I'm here ... that is a long drive. Just got back from opening ceremonies where they let me play a song ... thanks so much for that. I did WYSIWYG and got some nice laughs. I also talked about Tom Smith, and directed them to the benefit information.
I have a show at 8:30, and another at 1 tomorrow. Tonight my set finishes shortly after the Yard Dog Press party starts, so I can actually make it for once (I have this history of being up against the YDP people, but not in a fun way)
Anyway, saw a lot of folks already. This should be a nice weekend. More later.

Just a little less than 8 hours in front of me. This is the longest drive I do.
I set up set lists yesterday ... I'm doing two completely different shows for a total of almost 30 songs. Yes I have my cheat sheets set up.

I'm going to try to talk Cedric from the Bedlam Bards into jamming with me during at least one of the shows. We did a little of that last year and it was a great deal of fun.
I'll also be wandering around with my guitar in the evenings. And I'm sure other stuff as well.

Once again looking for some help
I'm working on a song and I want some opinions. What do you think is wrong with this country?
Here are the ground rules.
1 - I want to hear from my friends on the right as well as my friends on the left.
2 - If someone says something that you don't agree with ... tough. This thread is a place for someone's opinion, not a discussion, not an argument. Responses to other people's comments here are not allowed, not even from me.
3 - If you post in this thread, read everyone else's comments, and try to give them all credit.
I want to make this song not just from my point of view. I'm trying to make it something bigger. Now admittedly my politics are quite left of center, so I can't help but have that point of view in there somewhere, but I want more to this song. It may be more than I can manage, but I want to try.

Which is your favorite
I'e been delving into my past, going back and re-reading some of my favorite books, mostly SF and Fantasy. One of the things that I really dearly love are what I call displaced earthman books. Probably the best known example is the John Carter Of Mars books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. My favorite is the Carson Of Venus books by ERB. What I like best about him is that he isn't some perfect specimen of humanity. While brilliant, he's a screwup, and still is the hero.
So, is there anyone else out there who loves this sub-genre, and if so what are your favorites?
