I have a headache and I can't get to bed. I really want to go to sleep, but I can't get there. *le sigh* I took loads of pills, though, so hopefully at least one of them will do the trick. Yes, I know what I'm doing. No, none of them are contraindicated.

I did absolutely NOTHING productive today. Well, I went to the store for sloppy joe mix and cat food, but that was about it for productivity. Ooh! I also agreed to volunteer for Obama. So that's some sort of social thing I'll be doing if they take me up on my offer. Who knows if they will as I said I'd only do clerical stuff, no canvassing or calling. *shudders at the thought*

In kitty news, Mia is trying to kill Katy, I swear it. She just keeps getting worse and worse. To top it off, she runs hot and cold. Sometimes she'll be sweet to Katy, then next minute, she's busy tearing into her. If they keep this up, it's going to be upstairs/downstairs kitties.

what? the fuck? i refreshed my yahoo and it said object had been moved. then i typed in mail.yahoo.com and, instead of taking me to yahoo mail, it took me to ask.com and said the url could not be found. i tried going to the mail section from yahoo.com proper and it still took me to ask.com with a missing url.

Okay, not actually reviews, as I'd have to know more about scents than I do. Basically just a "yup! liked this one" or "this one smelled of donkey poo"

Belladonna: Smelled of donkey poo. Okay, not really but it did smell like a dirty ashtray. Very, very smoky and not in the good way.

Hell's Belle: I like this. I can't really tell you why, but I do. It's rich and spicy. It says it's smoky, but I don't really get that, it is very sensuous. It's sweet, but not sickenly so.

Moon Rose: OMG! Another scent I want a large bottle of. It smells divine! A very floral, tame rose that's brill for any time of day. It's light and airy and wonderful. ♥

Two, Five, & Seven: I didn't like this in the phial. I did, however, like it on my skin. In the phial it smelled almost sour. On, the rose really came out. It's not my favorite of the roses, but I likely will keep it.

Lolita: The orange blossom and lemon verbena are very prevalent in this one, and I like that. However, I'm not too keen on how it smells after it's been on my skin for a while. I can't really describe it and it's not putrid, just not as good as it is when it's fresh.

It I've tried other scents, but I can't remember them. One I didn't like, but I think Pheny would. The others I'll put up here for first come first serve.

In the best possible way. After, oh, nearly a year, I finally did a hard-core (which I can't say on neopets *rolls eyes*) workout. We're talking blood pumping, panting, sweating, OMG-my-legs-hurt workout. And I plan on doing some more later on today, but I don't want to kill myself.

I also read a fantastic fic by yin_again and wesleysgirl called Coming Around Again. So fantastic. Schmoopy and sappy and sweet and romantic and all the things I like in a fic with a little bit of angst thrown in for spice. If you're into Spander and haven't checked it out, I recommend you do so immediately.

I've also been playing neopets pretty much nonstop. So much fun, and even more fun now that I have a partner in crime to neomail and talk about NQ2 with. ;)

So yeah, things have been going well, which--oddly enough--coincides with the fact that I've started taking my meds again. I went on a relapse for a bit. Although I have been having weird dreams. Nothing bad, just weird and lifelike and concerning me and school and friends I haven't seen in forever. *is a bad friend who sucks at keeping in touch*

Just saw Little Miss Sunshine. OMG! So good! I had no idea what to expect, but wow. It was touching, poignant, and HILARIOUS! My god, the funny. I so did not see the talent show coming. At all. *dies laughing*

In other news, did laundry, cleaned room, went shopping (though didn't actually buy anything), and was generally productive today. Yay! I am, however, missing all my friends who aren't here to talk to me. :( If you happen to be on YIM and want to chat, give me a buzz. I'm ruriquake. Also, BPAL scents! I love, love, love Amsterdam. So floraly and light and springy. Definitely am considering buying a big bottle of it. Am currently wearing Lucy's Kiss, which is also wonderful. A deep, beautiful rose scent. Will continue to keep you updated and will amass a list of scents I want to give away. I mean, I can't like them all.

The girls went to the vet's today. They were both perfect little ladies. there was no biting, hissing, scratching, growling, etc. Unfortunately, Mia has bad ears and Katy has bad teeth. :( Mia has drops and Katy has a dental appointment in two weeks (it was the soonest she could be seen), so we're taking care of them. This at least explains why Katy refused to eat dry food. It hurt her poor gums.

In other news, I received a wonderful plaque from the vet clinic in Sassy's memory. Talk about sweet.

Also, at the last minute, lush received some Red Rooster, so contrary to the email I got from them, I shall indeed be getting red rooster AND they bumped up my shipping! Every time Lush does something to piss me off, they turn around and make it good again.

I've been away from LJ for a few days what with Phen being here 'til Friday and my mum taking up all my time yesterday that I just now saw that hollydb wrote an absolutely amazing Willow/Tara fic.

It's set in season 7 and it's Willow's reflection of her relationship with Tara. It is spot-on. It's just gorgeous and heart-breaking yet really ties up loose ends and puts one at peace with how things ended. Definitely worth a read. And the best part? It's all mine!! Although it's so fantastic, I'd rec it even if it weren't dedicated to me.

Tomorrow is a busy day. Not only do I officially adopt the kitties (who are long overdue for a vet's visit...we hope to take them Saturday), but I also GET A PHEN!!!! Yup! Phen's going to be here tomorrow!!!

I have so much planned for the time she's going to be here (she leaves Friday morning). With a little luck, she won't have a shit time. We have a baseball game (Helena v. Idaho Falls, ID), Killer Bunnies ( a fun card game), M:tG (another fun card game), BtVS (at least one ep for old time's sake), and a trip to the gates of the mountains all planned in two days' time. I also want to see Wall*e, but that may have to wait a bit.

Tonight, however, I have to clean, clean, clean. And beta. I cannot go to sleep until my favorite Holly's story is betaed.

Now I should probably go get dressed. Or something. Yes, I realize it's 6:20pm and I'm still in my jammies. I also realize how sad this is.

I just placed a huge lush order the other day, which happened to include The Wuss. Sadly, I ordered before I really checked out the description. Here's what it says:

The Wuss was invented in 1999 as one of the very first bubble bars. In those days they were made into huge loaves and sliced up (then they would fall apart so we made them smaller). Created in honour of manly man Mark Wolverton, CEO of LUSH North America, it smells like ground coffee, martinis with olives and a sprinkling of tobacco. We stopped short of adding in the scent of freshly ironed jeans and cowboy boots.

Can you say eiew? I'm gonna smell like a dirty bar. It'll be interesting to try at any rate.

The main point of this post, however, is a poll. I just placed the large order (plus a large order to BPAL last night), but forgot to order one thing and two others I wanted were out of stock. Keeping in mind two of the three items would be a gift for my beloved Phenster...

I was chatting with Kate about BPAL and decided that I want to try them again. However...there are just too many scents that it is daunting. I'll go with the 6 imp's ears thing.

Does anyone have suggestions of BPAL scents? Your favorites? Things you think I'd like? I like deep, earthy scents as well as light, flowery scents and everything in between. I do not like "foody" or sweet scents.

is going to be the death of me. Now that we gave her a sample of wet food, she refuses to eat the dry AND she keeps getting on the kitchen counters. I've tried hand clapping and yelling and gentle nudging of her to get her off the counter, but she refuses. I have to pick her up in order to get her down.

I have a feeling she was able to be on the counters at her old house and it's going to be a bitch to teach her to stay off them here. She also has bad habits like drinking out of the toilets. Who would have thought that the shy, quiet one was the hellion?

Ugh. Katy was sitting on the back of the sofa, twitching her tail. Mia came behind the sofa and attacked Katy's tail. What were we thinking taking both of them home with us? *headesk*

It's the fourth of july and I am home. Alone. Well, I have two lovely kitties. One (Mia) is upstairs and the other (Katy) is downstairs. I think Katy likes it downstairs because it's much cooler and she is a long haired cat, although she will likely be shaved sometime soon. I've been managing my time between both of them. I am currently upstairs with Mia curled at my side. Mia is much more cuddly, though not more affectionate, than Katy. Katy loves to be loved and petted, though she won't actively seek it.

I really wish at least one of my parents were home. The weather sucks, too.

In insanely fabulous news, however, my Pheny is in Montana and will be here in five short days!!!! Eeee!!! *is ecstatic* I also got to speak to my katekat1010 today, and that always makes me a happy EB.

I have new kitties! The pictures are really bad because they're both excited and jumping on everything and getting into everything. They're just everywhere. And Mia? Is totally the domme. Katy, however, is the one who's going to get into trouble as far as getting into things she shouldn't, however. She's the jumper of the bunch.

(i.e., a black cat)...also a long-haired, kinda scraggly, grey cat. Yup! We ended up getting two. Mia, who is a one year old "pistol" and Kitty Grey, whom we shall call Katy, who is a five year old sweetheart.

We won't be able to bring them home until tomorrow, as Katy needs her rabies shot. We didn't want to bring Mia home tonight for fear that she'd get a Queen of the House complex and try to lord over Katy.

I am, to be EB, terrified. There was much evil laughing going on when the people working at the shelter found out we were taking Mia. There were also comments made along the lines of it seems like Mia had been there forever. I have a feeling we're gaining a hellion. Katy, however, seems very sweet and was totally loving me up.

Will have pictures of the two of them up tomorrow when I get them home.

And jesus, did y'all ever post a lot. Sheesh! Not sure if any of you realized I was gone, but I was. Since Wednesday morning, Dad and I have been traipsing about the far regions of Montana. We're talking eastern, shit-hole Montana, here. Not the pretty, mountainous regions they show you in the tourist brochures.

Despite, nay, because of our locations, a great time was had by all. Except for the little things--migraine headache (which actually did suck and sent me to the Glendive ER), flat tires (which was my first, and, I think I handled it quite well), and a distinctive lack of strawberry waffles (no, really, I had to go to three different places just to get strawberry waffles, not to mention the fact that, this entire trip, I've had a helluva time getting what I ordered in restaurants)--it was a wonderful trip.

Even the scary $55/night indie motel turned out to be pretty cool. Not the best place, and it smelled like...an independent motel...you know the smell, but the place was clean, and housekeeping let me stay until 1:30pm when check-out was 11:00am (I had a headache and they had no open rooms). It was also the second best place we stayed on the trip. The best place being a Super 8. That should tell you the quality of motels at which we stayed, lol.

The worst part of the trip was coming home to no Sassy. I can't wait until we get New Kitty.

I'm now thoroughly exhausted and want to curl up into a little ball and go to sleep, which I shall do just as soon as I hit the post button.

I have to keep telling myself it was only Friday that she died and it's okay to still be in mourning.

Anyway, this post is more of a PSA. Do not, I repeat do not listen to Yesterday whilst in mourning. Bawling might occur. At least I was in the bath tub. Baths are always a good place for a cathartic cry.

In good news, Pheny posted something! Proof that I do, in fact, have a best friend, even if she's a bit LJ shy at the mo'. Even better news, she'll be here in less than two weeks. Here. As in at my house. With a little luck, we will also have a new addition then, too.

Okay, I'm off to wash clothes and other chores I really need to do (e.g., gather up Sassy's cat toys).

I watched Hiatus last night (season three finale of NCIS). I would have died twice over. Once, because the first thing they gave Gibbs was succinylcholine. I don't have the enzyme to process this. It basically would put me in a coma. Twice, was because, as he woke up from his coma, they shot him full of morphine, to which I am allergic. Thank heavens I have a nifty MedicAlert bracelet warning against this.

We finally got the call from the vet this afternoon. The news was Not Good. Basically, there's a bunch of stuff we can do to her, from chemo to feeding tubes, but none of them will cure the cancer. We can buy her up to a year or more...however...the chance of this is slim and since she's not eating and drinking, she probably only has a couple of days left anyway.

The doctor said if she were a human now is when they'd attach her to a morphine drip to keep her out of her misery while she died. As it is, we'll probably euthananise (is that what you call it?) her in the next few days. I'm going to pick up a little explanation of everything tomorrow.

Mum's friend and her son came over today to help spruce up the lawn. Her son mowed the lawn(!) whilst she and I planted flowdies in the two planters in the front yard. Here's hoping the deer don't get them. *crosses fingers*

In other news, I apologize for not replying to the comments re Sassy. They are so very appreciated, but I broke down in tears when I tried replying to them. I might attempt it when it's not so fresh in my mind.

Sassy is home from the hospital!! And according to the vet (a new one as the other vet was told by her doctor to go on maternity leave), she's not in any pain. Although if she starts displaying signs of pain, there is medicine to give her.

Okay, last post until about sassy until we find out results.

In other news, my mom's friend and I are going to pot the flowers in our flower pots out front. This is a surprise for my mum. She'll be totally thrilled (I hope)!

Also, watched "Dogma." Man, that is one great show. Also watched "Bridget Jones's Diary." Another winner. I decided not to watch NCIS. Too dramatic for what I need. Have also been reading kitten fic which, by definition, is cute and fluffy.

Got back from the vet. Her "gut feeling" is that it is indeed cancer. We won't know for certain nor will we know how well it can be treated until Monday/Tuesday. The vet's concerned that the lack of eating/drinking is what's going to get her first, though.

She's only 14. I am so not ready to lose her.

I got so got up in the bad news, I forgot to mention the good news: she comes home tomorrow! We'll get to give her loads of love regardless of what happens.

Got back from the vet. The results are Not Good. Her stomach lining has considerably thickened in two months' time. Now there's something showing up in her xray. They think it might be stomach cancer. They're going to do the exploratory procedure tomorrow morning.

If it's just small, they may be able to treat it w/ cortisone and chemotherapy. If it's spread, well...she's had a good 14 years. Let's just say I am not doing well. At all.

I'll keep you all posted.

rather, wish sassy luck? She's been eating hardly anything for about a week. In the past few days, she's stopped eating full stop. She didn't even eat the tuna or the milk we set out for her just to give her SOME sort of Calories.

She has to go to the vet's today and they're going to keep her overnight. I hate when she is away from home overnight...this time especially is going to suck as my parents are leaving tonight and won't be back until sunday. I likely won't get much sleep tonight for worry.

At least it's my fave vet who will be working on her. Granted, they're all good, but this one is the nicest to Sassy.

So yeah, I'm one worried EB. *frets*

I went to bed just after midnight, but am now up at 3:30ish because I don't feel well. This has to be the massive amounts of coffee I consumed today. We talking gallons of the stuff. It appears to be my new habit. I think I'm going to switch to decaf. Part of the reason I can't sleep is that I'm sleeping w/ Sassy, and she was being a total bedhog. Plus, I'm always afraid she's going to barf on the bed.

Today is the official beginning of the 2nd week of summer_of_giles! The first week brought some absolutely amazing Giles-y work. I forgot just how awesome it is to have Giles-y goodness every day.
