this is what i must repeat to myself. over and over. the little face amuses me though.
right now i am in the midst of major work time. my brain feels like scrambled eggs. much like that commercial about drugs that was like 'this is your brain', and showed an egg, then they smashed the egg in a pan and said 'this is your brain on drugs'. i feel like the smashed egg right now. but its ok, cause i'm almost there. i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. just one more section to go! yippeeeeee!!!!

i have a lot of work. so i'm going to keep this short with a classic bullet pointed list:
- had fall break this weekend, went to visit
batsani in DC. it was totally awesome and i had a great great time. yay! - saw a long lost friend who moved to paris as well as a former housemate from sevilla. so good to catch up with old and new friends.
- am starting work on saturday. yipee employment!
- have SO MUCH school work to do this weekend. i'll be surprised if i make it.

i've managed to find myself myteriously with not much to do...i mean, i have things to do, some busy work, etc, but nothing really essetential. very interesting. i guess i'll call professors to make some meetings.
anyway, life here has been pretty good. not much to report because i spend most of my time working. i went home this past weekend, which was nice. got my invisible braces, they hurt, but whatever, they're invisible. my sister may or may not despise my existence, one is never sure. this weekend is fall break (wooooo!) in which i'll be going down to dc, staying with
batsani and hopefully seeing
moosnail, all of which will be very nice!
so i'm happy, live is moving in a somewhat postive direction, no disasters, etc :)

- school is busy
- work seems to be under control, but if i slack off tonight i will be doomed
- i have a seemingly really easy paper to write, but for some unknown reason its total crap
- i'm getting sick and therefore not making much sense
- had a very nice and assuring meeting with my career advisors

i've been positively aweful about updating lately.
school has been keeping me really busy. perhaps too busy. i'm working on getting into my work rountine so that i can balence my schedule, but for some unknown reason my work load tripled last week. insanity! but at least my classes are interesting
hannes came up this weekend. it was so much fun. we went to the beach on saturday, and despite the aweful weather the day before, it was so gorgeous out. the perfect day! it was such a great weekend :)
anyway, now i'm catching up with my studies.
consider me updated

school is basically good, but reality is setting in fast and i'm not sure i'm moving at a fast enough pace to keep up with it. i keep on coming back to something mrs. baldwin said when we were starting high school, which was along the lines of life now is a speeding train, and if you miss if, you're not going to catch up, so you damned well make that train.
man, i hope i'm on it....

so, i'm going to try and move into school on monday. which means i guess i have about three days left of my last "kid" summer before The Real World, where people stop being polite and start getting real. hmm. its all very exciting and scarey at the same time.
anyway, i havn't been up to much. we got back from upstate new york on saturday, and after two days of laying low, we've been helping my mother renovate the basement the rest of the week. but today was different....today we went to new york. it was great. did a little shopping (actually hannes did the shopping, i picked out colors) and got to see some friends. plus hannes and i went to the swedish consulate because he needed to vote in the parlamentary elections. that was cool because everthing is swedish. like the doors and light bulbs and switches....i wonder if the outlets are different too...probably not, but it would have been cool if they were.
so we just got back a little while ago and i'm feeling pleasantly tired (especially after a nice glass of red wine, maybe i'll make that two glasses...). hopefully i'll be well rested for tomorrows continued construction works...at least i'm getting paid to be my mothers minion :)

hello friends! its been a while, but life is great.
so hannes made it to america this past wedensday. its been so fun. we headed up to upstate new york on friday. its so incredible up here. the weather has been perfect. its been a lot of family time, but everyone seems to get along swimmingly, so i'm not stressed at all. though today my grandparents arrive...haha. i'm excited to see them :)
anyway, nothing new going on. i'll be home on thursday, and will be ready for anything. yippee!

well, i guess i've just settled in. actually, my computer resides on a small table in a cornor in my room, and if i don't see it, i don't use it, hahaha. so the computer had a bit of a rest, which was good because it was fixed today! yayaya!
anyway, life has been good. busy. i've had a lot to do, like errands, helping the mom, doctors. actually, i am at the doctors a lot. arg. and i have another appointment bright and early tomorrow! yippee..................at least i'm getting a lot of reading in, and re-learning how to be "fake polite" (the art of small talk doesn't really exist in europe, so i think i was a bit...rude/brash/short upon arrival, and doctors offices are a great place to retrain with people you don't really care about offending. unless of course they're holding your eye open with a metal clamp like thing.....). and a lot of my time has been dedicated to helping my mom with *finally* making the perfect peach jam. i think we got really close, but unless i make it myself (for the third time) this week, we'll probably have to wait till next summer to do it right. damn you pectin!
hahaha
ok, i'm deliriously tired.

ok, havn't updated in a bit...so here is a bullet point list:
- been diagnosed with some strange eye disorder. nothing serious, but i can't really see out of my left eye. as a result i have to go to the stupid eye docter (whom i loathe like most people loathe a dentist...) multiple times, the next one being on thursday. so i have to cancel my maine trip last minute, and i feel really crappy. havn't been able to get a hold of my friends there, so i hope they got my messages...grr.
- going to my first orthodonist appointment in my life on tuesday. aaaaaaaaaaah!
- think the jetlag is over
- sally and i went to triumph last night for a beer. actually, we mainly went to get carded. but we didn't! but sally ordered the "sampler", so we were amused. plus is a cool place to hang out, as i discovered
- tomorrow (inshallah) i'm getting a new cell phone! with a new number, but whatever, its a new phone, yay!
- america really changed a lot in a year
- lots of people in princeton speak spanish and i love it
- i hate the eye docters
- drving my car again is REALLY fun
- and i'm super tired cause i'm an old lady. i'm SO bored. if your in the general princeton area, we need to hang out!!!!!!

ok, so i be home. my bed is so comfortable. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
anyway, it was really annoying getting back, but i'm here! today was really nice because some of my family came down and we basically hung out in the back yard while everyone complained about the heat. hmm, it wasn't that hot out, but whatever, haha. and tomorrow is exciting, because we're going to new york for dim sum! yay!
also, my cell phone charger is mysteriously gone. and my battery is dead, so i guess i'm unreachable. so, yeah. sally and caroline, send me your numbers tonight, so i can write them down and call you from my sisters phone!
well, i'm pretty tired, so i'm out :)
glad to be back

"So here is my challenge. Please consider the following scales: individual, local, national, and international. Now, write down the top 5 actions that you think should be taken on each of these levels in order to improve the world. These don't have to be the top 5 that would have the greatest effect, but the 5 that matter most to you or get you most excited. Or perhaps just the 5 that come to mind first. If it's not clear, please also explain what effects the given actions would hopefully have. Finally, post your list in a comment here or in your own journal."
i LOVE fridays! its the weekend! my last weekend in sevilla...so it will be fun and relaxing.
anyway, today was great. work was good, talked to the boss for a long time about immigration in both spain and the states, and how they are similar, etc. very interesting. i like being asked questions.
then this afternoon suzanne and i wandered, got mcdonalds (i felt SO ill. but i got my cup. now i'm never going back again), then spent about TWO hours reading gossip blogs online. it was like we actually cared that jessica simpson is "so over" and that angelina jolie might have gotten plastic surgery. hahahhaah. whatever, it was fun.
now its night. i got to talk to hannes today (yippee!). but i'm tired....so bed for me!

why did no one bother to tell me i look like a discoball? well, maybe i'm exaggerating or spending too much time using the magnified side of my mirror, but i think i've been over dosing on the brozer a bit. hmm. that makes me feel silly.
anyway, its the middle of the day and the weather is glorious. its a nice 99F (35C), and there is a breeze. like i said yesterday, its like spring! a whole new world! this means i'll be spending my afternoon in the alcazar gardens with suzanne and her cousins. which i couldn't be happier about because i LOVE that place, probably one of my favorite locations in sevilla, and one i definatly know i havn't taken as much advantage of as i should. but now is not the time for regrets and it will hopefully still be here when i return :) i'll try and post some pictures later.
work went very well today. after a mid-day slump i managed to kick myself into high gear and really get a lot done. it also helped to get things clarified. so i'm happy with how it went today. hopefully the rest of the week will follow suit.
in other news, for those of you i havn't complained too yet, i have a rash in my ear that is ugly and painful. however, its much improved after some neosporin and danish lotion treatment. i think the damn aveeno cortizone cream is what began it in the first place. that stuff is aweful and i'm never buying their products again. i spit on them!
