Quite a few people have added me on here because of Modulate, including some who I haven't a clue who you are! This is my personal journal...I try to keep it fairly manageable, not end up with 450 friends and then skip most of the posts, so I do pretty much keep it to personal RL friends only. All the Modulate posts (at least those that have public info) are going to be posted to modulateinfo .

Apparently I can announce this now.  :D

Modulate have signed with Metropolis Records for North America, making us label mates with such luminaries as Front 242, Gary Numan, MSI, The Birthday Massacre, VNV Nation, Combichrist, Covenant, Peter Murphy, Meat Beat Manifesto, Die Krupps, KMFDM, and just about anybody who is anybody in the US goth/industrial scene.     

Detonation will be released on the 23rd Sept 2008 via Infacted Recordings (Europe and RoW) and Metropolis Records (North America). 

In yr club...kickin yr ass.

One week and counting...

Someone asked me the other day could they see a photo of my studio...well, there you go. 

Hoping to head over to the Die Krupps/Faderhead/Uberbyte show at Sheffield Corp on Sat 2nd Feb.

Is anybody driving over that could drop me back in Manchester?

Trains back are even more appalling than usual that Sat with even the regular services not running.

We are only at #55, but then I look at who is above us and how big name most of them are.  Then I look at how many other bands are above us with their first release and no fanbase and actually, #55 is pretty damn good!  These things always tend to bias towards the later releases, ours came out in March. Then I look at who is below us and we seem to be on the big playing field. It's a weird point where the artists who you looked up to as influences are now your peers.

Well, it's been a hell of a year for Modulate.  We announced our signing in late Dec last year.  In between then and now we released our first EP, we toured Europe with VNV Nation, the EP garnered a load of great reviews, reached #3 in the Greek Alt Charts, #6 in the German DAC chart, got club and radio play all over the globe, supported Grendel at a sold out show @ Sheffield Corp, then went off on the epic 7 week tour of America supporting Combichrist.  Had an amazing reaction over there, met so many amazing people too.  From March to Sept we played 50 shows in 8 countries to 30/40k people.  Came back home and have had my head down working on the album for the last 3 months.  It's nearly there.  Been looking towards 2008 now and putting plans in motion for that. 

Anybody interested or should I just not bother organising one?

Not entirely sure how this process works as I don't speak German (Ozzy?) but apparently you can vote for us on the Official List to play WGT next year. :D

Olympia Peninsula, Washington State. Seattle is actually a long way inland on an inlet from the Pacific down the straight of Juan de Fuca. Seperating it from the Pacific Ocean is the Olympia Peninsula and the Olympic Mountains, a national park with some outstanding scenary.
