Palin is the anti-christ! [26 Sep 2008|12:35am]

This woman is a JOKE. McCain must have been Voodoo'd into picking her. (but then again he IS the walking dead...)

I was once a devout NO-VOTER and after being served Jury duty(curses!) I realized I might as well register. Even if it means nothing at least I can say I partook of this here hootenanny!

nervous! [18 Sep 2008|12:54pm]
[ mood | sick ]

This bank situation has me worried. I would hate to see Washington Mutual's possible demise cause my funds to be locked and leave me unable to pay my bills....I am so reliant on debit cards that cash is nearly obsolete to me!
As of today I took from savings and paid my credit card 100% so that is off my mind for good. Still some things to worry about such as the monthly cable and cell phone bill... after seeing what happened with that worthless IndyMac bank I am a bit concerned. At least I am not some rich fool not considering FDIC insurance, investing more than $100,000 into one establishment...as if I would ever have that now! hah!

High school taught me well in the end and I thank a select few teachers for their good common sense lessons. As if the subject matters even counted, there really should just be a "Guide to Life" class. :P

in other news,
[info]most_inane_uno has decided to stay as our roommate. My old mum must calm her crazy attitide and help us sort her packrat possessions out of his room (no other renter would put up with that crap!) She admitted she was so thankful to have him, she is just a grumpy old lady.
I am thrilled because I trust him with my home, my possessions and my life. He is a true friend and it is really hard to find anyone as worthy to share a home with.

I can't wait for this year to end and things to be back on track. :)

Translations from McCains website [11 Sep 2008|01:49pm]
From Tim's blog.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Translations from McCains website
Okay...we all know that politicians are some clever, sneaky bastards and have ways of making terrible policy sound great. McCain is actually pretty good at it. He even fooled my republican parents! So I've decided to do a public service in my attempts to translate the doubletalk on McCain's site. Here are a few select tidbits, since I could go on about this stuff all day long.
Climate Policy Should Be Built On Scientifically-Sound, Mandatory Emission Reduction Targets And Timetables.
This means that he will use research in policy formation from republican funded research institutions...rather than legitimate scientific bodies like the IPCC and the National Academy of Sciences. There is a plethora of information on the internet about this. I've written a couple papers on these issues myself...email me and i'll send them to you.
There is a darker side to the Internet. Along with the access and anonymity of the Internet have come those who would use it to peddle child pornography and other sexually explicit material and to prey upon children.
He will use child pornography as justification for government monitoring of the internet.
John McCain has been a leader in pushing legislation through Congress that requires all schools and libraries receiving federal subsidies for Internet connectivity to utilize technology to restrict access to sexually explicit material by children using such computers. While the first line of defense for children will always be strong and involved parents, when they send their child to school or drop their child off at the library, parents have the right to feel safe that someone is going to be looking out for their children.
What he doesn't mention is that those K-12 public school internet filters actually filter out nearly half of the internet, making life more difficult for kids doing research on the net. Again, its simply justification to further his christian moralist agenda.
Stem cell research offers tremendous hope for those suffering from a variety of deadly diseases - hope for both cures and life-extending treatments. However, the compassion to relieve suffering and to cure deadly disease cannot erode moral and ethical principles.
For this reason, John McCain opposes the intentional creation of human embryos for research purposes. To that end, Senator McCain voted to ban the practice of "fetal farming," making it a federal crime for researchers to use cells or fetal tissue from an embryo created for research purposes. Furthermore, he voted to ban attempts to use or obtain human cells gestated in animals. Finally, John McCain strongly opposes human cloning and voted to ban the practice, and any related experimentation, under federal law.
This means that if something entirely scientific that could help save millions of people doesn't correspond with his subjective moral values, then he will outlaw it. (Did he forget that it is the job of congress to do that, not the president?)
The family represents the foundation of Western Civilization and civil society and John McCain believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman. It is only this definition that sufficiently recognizes the vital and unique role played by mothers and fathers in the raising of children, and the role of the family in shaping, stabilizing, and strengthening communities and our nation.
This means that he'll never equal marriage rights for gays. It also means that he is pro-life. When ever politicians mention "family values" ...nine times out of ten what they really mean is "christian values"
John McCain will commit our country to expanding domestic oil and natural gas exploration. The current federal moratorium on drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf stands in the way of energy exploration and production. John McCain believes it is time for the federal government to lift these restrictions and work with states to put our own reserves to use. There is no easier or more direct way to prove to the world that we will no longer be subject to the whims of others than to expand our production capabilities.
This means he would start tear up the Arctic National Wild Life Refuge (ANWR) like a high school football player and his girlfriend on prom night.
John McCain's Cap and Trade Policy
John McCain Proposes A Cap-And-Trade System That Would Set Limits On Greenhouse Gas Emissions While Encouraging The Development Of Low-Cost Compliance Options. A climate cap-and-trade mechanism would set a limit on greenhouse gas emissions and allow entities to buy and sell rights to emit, similar to the successful acid rain trading program of the early 1990s. The key feature of this mechanism is that it allows the market to decide and encourage the lowest-cost compliance options.
Now this one really cracks me up. There was an issue brought to senate called the Kyoto protocol that proposed this exact strategy, yet him and all of the other republicans voted against it.
Thats it for now. Don't even get me started on Palin. If I could put AIDS in a squirtgun, I'd shoot her in the face with it.
"Barack Obama can't help it if he's a magna cum laude Harvard grad and you're a Wal-Mart shopper who resurfaces driveways with your brother-in-law. Americans are so narcissistic that our candidates have to be just like us. That's why George Bush is president."
the sun. it burns. :( [02 Sep 2008|06:42pm]
[ mood | burnt ]
I have always done well to cover up and not be burned by the evil sun but this horrible week my sunscreen slathering failed me and I did not think to wear a long sleeve shirt in such heat....We had a garage sale to end all sales... ugh. I worked my ass off to deal off all this old crap from the depths of my moms house. I sold most of it all for next to nothing, which did the trick and I made a pretty penny. I am now feverishly sick from the burns and actually fainted from some sort of heat stroke at the end of the day. From now on I must always be covered head to toe if I *might* be out in the sun for more than 30 mins...
My friend [info]azurien was a real trooper to handle my INSANE mother and her outbursts. I really know who my best friend is now after that ordeal... *shudders*
At the end of it she was so good to find an Aloe Vera plant growing and inform me that I could smear this wondrous plant all over me to stop the pain. It works wonders and I will be doing this for a week straight! :P
on a second note: People at garage sales are among the most selfish, hideously disgusting breeders on this planet. I hate humanity more than ever now. :(
This class cost me a bit so I have no other option but success!!
I WILL NOT FAIL!
THANKS A LOT EBAY!! [21 Aug 2008|04:43pm]
Now that ebay has drastically changed their policy ONCE AGAIN and under short notice as usual, my work's once well managed business plans are destroyed. We can no longer function at anything but a loss. The manufacturers are also increasing costs. New rules on product value will become enforced within the future and you will not be able to find "good deals" on any nice products other than used sale... so much for a "Free Market".
My boss has no choice but to lay off everyone but the 2 store employees... I will miss this job It was the most positive and occupying I have ever had. We are all still good friends and understand this loss, he will be in debt and recovering for awhile himself.
Of course bad things always come in bunches, I cried all night for my silly dog... I am going to miss her! :(
On to the next options I will go, but I will never sell on ebay again.
jury duty adventures and ramblings. [14 Jul 2008|02:01pm]
[ mood | anxious ]
So in a panic of my call sunday night I found out I had jury duty TODAY, the same day that I work my butt off at the job and start summer school algebra... (yeah when the eff will I pass THAT already...)
Thank GOODNESS they had an overstock of jurors and I was carrying my algebra book with paper pile, the nice desk lady saw it and said she could get me out at lunch with my certificate. :)
So there is still a lil good left in society right? Yes.
Now can I get this damn math behind me for a change? Too bad I have never cheated in my life on anything or this could have been done and over a year ago. *shakes fist at the cheaters who are probably smarter than me*
Thank you Fermi for trying to help me, I appreciate your seemingly everlasting patience with my pea-brain!
All I can say right now is that having stable work is the greatest feeling ever, the more I see people struggle for jobs even with their college degrees the more I think college can wait a little bit before I waste all my money and end up jobless.
Once I pinpoint what degree I really want things will go smooth...
My mom REALLY needs to stop relying on me for money, I am never even home now and her constant nagging and stressful desperation is starting to get at me again. She has made no effort to get a real job these past years and relying on renters can only go so far with this stuggling economy.
Thank you good friends who cross their fingers for me!
I owe Bridget one for the finger-crossing that saved me from a long stay in jury duty. ;)
edit: AZURIEN WHY ARE THEY NOT CALLING YOU TO JURY DUTY? It's your most favoritest thing!! sheesh!!!
ugh! [08 Jul 2008|12:13am]
[ mood | anxious ]
Starting the 14th of this month I will be goin' crazy for good.
Algebra summer class begins the 14th. My tutor who is also my co-worker will be out of town for the first week, me and the boss will be overtiming it to get everything done everyday...and to top it off I have Jury duty that I will not be able to weedle out of this time. I am just dreading them wasting my time while my boss is stressed handling the 5 ebay accounts alone, thinking I may not be such a good employee after all. Shoot. :[
I have so much Math Anxiety that I look just like the shaking kitty icon in this journal...
grumble mumble.
...and the Best Man-Critter Award goes to... [22 Jun 2008|09:38pm]
[ mood | calm ]
My Handsome [info]fermi.
This past week he has used his expertise and helped me rearrange my crowded little bedroom, advised and helped me get much needed organizational furniture pieces, dealt with my bitchin' in this wretched above 100 degree heat, helped me figure out my stolen cell phone situation, been there to give a hug when my father is cruel to me, driven all over the place to work out at the gym with me and best of all him being here has given me someone to truly love and look forward to spending many more years with.
I have never felt so positive and cheerful about my little life until now.
The Love, I has it. :)
(stolen from somewhere, but ugh those were good times. :P
You're a 90's kid if:
You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"
You just cant resist finishing this... "Iiiiiiin west philladelphia born and raised..."
You remember TGIF on ABC. Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.
"Miss Susie had a steam boat, the steam boat had a bell..miss suzie went to heaven the steamboat went to hell_o operator please give me number 9 and if you disnconnect me i'll kick you from behind the fridgerator, there was a piece of glass, miss suzie sat upon it and broke her little ass_k me no more questions, please tell me no more lies the boys are in the bathroom zipping up their flies, are in the meadows the bees are in the park .......................... miss suzie and her boyfriend are kissing in the D-A-R-K- D-A-R-K D-A-R-K dark dark dark is like a movie, dark is like a show. dark is like a tv set and this is all i know!!"
You remember when Kurt Cobain, 2Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.
You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
You begged for some GAK, and when you got that they came out with scented GAK, and when you got that they came out with funny scented GAK.....
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)
You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...
You used to lisnen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.
When everyone wanted to be a character in Mortal Kombat
Captain Planet.Transformers, GIJOE,
You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.
When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being Tommy.
You remember when super nintendo's became popular.
You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.
You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"
"I've fallen and I can't get up"
You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates
Two words... Trapper Keeper.
You wore socks over leggings scrunched down
"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
You played and/or collected "Pogs" and who remembers GARBAGE PALE KIDS???
You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles
Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)
You remember when the new Beanie Babies and talking Elmo were always sold out.
You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.
You remember a time before the WB.
You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
You know the Macarena by heart.
"Talk to the hand" ... enough said
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
You remember dreaming to be on a Nickelodeon game show: Double Dare, Nick Arcade, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Fun House, Figure It Out...
When we were younger:
Before the MySpace frenzy...
Before the Internet & text messaging...
Before Sidekicks & iPods...
Before MIKE JONES...
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...
...Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.
When 2Pac and Biggie were alive.
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.
Way back.
Before we realized all this would eventually disappear
Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!
