More Nintendo Games

I'm so sad and pathetic!  I've gone out and bought myself another DS game and not one that was on my list!!
When we were in Paris we went to see Journey To The Centre Of The Earth with Brendan Fraser and I thought oh that would make a good game so when I saw it at lunch time I didn't even think twice but grabbed it and paid for it - unlike the Dr Who game I grabbed that turned it over and saw it was basically Top Trumps on the DS and to be honest we already have the cards.

Little Buttons
Well I have beaten the computer and I no longer have to use internet explorer.  I don't know why but I just don't like it.  Anyway I still couldn't get Firefox to work so the only alternative was to download something else instead - so opera it is.  We'll see how that goes but so far so good - I like it.
On the other hand I've spent yet another day messing about on the computer and my weekend housework has been put on the backburner. This is a pity 'cause it means I've to do it when I get home from work during the week - yes I know that sounds a bit manky but I'm to lazy to go into details.  Anyway this weekends and next weekends will have to be done this week as we are away for the weekend, next weekend.  To top it off my mother will be staying to do a spot of cat minding - hence the need to have a spotless house.  Actually now that I think of it even if it was spotless she would still find things to do.  Ah well never mind - I'm not too bothered.
I've had a lovely weekend - I put on the heavey duvet last night so it was just lovely to have a lie on this morning.  I'm making headway with the book I'm reading and I can smell the fruit cake in the oven.
Looking at the time - I'd better get dinner started so that it will be ready for himself when he gets home.  I have to admit I'm suffering from two things at the moment - domestic chaos and contentment.  Of course all that will be for the high jump tomorrow but that's work for you - anyway it's a short week - I'm off on Friday - yippee-skippy

Computer battles

My limited knowledge has reached it's outer limits - it doesn't know where to go from here.  All of a sudden Firefox has decided it will only load maybe one or two pages and then conk out.  If I shut it down and go back to it the computer tells me it won't open a new window 'cause it's already running.  I've reinstalled it - restalled older versions.  I've taken the computer back a couple of days and it works fine then windows updates and firefox is fucked again.
My last stab at this is happening now - I've taken it back but disconnected it from the broadband so it can't update that way I can go in and fix the setting that automatically downloads updates. To be honest it's my last hope until my next brainwave floats by.

Monday Mornings

I was going to say I don't know why but to be honest I do know why I woke up this morning feeling a little but anxious but to be honest I know it won't be as bad as my imagination makes out.  I've also woken up with an itchy scratch throat - never a good sign but I wonder if we have anything for it?  I think it is going to be an ear phones day in work - Dylan Thomas, The Archers & Excess Baggage will keep me going for the day.
Oh Wibble I'm not really in the form for this.

Cooking

I've just realised that I've misplaced the recipes from the recent Indian cookery course that I did.  This is a pity as I'd bought spinach for himself knowing that the recipes contained something for spinach - ah well sorry love but you're just going to have to have it with your dinner tomorrow instead - Oh the hardship!

Does this having a child business completely alter people or is it just her?

It seems/feels that since we got back from our holidays we've let the place slide a little so the plan for today was to get stuck in and for some odd reason I was looking forward to it.  I hate the thoughts of it during the week but tell me I've the house to myself on a weekend and my first thought it what needs to be done?  I had the whole day planned and it didn't involve me breaking a sweat however my sister avec niece are coming out to visit this afternoon so I have to burst a gut to get it done before they arrive.  I've re-jigged the plans and I'm ready!  Let the fun and games commence!

Driving lessons
Well I did my driving test today and failed however the up side is that I survived!

All along we'd been tootling just grand.  However we came to a mini roundabout not too far from the end of the ordeal and it all went tits up.  Somebody was on it so I slowed to stop, there was another car/jeepy thing driving along the road towards to roundabout, I entered the roundabout and was just about to turn off and this fruitloop just drives straight through the roundabout.  Slap on the brakes and tick the pink box - well bugger!!!

Ah well time to sign up to put myself through it all again soon.

Yuck!

I just stepped on something in our hall that went crunch.
I seem to be having a hard time coming to terms with nature these days.

Argh! Cats!

Daisy Loves Books
First thing in the morning is not the best time for me to be hearing a screaming mouse as Daisy escorted it around the living room in her mouth.  Later on I was told that Oscar was busy playing with a bird out the back.  I'm terrified to cut the grass out the back 'cause god only knows what's going to get caught up in the mower :(
When I came home there were the corpses of a mouse and half a bird outside the front door - I don't think it was the same mouse as this morning according to himself the one outside was bigger.
I so can't handle this - especially at 7.30am - it really ruins my day.

Book Titles

Books
At the moment I'm listening to The Affair Of The Bloodstained Egg Cosy however my brain just won't absorb the title and it keeps telling me that the book is called The Affair of the Egg Stained Tea Cosy.   Naughty Brain!!!

This evening we were watching a programme about people and their cats.  Between us we decided that the four cats are probably too much for us but we don't regret rescuing the two kittens.  All that lasted until we discovered that Daisy had brought in a half dead mouse and having disposed of that we the found that somebody had puked all over the patchwork quilt and floor then all of a sudden it was my fault for bringing the little blighters home!

While have a mooch around the net I came across this:

Sue Perkins is no stranger to disappointment. Sue started her career in the mid 90's as one quarter of double act Mel and Sue.

No wonder she was disappointed - she thought it was a double act but obviously there was more to it then she thought.

Well we recorded the final of Maestro last night as we would miss some / all of it so we're going to watch it all tonight.  I know that I can go into work today and I can feel safe in the knowledge that nobody will spoil it for me and tell me who won - it's the one reality TV programme they didn't watch!

EDIT that will teach me to turn on GMTV in the mornings!!  After going through tonights telly they decided to congratulate XXX for winning Maestro!!!
As himself doesn't know who won - I'm keeping quiet.

We've just been watching the programme with Joanne Lumley going to Norway to see the Northern Lights and by golly but they looked fantastic.  I have on occasion wanted to go to Norway and I think that programme has given me that little bit more resolve to do so.  It all looked so fantastic.

Hands up all those who say:

SLAUGHTERED!!!!!!  1-13  v  3-30

OH MY GOD That was unnatural.   Mind you I suppose if you haven't been in the final for 45years it's something just to get there and the next step for next time will be not to be SLAUGHTERED so badly and from there on work their way up to winning.

I intend to spend most of the day either watching telly or on the computer.  I have Country File to start off the day then I get to potter around on the computer and then there is the All Ireland Hurling Final and by god will there be some hurling going on in this house - I'll be home alone so I can scream and shout to my hearts content.
