Bleach Manga Summaries
For all the times I've said to myself, where the heck is the chapter where Ishida talks to the butterfly/Hitsugaya does the paperwork/Kira and Rangiku get drunk/[insert name] fights [insert name]?

Presenting Bleach manga summaries, from Chapter 97 onwards. (There may be mistakes and typos at the moment because I've been working at this all day and my eyes are slightly crossed at the moment. I'll clean it up in the morning.)

And happy birthday to Renji. :)

***IMPORTANT***
These summaries are meant as a supplement to the manga, not a replacement for it. As such, there may be occasional mistakes in small details, and you will not get the full picture from reading these. The purpose of the summaries is for people who have ALREADY READ the manga to have a quick reference guide to what happens in which chapter when they need to look it up in more detail. The aim here is only to give the most general gist possible of all the major events in a chapter. And while I do welcome corrections, please also keep in mind that I did not set out to write exhaustively accurate summaries for new readers, and thus nitpicking about details may be a pointless exercise, because then we're getting into specifics. Corrections that would noticeably contribute to the summaries giving a better GENERAL idea of what happens are more urgent and appreciated. Thank you!

- Kira shows up, and runs away, chased by Hitsugaya and Rangiku
- Kira tells Hitsugaya that he didn't kill the Centre 46, but was let in by someone, and that Hinamori has escaped and has been following Hitsugaya
- Hitsugaya leaves Kira to Rangiku
- Kira releases his Soul Slayer
- Hinamori is looking at the Centre 46, horrified, when Gin shows up from behind her

169. End of Hypnosis
- Rangiku fights with Kira, and soon is unable to carry her sword any longer
- Rangiku releases her Soul Slayer
- Gin brings Hinamori to the residential tower of Centre 46
- Aizen appears
- Aizen stabs Hinamori and leaves with Gin

170. End of Hypnosis 2 [The Galvanizer]
- Hitsugaya appears and discovers Hinamori has been stabbed
- Aizen tells Hitsugaya that he and Gin have been working together since Aizen first became a captain
- Hitsugaya releases his ban kai, Dai Guren Hyourinmaru, and tells Aizen he will kill him
- Aizen stabs Hitsugaya

- Hitsugaya's ban kai fades, and he collapses
- Unohana and Isane appear
- Aizen shows them the true form of his Soul Slayer and its ability
- Aizen reveals that Tousen has been his subordinate from the beginning
- Aizen transports himself and Gin to Soukyoku Hill, and Tousen does the same to himself, Renji and Rukia

172. End of Hypnosis 4 [Prisoners in Paradise]

- Unohana goes to save Hinamori and Hitsugaya
- Isane broadcasts information about Aizen to all of Soul Society and the ryoka as well
- Aizen tells Renji to stand down and leave Rukia, but he refuses

173. End of Hypnosis 5 [Standing to Defend You]
- Aizen tells Renji that the Aizen he knew never existed at all
- Renji releases Zabimaru, but Aizen defeats him bare-handed
- Aizen tells Renji that he purposely had him, Kira and Hinamori put in the 5th Division, and the two more useful ones then became subordinates for Gin and himself, while Renji was transferred out
- Ichigo arrives and stops Aizen's sword as it is about to hit Renji

174. End of Hypnosis 6 [The United Front]
- Ichigo and Renji join forces to fight Aizen
- Aizen defeats both of them, and approaches Rukia

175. End of Hypnosis 7 [Truth Under My Strings]
- Ichigo speaks with Aizen, and discovers that Aizen knew all along of their arrival
- Aizen has been assuming that Ichigo and company came to save Rukia under Urahara's orders
- Aizen explains about merging Shinigami and Hollows, and Urahara's creation of the Hou Gyoku
- The truth about Rukia's importance and the gigai Urahara gave her
- Komamura arrives on the scene

176. End of Hypnosis 8 [The Transfixion]
- Tousen and Komamura's backstory
- Komamura starts to release his ban kai, but Aizen hits him with a Demon Arts spell and he collapses
- Aizen reveals that he murdered Centre 46 as soon as Rukia's location was discovered, and he, Tousen and Gin issued all commands from then on
- Aizen tells them of the two ways to remove an object from a konpaku and why he wanted to use the Soukyoku
- Aizen takes the Hou Gyoku out of Rukia
- Gin tries to kill Rukia with Shinsou, but Byakuya appears suddenly and takes the hit for her

177. End of Hypnosis 9 [Completely Encompass]
- Byakuya collapses
- Aizen starts to draw his sword, but is stopped by Yoruichi and Soi Fong
- The East, North and South Gate Guardians go to Aizen's aid, and are thwarted by Jidanbou and Kuukaku
- Rangiku catches Gin and puts a sword to his throat
- Ukitake, Shunsui, Yamamoto and his Vice-Captain, Iba and Shuuhei appear (Shuuhei with his sword against Tousen)

178. No One Stand on the Sky
- Aizen summons a Menos Grande, and is suddenly surrounded by a beam of light
- The same light surrounds Tousen and Gin, and Shuuhei and Rangiku have to let go
- Aizen, Tousen and Gin start to rise
- Komamura yells at Tousen to come down
- Ukitake remarks on how low Aizen has fallen
- Aizen crushes his glasses, and says that no one has ever stood in the heavens, but from this day forth that space will be filled by him
- Yachiru and the ryoka are watching from below Soukyoku Hill as Aizen, Tousen and Gin rise
- Aizen says goodbye, and disappears

179. Confession in the Twilight
- 4th Division arrives at Soukyoku Hill and starts tending to the wounded
- Orihime is healing Ichigo
- Unohana arrives and says that Hitsugaya and Hinamori have been stabilised
- Unohana tends to Byakuya, and tells Rukia that he's calling for her
- The Byakuya, Hisana and Rukia backstory
- Isane wakes up from a fishcake dream, and talks with Unohana

180. Something in the Aftermath
- The 11th Division have been largely healed and are being nuisances

- Ishida recreates the clothes everyone was wearing
- Ikkaku and Ichigo start to fight, Kenpachi appears, and Ichigo escapes
- Komamura and Shuuhei meet at the grave of Tousen's dead friend, and resolve to help Tousen

- Kira comes to see Rangiku, and they get drunk together
- Hitsugaya goes to see Hinamori, who is still unconscious
- Orihime goes to give Rukia her dress, and discovers that she's missing

181. And the Rain Left Off
- Renji and Byakuya are having a bit of a heart-to-heart when Ichigo bursts in
- Ichigo asks if Renji knows where Rukia is, but he doesn't
- Byakuya remarks that Ichigo needs to learn to respect his elders
- Shuuhei goes drinking with Rangiku and Kira, who is foaming at the mouth and stripped to his undies
- Shunsui asks to join in, but Rangiku says Nanao would be angry
- Ganjyu is being forced to do push-ups by Kuukaku when Rukia arrives, and apologises
- Kuukaku says she heard everything from Ukitake, and forgives her now that she's said sorry
- Ichigo and Orihime find Rukia
- Rukia says she's decided to stay in Soul Society
- The gate to Ichigo's world is opened, and Ukitake gives Ichigo something
- Ichigo and Rukia bid farewell to each other, and the ryoka leave

182. Get Back From The Storm [Trigger for a New Concerto]
- Title Page: The Reservoir Dogs spread, with everyone in suits
- Ichigo and company step out of the gate into thin air, and are caught by Jinta and Tessai
- They land on Urahara's flying carpet
- Urahara apologises to Ichigo
- Ichigo shows the others the substitute Shinigami licence that Ukitake gave him
- Ichigo goes home after dropping the others off, knocks Kon out of his body with the substitute licence, and is almost immediately assaulted by Isshin

183. Eyes of the Unknown
- Ichigo tries to return Isshin's good luck charm, but Isshin tells him to hang on to it
- School starts
- Tatsuki can see Ichigo's substitute licence
- The licence rings in the middle of class, and Ichigo, Chad and Orihime run out
- Tatsuki looks out of the window, and sees Ichigo in Shinigami form
- After Ichigo defeats the Hollow, Orihime says that Ishida hasn't been feeling well
- In the background, Hirako is falling out of the sky

184. Hush
- Ishida fixes Kon up
- Hirako is introduced to the class
- The licence rings again, and Ichigo runs out of class
- Later that night, in Ichigo's house, the licence rings and Ichigo leaves his body with Kon, who goes out of the house
- Hirako suddenly appears while Ichigo is talking with another Shinigami
- The Grand Fisher appears behind Kon

185. Be My Family Or Not
- A Hollow attacks Ishida
- The Grand Fisher attacks Kon
- Urahara and Yoruichi sense something
- Hirako reveals that he is a Vizard, and that Ichigo is the same type
- Ishida is on the verge of being defeated by the Hollow when a mysterious someone saves him

186. Tell Your Children the Truth
- Ishida's saviour is revealed to be his father, Ishida Ryuuken
- Ryuuken tells Ishida that he could restore his Quincy abilities, if he swore to have nothing to do with Shinigami henceforth
- Kon is still running from the Grand Fisher
- Isshin appears and stops the Grand Fisher's blow

187. The Cigar Blues Part 2
- Ichigo runs off, leaving Hirako to report his failure to Hiyori
- Isshin tells Kon that he's always known that he wasn't Ichigo
- Because Isshin is a Shinigami, Ichigo is a "Shinketsu" (Pureblood)
- Isshin and the Grand Fisher draw their swords

188. Crush The World Down
- Isshin takes down the Grand Fisher with one attack
- Urahara shows up to speak with Isshin
- Urahara and Isshin discuss the Vizards and Allankars, and Isshin says it has to be Aizen's doing
- Soul Society holds a special Captains' assembly

189. Resolve
- Ichigo and Ishida are thinking about Hirako's and Ryuuken's offers, respectively
- Ichigo drags Hirako out of the classroom and interrogates him
- After school, Hiyori appears and beats Hirako up
- Orihime and Chad have followed Hirako, and they ask Hiyori and Hirako what they're up to
- Ishida accepts his father's offer

190. Conquistadores
- Hiyori is about to fight Chad and Orihime, but Hirako grabs her and runs away
- Title Page: Sarugaki Hiyori
- Ichigo comes home after school, and thinks about how he can still hear the Hollow within him
- Karin comes in and tells Ichigo that she knows he's a Shinigami
- In Soul Society, the 12th Division note the appearance of Allankars in Karakura Town

191. Conquistadores 2 [Screaming Symphony]
- Ichigo senses an incredible spiritual pressure, and switches to Shinigami form, then leaves the house and Karin
- Yamii sucks up the souls of unfortunate bystanders, including Tatsuki, who is the only survivor
- Chad and Orihime come to Tatsuki's rescue
- Yamii fights Chad and practically rips his arm off
- Orihime runs towards them

192. Conquistadores 3 [Hounded Priestess]
- Orihime blocks Yamii's attack with Santen Kesshun, then works on healing Chad
- Ulquiorra notes that Orihime's healing power isn't strictly healing, but has to do with time and spatial distortion
- Orihime sends Tsubaki at Yamii, but Tsubaki is swatted aside
- Yamii asks Ulquiorra if he should bring Orihime back to Aizen after dismembering her
- Ichigo arrives and blocks Yamii's attack
- Ichigo releases his ban kai

193. Conquistadores 4 [Ebony and Ivory]
- 2-page colour spreads: Bleach guys in Shinigami outfits, and Bleach girls at the beach
- Ichigo's ban kai is released
- Orihime notes that Ichigo's spiritual pressure has become more violent, and that it seems like it's not really him anymore
- Ichigo tells Orihime to get away from him
- Ulquiorra tells Yamii that Ichigo is their target
- Ichigo cuts off Yamii's arm
- Ulquiorra thinks to himself that Ichigo may prove troublesome to Aizen
- Yamii starts to draw his Soul Slayer, and Ichigo wonders if they're Vizards too
- Ichigo's Hollow side begins to struggle to the surface
- Urahara and Yoruichi come to help just as Yamii launches a punch at Ichigo

194. Conquistadores 5 [La Basura]
- Note: "La Basura" means "the trash" in Spanish
- Yamii attacks Urahara and Yoruichi, but his attack is easily blocked
- Yamii attacks Yoruichi again as she turns to tend to Orihime, and Yoruichi knocks him down in a couple of blows
- Yoruichi gives Orihime some medicine and tells her that Ichigo will be fine
- Yamii attacks again, with a powerful flash attack called a Cero
- Urahara dissipates the Cero by launching his own attack of equal power
- Urahara starts to unleash Benihime, but Ulquiorra steps in
- Ulquiorra recognises Urahara and Yoruichi, and he tells Yamii that they are way beyond his level
- Ulquiorra informs Yoruichi that they have accomplished their mission and are ready to report to Aizen
- Ulquiorra and Yamii leave through a portal

195. Death and Strawberry [Reprise]
- Urahara walks back to his shop with drinks for Jinta and Ururu
- Urahara notes that Yoruichi's arm and leg seem functional now, and she says they're fine for everyday activities
- Urahara asks if she's fit for battle, and Yoruichi replies that the Allankars are far more formidable than they could have predicted
- Title Page: Ulquiorra
- Chizuru is frantic over Orihime's injuries
- Ichigo starts to speak to Orihime, but stops and goes away, and Orihime runs after him
- Flashback: Orihime is telling Ichigo that he shouldn't apologise
- Ichigo thinks to himself that if he can't apologise, he doesn't know what else he can do
- We see a lot of walking feet, and there is some conversation about being inconspicuous and not carrying weapons
- The door of Ichigo's classroom opens, and Renji, Yumichika, Ikkaku, Hitsugaya and Rangiku are standing there in school uniforms
- Ichigo is completely shocked
- Renji tells Ichigo that this is in preparation for a war against the Allankars
- Ichigo has no idea what Allankars are, and a voice from behind informs him that they almost killed him yesterday
- Ichigo turns around, and Rukia is standing on the windowsill

196. Punch Down the Stone Circle
- Ichigo's classmates are very confused by the appearance of the shinigami
- Rukia kicks Ichigo in the face, slaps him around, knocks his shinigami form out, and drags him out of class
- The other shinigami talk about Ichigo a little (Rangiku says she finds him attractive)
- Ichigo's classmates are concerned for Ichigo, and curious about the shinigami
- Ikkaku tries to beat people up, and Hitsugaya wishes someone else was in charge
- Rukia makes Ichigo fight a Hollow, in the process reviving his will to fight
- Rukia makes Ichigo apologise to Orihime
- Orihime thanks Rukia for returning Ichigo to his old self, and welcomes her home

197. The Approaching Danger
- Keigo and Mizuiro are talking, and Keigo mentions how lively it seems in the classroom
- Ikkaku threatens to fight Keigo, but Rangiku stops him
- Rangiku punches Keigo for hitting on her, and the shinigami leave
- Title Page: The shinigami (except for Rukia) in high school uniforms and a kicking pose
- Rukia has a little reunion of sorts with Kon in Ichigo's room
- Isshin and Yuzu are listening at the door with paper cups, but Ichigo hears them and chases them off
- Just as Ichigo is demanding an explanation of Rukia, Renji, Ikkaku, Yumichika and Rangiku enter through the ceiling light
- Renji and Rukia explain Allankars to Ichigo, and why the shinigami are there
- Hitsugaya suddenly appears sitting on the windowsill, and tells Ichigo that Aizen is targeting him
- Hitsugaya explains about the kinds of Menos
- Ulquiorra and Yamii report to Aizen
