| | Got a job at Degree's at the U of M during exams and I'll be working tue/thur for a while from 8am-12noon. Yesterday Koulab called and offered a ceasefire for the new year. That is freakin great, stress sucks. All that and I've been hanging out with a great chica. =D | comments: Leave a comment |
| | Today I did the unthinkable... I applied for work at the place that must not be named. It felt like one returning to an abusive spouse. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| Off for a month. I thought I was going to work my ass off and catch up on my bills. Turns out both places I thought would give me work don't need me right now. I'm going to apply at the restaurant at school for extra work.
I'm well on my way to completing my recreational reading goals. Im half way through "Ender's Game" which is great so far. Then its "Creation" by Gore Vidal followed by "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and lastly I've got "Becoming Like God: Kabbalah and our Ultimate Destiny" by Michael Berg, whose parents started the Kabbalah Centre in the states. | comments: Leave a comment |

| I sold my weights today to a high school kid off craigslist. I made all my money back on it so that will be really helpful right about now. I'm switching from "weights" to kettlebell which is basically a lead bowling ball with a handle. Saves lots of room and is more cardio and core intensive.
I'm going through a lot of stress right now with money, loss of a friendship and of course the divorce has gotten under way. I'm not doing so well handling the stress but its just more of the same that I've been going through the last couple of years so I'll deal.
I got this pet snake which is cute and adorable and all that but isn't very snuggly... I think I'll need a dog in the spring. Loneliness is starting to wear on me. =P | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

| Ricky is party in the front, business in the back.
Seriously though, call me if you want to hang out tonight, were going to the Short Film Massacre, then checking out the D-Rangers at the Albert and then who knows what shenanigans after that! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Wednesday, November 14th The Manitoba Old-Tyme & Bluegrass Society presents Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper 8:00PM (doors 7:15) Tickets $20 in advance @ ticketworkshop.com and WECC
I heard some of this guy on UMFM yesterday and liked it. Anyone up for bluegrass with me? The guy won fiddle player of the year this month, I guess thats why tickets are spensive. It's gonna be worldclass bluegrass! (you like that?)
... edit: and oh! three days later the d-rangers are playing with a couple other roots/bluegrass artists and releasing a comp album of canadian roots music. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

| Today after Judo, Jabez' sensei told me that he has never had a student at his age catch on so quickly and that depending how things go, he could see him really take off in the sport. Awesome!
Also he says he has a great face for judo since competitors tend to automatically fear opponents with asian features. Haha.
Also, its 1:43am and I cant sleep. I wake up in 5 hours. =P | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| | Most of you have seen my hair. Now that I'm growing this moustache out Im toying with the idea of being Ricky from Trailer Park Boys for Halloween... I'd just need a polyester track suit and a smoke. Would people get it though? | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| Well, I did it. I dropped philosophy. I hate quitting and found the subject matter very interesting. Unfortunately, I found that it was taking away from the courses that I want to major in (psych, soc). Add to the mix that I'm starting a new job and will probably be getting Jabez half-time (im optimistic), I just can't justify letting an "interest" course lower my grades.
In other news, I found out that the girl that was killed in her tow truck the other day was a girl one of my friends used to date way back in the day. She was an amazing person and even though I hadn't seen her in almost a decade, it felt like a punch in the gut when I found out. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| Elsewhere in Yangon, monks marching to the home of democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi urged supporters to stand back and let them alone challenge the might of the hardline regime that has ruled Myanmar for more than four decades.
'We monks will do this, please don't join us,' they said.
'Don't do anything violent. We will send loving kindness to them,' they said of the military presence. | comments: Leave a comment |

| Today I cycled the 11km to UM to get my books and time myself (40min). I think Ill get faster though since I really havent cycled all summer.
After that I went to StV mall to switch from Telus to MTS since my contract expired. While there I picked up this months Adbusters which looks especially interesting. (sheesh, could academia be subverting me already? haha). After that I rode home. Im pretty tired from all the riding, but Im sure I will finish the snowless season on my bike. We'll see how gungho I am once the snow flies.
In divorce news, November 7th has been set for the case conference. That will be step 1 in resolving divorce. The ball is finally rolling.
Tomorrow is my first day of classes and Im thrilled! | comments: 7 comments or Leave a comment |
