Hey look, a TANK!
So... ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) rebelcoyote promised me a tank as a souvenir from Iraq. I was well pleased.
But today he sent me PICTURES!
Tankity tank tank tank! (as tiny_nomad would say). And a Trueman, to boot.
This is the anti-aircraft gun he said he'd throw in.
I'm going to be the only girl at school with matched heavy artillery, and I'm so happy about it.

Give peace a chance my friend...peace doesn't kill people, people kill people.
If peace killed people we'd have an amendment in the bill of rights defining how peace is to be well regulated in spite of its neccesity to the defense of a state and therefore the right to bear peace symbols would not be infringed.
This isn't a new icon, my friend! It is one of the classic icons that I know one day I must part with, but cannot bear to do at the current time.
Uh oh...my shotgun just walked off again. I'd better go find it and put it on its leash before it shoots somebody under its own willpower again. Ta-ta!

C'mon Emmy, at the very least Trueman could get you a M2 BFV instead of a BMP-2. (The rear doors of the BMP-2 double as fuel tanks, which seems to be the Soviet answer to the age-old question, "How do you keep our forces from retreating?") On the plus side, the AAA -- looks like a quad 14.5mm -- is killer. Literally.

If you find out the apartment lease doesn't allow for heavy artillery, we can put the tank in the back yard and I'll do some nice planters around it. Maybe some terrace gardening.

I got good news and bad news for you. Bad News, despite that 73mm cannon in the turret, it is not a Tank. It is a BMP. A Russian made APC (armoured personnel carrier). Tanks eat these for breakfast. The Good News is that it looks to be a low mileage vehicle in MINT condition. You and 9 of your friends can ride in it, the gas mileage is much better than a tank, plus you can fill it up at the gas station and you can probably fit it in your garage In addition, there is a tow hook on the back to drag around that quad 14.5mm machine gun mount. Don't feel too cheated as he probably couldn't find any Iraqi tanks that were not smouldering burntout wrecks. |
