So, it looks like I might really have a job lined up for next year!
It's only a one-year sort of deal, but, YES!
I may be a 5th year intern here at DePauw, in charge of the Scenic Shop next year, making sure people use the equipment properly, supervising, answering questing, and helping build shows.
I'm so excited. Now I just need to hear back from the head of the department to start the process of making me a 5th year intern!

It reminds me of the Halloween I sat on the front porch in a grim reaper costume. I sat perfectly still, as if I were a dummy, with a bowl of candy besides me. The bowl had a sign in it, "Please, take just one," and I stayed still unless someone took more than one. Then I scared the poo out of them! |

I think the worst part of human interaction may be two-facedness. Don't get me wrong; I'm guilty of this too, at times.
But if you don't like me, don't act like you do. Don't lie to me. There is a difference between being civil and being fake nice. One is acceptable, the other is not.
Tell me the truth so I don't have to waste my time, my energy on my efforts to be kind and friendly to you. Don't use me like that.
I hope that in future interactions I will be able to do as I write here. I will strive to be civil, but not lie, to those whom I dislike.
Good news is, that isn't too many people. |
