Wed, Jul. 23rd, 2008, 06:55 pm Y THE LAST MAN might be made into a film
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/080723c.phpGiven that Shia LaBeouf is interested, it increases the chance of the film being made. Y THE LAST MAN is based on a comic book series from DC Vertigo.
Wed, Jul. 23rd, 2008, 06:47 pm Someone says box office numbers are a matter of greed
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/spi/archives/143991.aspI say he may partly be right about greed driving studios to be number 1 with their film. Still a film like THE DARK KNIGHT had a huge demand. I saw the midnight showing and again on a Saturday matinee. I know the number 1 climate does cause many films that don't perform right now to drop out-of-sight quickly and be termed a failure. Still one thing isn't accounted for- the sheer amount of films that keep getting released and so the the theaters push for the films that do the best with the audience.
Tue, Jul. 22nd, 2008, 01:08 pm three new DVD Reviews (doomsday, superheros, and Bud Bundy)
Mon, Jul. 21st, 2008, 10:38 am comic writer Alan Moore has no interest in seeing WATCHMEN movie
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20213004,00.htmlMoore unfortunately still holds too much a grudge against DC Comics, Warner Bros., and comic book movies in general. I say the WATCHMEN movie might be great since the trailer is awesome. V FOR VENDETTA is a fantastic adaptation. So I think Alan Moore needs to focus a little less on his grudges against DC and Warner Bros.

So it looks like it is on target to hit $300 million by the end of next weekend of by August 1st. I saw THE DARK KNIGHT on Saturday again. I took in details I didn't see before and the performances (by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart) were even stronger the second time
Sat, Jul. 19th, 2008, 11:49 am Movie Review: THE DARK KNIGHT (2008)
http://enterline2.tripod.com/thedarkknight.htmlI might go see it again this weekend. Also up for the weekend is a viewing of the unrated cut of DOOMSDAY and continue watching THE BIRDS OF PREY TV show on DVD (expect DVD reviews sometime next week for both).
Sat, Jul. 19th, 2008, 11:10 am THE DARK KNIGHT makes $66.4 million on Friday
THE DARK KNIGHT is set to break box office records as it will probably make between $150 million to $200 million by Monday. It will be over the $300 million point by the end of next weekend. The midnight screenings I went to was packed (and the other two screens showing the film were too). It was madness, but everyone was eager to see a film better than the first one. Over at Time, the writer doesn't get the appeal of people standing in line for midnight screeenings for the film: http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1824092,00.htmlPreviews in front of THE DARK KNIGHT: THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, WATCHMEN (a must-see), THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (the special effects in the remake look impressive and the film will be huge on December 12th), QUANTUM OF SOLACE (the James Bond film that will be one of the two big films in November), BODY OF LIES (I like Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott, and DiCaprio doesn't impress me), and TERMINATOR: SALVATION (out next summer). Back soon with my overdue review of the best film of the year (so far), THE DARK KNIGHT.

Tue, Jul. 15th, 2008, 07:07 pm A post about THE DARK KNIGHT
First, a link to an article about Christopher Nolan, director of BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT. http://film.guardian.co.uk/features/featurepages/0,,2290698,00.htmlSecond, I bought a ticket to see THE DARK KNIGHT at 12:05 am on Friday morning. I'm psyched. I'm curious to see how good the film is since everyone who've seen it (the press) have raved about it. Also how much greater will Heath Ledger's take on The Joker will be compared to old Jack.
