hey guys, anyone of you, who understand Chinese?

It's because I'm reading some texts from Dao De Jing in translation, but I have the original texts too (writen in Latin letters, but still), and, well, I do have a fondness for translation, so I compared the two texts, just for fun, to see if I could find the Chinese word for some words repeated in the translated.

"the good" (det gode) is repated throughout text 8, but in the original I only see "ren" (which I know is SOMETIMES translated as "the good" or "the good human" or stuff like that in Confuzianism. But I got a question re that later) used once (funily enough the in the sentence opposite the sentence in the translation that does NOT include the words "the good". Will talk about that later ). I do, though, see the word "shan" repeated in the original, and googling it show that there is a connection between "zhen-shan-ren" in Buddhisme, so I wondered, just for fun, does "shan" mean "the good"?

Actually, re "ren" - on the site re the "zhen-shan-ren", "shan" is translated as "goodness" and "ren" is translated as "tolerance", and in the text I'm reading it is quite possible that the "ren" is translated in the meaning for being tolerant about something (basically, the water is tolerant about places that humans aren't)... so, would does "ren" means "goodness" more in the sence of "being tolerant"? Because in the text about Kongfuzi, where "ren" is used, there is no mention about being tolerant about anything.

Or what?
