so i removed a bunch of people from my list who i haven't heard from online or in real life for quite a while. nothing personal, just cleaning. if you want to be added back, depending on who you are, that's probably fine. just comment, i'm not holding any raw feelings here. i just didn't want to keep people on the list if we never ever communicate and/ or have interest in each other's entries.

oh and side note...if you happen to make a huge lj diatribe about how you're cutting me and a couple of our other real-life friends loose in a bulleted, three person list...don't fucking wave to me when you see me at the mall. that makes things awkward for me. it took every ounce i had to not flip you off while talking to the person i was with. thank you.

and i don't know what it is, but for some reason i must be upsetting a lot of people with what i casually say with absolutely no intent of doing so. first the podhoretz comment (which has been settled and is over and done with now, thank God), now an email to my mom. i asked her what she meant by something and she said i shouldn't "start this again." start what? i honestly don't mean to cause half the upset i seem to lately.

Soundtrack: "The Pyramid Song"- Radiohead
so here i go again back down the dark spiral to depression. i think emotions are overrated. perhaps i should just remain neutral to everything. i should harden my heart and never be attracted to anyone again. b/c apparently all it does is bother people, and all i can ever be is a buddy. so i think i'll just try as hard as i can not to be interested in finding someone anymore. b/c it's just not going to happen. b/c the second i'll think i have found someone worthwhile, the speech will roll on. i think i'm the only non-friend relationship i have (in a non-perverted fashion, i know how it sounded).

and in other news...John Podhoretz is an arrogant man. i hate the right wing smug mudslingers. at least i can tolerate the ones from the left wing. but i guess that's all personal preference.

For those of you who don’t know and do care, I am in a play production at concordia university, Ann arbor, MI (4090 Geddes Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48108 for all you mapquesters). Tickets should be in the ballpark of $5, and you can call them@(734) 995-4612 to get tickets. It’s going to be a good show, and I’d like to see a few of you there (I’d LOVE to see all of you there).

The show is entitled “The Lady’s Not For Burning,” and a chap named Christopher Fry wrote it. It’s about a sordid state of affairs involving a suicidal veteran, a witch being threatened to be burned, a party, an engagement, and a riot in the streets. Love triangles and parallelograms abound. I will be playing the part of the uber-conservative mayor of town (yeah that’s NOT typecasting folks, no sarcasm intended). His name is Hebble Tyson, and he has somewhat of a cold, so he sneezes a lot (“Tiresome Catarrh!!”). So that’s fun. I gross people out with my affectionately dubbed snottles.

So yes, all that read this are invited, and if any of you bring a camera when you come, I would like some pictures.

i just connected lost in translation back to itself:

(Lost in Translation) Giovanni (Mod Squad) Claire Danes (T3) Arnold Schwartzenegger (Twins) Danny DeVito (Big Fish) Steve Buscemi (Ghost World) Thora Birch (Ghost World) Scarlett Johannsson (Lost in Translation)

Wow, I’ve just been realizing some possible social implications from the game Donkey Kong (the original). Let’s see, enlist an Italian to endanger his life to defeat a big monkey on top of a construction site so the pretty white princess might be rescued? This sounds like it could be a might prejudiced against Italians and blacks. Now I say this half-jokingly from a moment of entirely bored pondering, but when you think about it, it works. And don’t get me started on the Mario games themselves, they’re just nuts, the poster-game for acid. Don’t get me wrong either, Mario is one of my most-loved game characters. The craziness is fabulous.

Those of you who’ve known me for a while know I do this a lot. For instance, I still think Shaggy and Scooby were just really stoned all the time, I think that Wally Gator and snagglepuss were homosexual partners, and, speaking of which, he-man was also a homosexual (or at least the prince was).

The world of Mario is also very reminiscent of pre-civil war America. Think about it, they just pluck hapless mushroom people (e.g. toad) from their peaceful, native area to endanger their lives of being kidnapped by a gigantic demonic dino-turtle and placed in subsequent trap-filled castles to distract everyone’s favorite Italian plumber.

They also place their yoke of tyranny around the necks of yoshis of all colors, only to make them ingest unsafe, untested food product while it’s still alive. And when it suits them to jump to a higher cliff by jumping off the yoshi in midair, allowing the yoshi to fall to its doom down a chasm of 16-bit terror, they do it. “Oh, I’ll just go get another one out of the next question mark block.” Oh sure guys. It’s just that simple, is it? Nevermind the lives of the countless yoshis you’ve left in your wake of mushroom-popping, flower picking, star touching ignorance (remember now, I’m on a tyrade, but I’m joking folks).

Don’t get me started on kirby, he doesn’t even exist, and he’s an unsafe food sucking madpuff. And I find it no coincidence that the lil orange evil mushrooms with feet are called “goombas.” That’s a racial slur very deliberately being put into the minds of our youth.

lol This just goes to show you how you can find hidden meanings in anything if you want to, even if they’re not really there.

And now…quotes from one of my favorite movies (Jeff= ME, big time) )

omg, i'm so excited, in october 2004 they are going to release a Nightmare Before Christmas game for PS2. it's going to be a playable sequel taking place one year after the events of the film. Oogie Boogie is resurrected, and is attacking halloween town and christmas town with an army of skeletons he's gathered. Jack is in hiding, not in halloween town or christmas town, but must come out of hiding to stop Boogie once and for all. He is armed with three costumes, each having different attacks: his normal clothes w/ a whiplike weapon called "the rubber soul," the pumpkin king clothes with fire-launching capabilities, and the santa suit, in which he can throw various presents to cripple the enemy. this will be VERY cool, b/c burton, as far as i know, is still involved w/ it.

in a related story, i cannot wait for jon davis (lead singer of korn)'s video game, Pop Scars. it will be a fighting game where music artists (most friends of Davis) will duke it out. i know what you're thinking, it's going to be shit. well davis said he wants it to be more like a mortal kombat or soul calibur type game, like a legit fighting game, not just some crappy fighting engine thrown together so people can play as celebrities fighting. first announced characters are: members of korn, members of staind, marilyn manson, and mary j. blige (?). blige's reps were unavailable for comment. jon does, however, want it to be a wide array, not just the loud, angst-ridden, kick-you-in-your teeth raprock. each player will have their own arena designed to fit their personality and style. arenas will also have traps in them that players can use to their advantage. all character designs are being done by a comic book artist to boot!! but, the game is currently in the early stages of development, so we probably won't be seeing it for a while.

You are Form 5, Dragon: The Weaver.

"And The Dragon seperated the virtuous from
the sinful. He tore his eyes from his sockets
and used them to peer into the souls of those
on trial to make a judgement. He knew that
with endless knowledge came endless
responsibility."

Some examples of the Dragon Form are Athena
(Greek), St. Peter (Christian), and Surya
(Indian).
The Dragon is associated with the concept of
intelligence, the number 5, and the element of
wood.
His sign is the crescent moon.

As a member of Form 5, you are an intelligent and
wise individual. You weigh options by looking
at how logical they are and you know that while
there may not always be a right or wrong
choice, there is always a logical one. People
may say you are too indecisive, but it's only
because you want to do what's right. Dragons
are the best friends to have because they're
willing to learn.

why does my job suck so much? i have to put up w/ dickheads on the phone who have no idea they owe us, or they're just plain rude. i have to work under bosses who are wanting to be your best friend one day and want to gossip about/ fire you the next day.

they sent an email around today that all "personal paraphenalia" had to be taken down out of our cubicle today, no more internet on breaks & lunches (which i am rebelling right now), no more blue jeans, and i was 20 mins late back from lunch today b/c i got lost going to get my textbook and it was a one time thing. i asked for my timecard to be initialled that there was a good reason and my boss got mad at me. now, this would be understandable, if only they DIDN'T tell us that if we had a good reason, come to them to get it initialled.

then they turn around and try to be fake nice to me to raise morale?!?! yeah, you know what i say to them? "FUCK YOU." i have a nice long weekend to start looking for a new job.

oh and btw, my mom no longer gets compensated for the fact she has to ride the shuttle bus to and from work and park her car in a lot bfe away. this means she cannot ever leave the building, she has to show up a half hour early and leave a half an hour late. the email also said that the shuttle folks will NOT be getting compensated any longer. fuck them man.

i think my friend tony put it best, "i have to check myself when answering the phone, i almost wanna say 'anal retention center, may i help you?' this place turned from laid back one day to 'ass puckered tighter than a snaredrum' overnight. they don't need to tell me my business, i know where the bear shit in the buckwheat!! guess i better look for somewhere to move on to, and then send joe [a boss] a nice big fat email about what i think of him and his 'policies.'" -Anthony BOwler

so i had philosophy class last night. turns out it's a special section called feminist philosophy. but really, all that means is it encompasses more than just rich dudes from centuries ago. it was very interesting. i understood everything pretty well.

and the teacher is hilarious. i thought he was a professor i liked from CUAA, but when i got there, he was a completely different person w/ the same name. but it's funny b/c this guy is open about the fact he has a hearing loss, so whenever somebody would say something, he'd either repeat it back differently or not hear it at all. example: )

then there's his BS1/BS2 theory. this is, Bullshit 1 or Bullshit 2. bullshit 1 is when someone says something so crazy, you say "pfuh...bullshit." bullshit 2 is when you're forced to back up your beliefs in order for them to be recognized as valid and you think you shouldn't have to. like "fuck you...that's bullshit!!" like, that's a question he asks in discussion. i think i'ma like this class.

but i can't wait for international film class tomorrow.
