forgetful.

Yeah, I also forget Leica too, but she chose to express her attention to my carelessness in a more cranky fashion, as is evidenced by her comment above.
