My LJ is actually friends-only now - I make hardly any public posts at all, so if you're not on my flist you're missing out. So if you care to, comment here if you friend me and I'll add you back.

I always run out of time and for the past year I have been checking my flist sporadically at best, but I read it when I have time, so don't think I don't care (I do - a little). If you haven't already, I suggest you check out my user info before friending me, just to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. o_O

Okay, obviously I wasn't on LJ that much for, like, four years, so I have no idea what's going on.

Can someone please explain to me what's with the sudden, massive hate for LJ?

I'm hearing Strikethrough '07, Ponderosa, SixApart, banning...?

Apparently they hate HP fandom and people are deleting their LJs in protest?

I get that Ponderosa was banned for HP art, but what is this Strikethrough stuff and all that?

I don't know if people have already seen this or not, but this video is hilaaaarious and I think every Harry Potter fan should see it. Especially if you like rap.

I finished reading it almost a day ago but I think I'm still digesting. I've read other people's opinions on my flist and myspace and facebook but I need a bit of time to think.

In any case, there was one major suck: no post on Saturdays.

Indeed, there is no mail delivery here on Saturdays, so I was forced to wait until Monday afternoon to pick up my copy of HP&DH from the mail room.

Started reading around 4PM Monday, took breaks for work and food, and stayed up all night to finish around 7AM.

Overall, I loved it. I was very, very happy with it.

Specific thoughts including spoilers to come later...

PS - Unrelated but does anyone else ever look back at old LJ posts and cringe thinking "OMG I can't believe I really used to be like that"? Cuz I sure do.

Release date was July 13th but now the website and Yahoo! Movies say it's the 11th.

Someone please tell me what are the real dates, and what's with the confusion?

Why are there two different dates out and which one's for sure?

Cuz I'm down for midnight showings but my friend has to get off work.
