Сколько проблем и непоняток из-за того, что в своё время умные дядьки определили знак электрического заряда так, что заряд электрона оказался потом отрицательным. Был бы он положительным - было бы гораздо проще.

немного про статьи
Шеф должен был во вторник засабмитить статью, приглашённую в специальный выпуск Nanotechnology. Она про хитрые электрические контуры, которые сделал наш электроинженер для экспериментов. Я там среди второстепенных авторов, поскольку работал на его сетапе когда он был ещё в стадии тестировании - 2 года назад. Совсем скоро должна выйти (или хотя бы появится в инете) статья в ChemPhysChem, где я тоже в качестве второстепенных авторов - помогал со спектроскопией. Сейчас он по мимо всего остального дописывает многострадальную статью про проводимость алкандитиолов, где я тоже буду не первым. Эта пойдёт скорее всего в SMALL. Материала есть ещё на примерно 1.5 статьи (как они у нас пишутся) с моим первым авторством, ну и другие тоже подтянутся.

Cutting and sharpening carbon nanotubes using a carbon nanotube 'nanoknife'
A new method has been developed to precisely cut and to sharpen carbon nanotubes using a 'nanoknife', which is a short carbon nanotube adhered to a metal tip. The mechanism for the cutting and the sharpening was proposed to be local vaporization of carbon caused by Joule heating. The 'nanoknife' was also found useful to cut other nanotubes and nanowires. The cutting process was also found useful to construct complex carbon nanotube structures.

Nanoscale semiconducting silicon as a nutritional food additive
Very high surface area silicon powders can be realized by high energy milling or electrochemical etching techniques. Such nanoscale silicon structures, whilst biodegradable in the human gastrointestinal tract, are shown to be remarkably stable in most foodstuffs and beverages. The potential for using silicon to improve the shelf life and bioavailability of specific nutrients in functional foods is highlighted. Published drug delivery data implies that the nanoentrapment of hydrophobic nutrients will significantly improve their dissolution kinetics, through a combined effect of nanostructuring and solid state modification. Nutrients loaded to date include vitamins, fish oils, lycopene and coenzyme Q10. In addition, there is growing published evidence that optimized release of orthosilicic acid, the biodegradation product of semiconducting silicon in the gut, offers beneficial effects with regard bone health. The utility of nanoscale silicon in the nutritional field shows early promise and is worthy of much further study.

Еще про "нано"
A number of SPM lithographic methods have been reported.
Patterns can be made using an AFM tip to mechanically scratch away an organic thin film (nanoshaving). Nanografting has been used for nanostructure fabrication, for example, thiol-tethered nanoparticles and biomaterials in the nanoshaved patterns. Direct nanoscale patterning methodologies, such as dip-pen nanolithography, the nanopen "reader and writer" method, and conductive AFM nanolithography, have also constructed various organic and metal nanoparticle architectures. Recently, the galvanic deposition of metal after static plowing lithography of a polymer resist was used to prepare patterns of metallic nanostructures.
