Pretty new iPod is MY pretty new iPod.
I plugged him into Karim as soon as I got home and my poor baby proceeded to flip shit.
Thus, the iPod has been dubbed 'Hatem'.
Welcome to the family, Hatem!

“I have a gasp budget of like $25 for every 2 weeks because all I do is drive to work and occasionally drive to my friend's building but the $35 was usually pretty good. Yeah I got gas for $288 a gallon(?). My $35 filled me up like almost and I think I have like a, like a spontaneous orgasm of glory. Like it was amazing. That never happens. Usually it get, it get me most of the way but no wait, I had 4 and wait cushion on it. This is, it isn't kind of warm. I wish we would have a presidential election every yeah because every time it happens gas brings this thing to go down again. So it'll be really great if we could do that. Never mind the constitution or something. I'm, I'm not really sure but I'm ok with that. I really really am otherwise I'm going to work and I thought I can eat my breakfast because I'm ___ 8:30 in the morning. ___. Bye.”

OMG TEH EPIC POSTS BECOMES MAOR EPIC!!!! :DDD

Anyway, work was fine, but EXHAUSTING as we did shipment placement most of the night. I did finished "Call Me By Your Name". I have to say... I loved the first two parts, but the end just... struck me strangely. I didn't NOT like it, but I felt very unfulfilled once I got there. Otherwise, the book was beautiful and absolutely sexy. I'm going to start on "The Jesus Family Tomb" tomorrow.

Other than that, work is work. I open tomorrow, so I need to be crawling in bed right now.

Last night I ventured out with [info]that_shingo and [info]neo_rama to see "Of Montreal" at the 9:30 Club. It was a sold out show and the place was jam packed. I think Lamar said it best after the show: "They've ruined shows for us. How can anyone else come close to a performance like that? Tiger man? Giant chicken person? Dudes wearing shaving cream? C'mon!"

Last.fm in Journal Entries

Are you a last.fm user? The updated Music field on the Post an Entry page can now automatically fill in what you're listening to when you write the post. To enable this feature, fill in your last.fm username in the field under Contact Info on the Edit Profile page. This also adds a link to your last.fm profile on your LiveJournal Profile page. Then download the scrobbler client from last.fm. When it's installed, just click the Detect button by the Music field on the Post an Entry page and the scrobbler automatically pulls through the track information of what you're listening to on your music player or music program.

You can also use the feature without downloading the scrobbler client. If you're logged in and listening to last.fm over the Internet, click Detect to pull through the artist and title of the track playing. If the song changes while you're writing your entry, just click Detect again to update the Music field.

And for more musical accompaniment, last.fm also has a widget you can embed in your profile or a journal entry that displays what you're listening to in real time.

Increased Limits for Poll Results and Comments

Back in August we promised an increase in limits for poll results and comments. And now they're here. You can now view more than 2000 votes in the detailed view of poll results, and the limit for comments allowed for a post has been raised to 10,000, up from 5000. After the first 5000 comments, every comment will require a CAPTCHA.

Feedback Request on New Find Your Friends Feature

We're working on an optional feature that will make it easier for you to find out if existing friends in your web-based email contacts are LJ users. Once you find them, you'll be able to quickly add their journals to your Friends page. We know your privacy is very important to you, so we're interested in getting your feedback about this new feature. A full description, including the proposed privacy settings, is available in feedback. Let us know what you think.

India Travels Community

Have you explored the subcontinent? From the heights of the Himalayas to the beaches of Kerala, India is so vast and varied that you'll discover something new wherever you go, no matter how many people have been there before. We've partnered with travel writer Ajay Jain of Kunzum to create a community where you can share your stories, anecdotes, and tips about traveling in India. What was the most amazing thing you saw? Where did you go that can't be found with a Google search? Where do you want to go next? Selected entries will be considered for publication (with full credit, and only if you give permission) in travel books about India. So whether you've been to India, want to go to India, or aspire to write about India, you should take a trip over to [info]india_travels.

And More

There's lots of other stuff going on, too. See [info]lj_releases to get all the details.

Hello, I'm writing a new command-line client for LiveJournal. There
are no so much command-lines client for livejournal, the only one I'm
aware of is clive. My client is somewhat similar to clive (i.e. it
uses $EDITOR for typing posts, supports 'header' like options setting
and can work in non-interactive mode (i.e. read stuff via args and
from stdin). However, it has a bit different philosophy behind it. So
here's the main points:

From the pages of the original Goldfinger novel, I present Goldfinger's feelings on Koreans:

Goldfinger took the cat from under his arm and tossed it to the Korean who caught it eagerly – “I am tired of seeing this animal around. You may have it for dinner.” The Korean’s eyes gleamed.

Goldfinger's logic in only hiring Koreans:

“They are the cruelest, most ruthless people in the world… When they want women, street women are brought down from London, well-remunerated for their services and sent back. The women are not much to look at, but they are white and that is all the Koreans ask – to submit the white race to the grossest indignities.”

At least it's only the bad guys. As a counterpoint I give you Bond's views on Koreans:

Bond intended to stay alive on his own terms. Those terms included putting Odd-Job or any other Korean firmly in place, which in Bond’s estimation was lower than apes in the mammalian hierarchy.

Hmm. Bad example. Uh... His view on suffrage (which is not influenced at all by the fact that the woman in question rejected him sexually) will redeem him, surely:

Bond came to the conclusion that Tilly Masterson was one of those girls whose hormones had got mixed-up. He knew the type well and thought they and their male counterparts were a direct consequence of giving votes to women and “sex equality.” As a result of fifty years of emancipation, feminine qualities were dying out or being transferred to the males. Pansies of both sexes were everywhere, not yet completely homosexual, but confused, not knowing what they were. The result was a herd of unhappy sexual misfits – barren and full of frustrations, the women wanting to dominate and the men to be nannied. He was sorry for them, but he had no time for them.

Okay, so maybe Bond is an asshole too.

I do, however, intensely want to read this book. It sounds hilarious in the worst way.

About Me

My name is Christine. I'm fifteen years old. I wish I was older. I'm a junior at Patapsco High School. I have horrible taste in music, and slightly better taste in movies. I'm a mall rat and a scene kid and lj whore and a computer nerd.

I like to quote lines from Fight Club and Garden State, and I know all the words to every pop punk emo song. I like to pretend I'm deep and an intellectual. At times I'm cynical and sarcastic, and I have the new found ability to tell you off if you piss me off. I can go days without turning on my tv. I love curling up to a good book, or watching a nice indie movie.

I've been to more shows this past summer than you'll go to in your entire life, and I've heard of more random emo bands than you have. I'm good at faking and bad at lying. "I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake. The hand behind this pen reveals a failure everyday."

Likes & Dislikes

I love kissing and concerts, boy in and bands, malls and music and movies, I like starbucks and icecream and thunder storms, and I love it when I get butterflies in my tummy.

I hate when it's cold outside, I hate girls and crying, akward silences, and high school, drama and cliques, cliches and children, i hate bad coding and IE, liars and love letters, and i really hate irony.
