anencephalic babies in jars equals fun [Oct. 1st, 2008|04:07 pm]
[music |Misfits-Collection 1]

What a great lil' afternoon.
Drove into Philly and met up with [info]vampirepig13
and went to the Mutter Museum.
I coulda spent the whole day in there just looking at the pickled punks
and wax models of eye diseases.
Oddly the cross sections of heads made me crave head cheese or a tongue sandwich.
We also learned that syphilis will fuck you up baaaaaaaaaaaaaad
and if you had a prolapsed uterus pre-1900's the medical options were pretty gnarley.

Now the next museum day trip is gonna have to be
to the Frazetta Museum.
Ooh, I gots goose pimples just thinkin' about that one.

S.C.U.M. [Sep. 4th, 2008|10:52 pm]
As many of you prob'ly know I'm a HUGE Andy Warhol fan.
Basically he sorta popped my art/illustration cherry when I read Popism in the 60's.
Anywhoo, I knew that the first building I lived in, in NYC (31 Union Square West),

was right next to the original Factory (33 USW),
the same building that Valerie Solanas shot ol' Andy in.

I also thought it was pretty nifty that from my window I could see the next Factory (860 Broadway) on the north end of the park.
But a couple days ago I found out that the second building that I lived in, Marlton House on 8th street was the same building Valerie had lived in.

In fact my apt was on the exact same floor...damnit if I could remember my room # , I would know if it was the same room (she was in 214).
Pretty wild wacky koinkydinky stuff. I wish I had known then what I know now. Woulda appreciated it a lot more.
That building had a lotta history in it...Kerouac stayed there, Lilian Gish,
Lenny Bruce lived there when he was being tried for obscenity, Mickey Rourke was there when he had a real face.

And back then I just thought it was nice to be so close to the Washington Square Park, The Scrap bar and Gray's Papaya.

We won't hurt you (but we won't go away) [Aug. 25th, 2008|12:10 pm]
I've finally come out of the Mironiuk compound for a breath of fresh air.
Been working my little tuckus off on some nifty projects.
I just completed work on the new SPiT LiKE THiS album.
Collaborating with Lord Zion was a real treat and a helluva lot of fun.
The brain juices were squirtin' overtime on this one.
It's going to be released on both cd and vinyl so we put a lot of detail in it.

The 12" vinyl version is going to also open up with a gatefold
showing even more stuff )

Jersey Shore [May. 18th, 2008|11:51 am]

We had a crazy cool day yesterday.
We met up with [info]paganvamp82 , [info]vampirepig13 and her parents and bro
for a beautiful day at Ocean Grove.
Large amounts of ice cream were enjoyed

We also got to see how the restoration was going in Asbury Park
The old carousel and casino are coming along nicely

But perhaps one of the great discoveries
was the most awesome christmas ornament we've ever seen.
A gay merman cowboy called Clint!
I can tell we're gonna have to get more.
I've got my eye on the leather merman with the cosmo too.

oh yeah...I also shaved my head.
I look like a psycho convict now.

early Bryan Adams disco [May. 4th, 2008|11:41 am]

Who woulda thought that wacky canuck
was originally a disco guy
who just wanted you to let him take you dancing.

Weirdest thing is, this is the first song
of his that I can actually tolerate
if not enjoy even.

How did I not know that Takashi Murakami's
retrospective opened at the Brooklyn Museum
last weekend!?!
I was distraught when I missed it at the MOCA in LA.
I MUST get there right away!
gasp!
Gasp!

on a sadder note, today is the 10 year anniversary of Wendy O Williams' death:(
I'm sure she's smashin' tvs and blowin' up cars with St Peter.
