Ack... once again, I forget to keep this up on track. So much has gone on, and next week I will post some photos. It was the last day of school on Friday... So we will be settling into summer vacation... hahaha... Today we are going to head out to my dads house and have some dinner. Then later the kids and I will meet with their father. Then.... working on the house. I have been painting quite a bit, which is very pleasing. I am struggling a bit with my impending 40th birthday on Tuesday... I don't know why... just a milestone I guess. All in all, I feel pretty good. I miss my friend Bill who died this past November - he was 80, I believe. He had sent me a letter on my birthday for the past 20 years or so. This will be the first year without that. Anyway... don't want to make myself sad... so gotta think of somehting else... Anyway. I will write more later. Kel

OK, for mothers day I got 4 tickets... 11th row seats to go see Damien Rice July 3rd in Seattle! I LOVE DAMIEN RICE!!! I WOULD LOVE TO MEET HIM! So, if anyone can pull any strings so I could meet him... I would be forever greatful!!! woo hoo..... I am so excited!

11:28 am - I had such an awesome night painting....
Yep... it was great. I get so lost when I am there... I didn't get home until 2am again (although my studio is only 1 mile from my house). I really love that place. AND>>>>>> believe it or not... I spent some time washing out my brushes... I have hundreds of brushes.... even my favorites that are 50+ each... I had them sitting in solvent for nearly a year... I don't know why I do that... I am happy to say that it appears that I may recover about half of them... which makes me happy - kind? hahahaha... ahem... So I did that... put in the light bulbs... brought some good music - as usual... I pretty much stuck witht the Red Hot Chili Peppers... well, and Incubus... When I felt that my mood needed to be a little softer - for softer paintings... well, it was Norah Jones... well, when the CD didn't skip. But... all in all I completed about 15 paintings... I had some that had to be touched up. But I am happy. I think I am going to head to the studio again tonight - since I seem to be on a roll... And - really, when I am at the studio... rarely do I think about anything else than painting... it is refreshing - because my mind is so busy trying to figure out the answers to the univers most of the time - hahah. Today I am craving a ceasar salad from El Gaucho? I think that is the name... maybe I will go out for dinner this eveing... we will see. I am in the process of laying down cement board - so that I can get ready to put in the travertine! I am so excited to have this finished. Anyway. I will be listing more work on ebay today as well... I have so many paintings and I just need to get them out there. Ciao!

07:26 pm - Gearing up to go paint tonight....
I've had a great productive day... so... I am getting ready to head to the studio to paint all night - since the kids are with their dad, and I don't have to actually be up in the morning until 8am.... I work well at night - into the wee hours of the morn. I found some paintings here that I felt needed more ummph... so I will take thoes to paint over... and I am remembering music and light bulbs - duh! I listed a couple new works on ebay... thanks for lookin! Kel

I had this piece in my studio since November. It always catches my eye... I think it really represents - in the eyes how I feel.
So... I finally finished the carpet on my stairs... except the travertine risers on the first 3 steps... I came out pretty unscathed... only one blood blister - one hammer to the toe... and the thing that hurt was when I used the staple hammer and nailed my thumb to the step... that one nearly sent me a' spinnin.... So... ANyway.... much going on... I will be listing a bunch of work this week... good overcast weather to photograph in. I will be painting tonight - I need to go to the art store... note to self... to get more large canvas. I've got a lot to paint about.. Um.... I got a new cell which is cool. Anyway.... 02:16 pm - I painted until 3am this morning....
Wow.... there is nothing like the smell of oil paint... Last night, I ran out of tack strips to finish my carpet on the stairs, so I went up to paint... I had one lightbulb in the place... I listened to Pink Floyd - had a glass of the most rancid white wine EVER... but... painted 7 new pieces. Now... I was in a funky mood... therefore I decided to paint over some quite wonderful paintings in my book... but... the good news is that they look absolutely Fantastic!!! I had dropped my cell phone, and broke it... so it was actually quite nice not to hear it ring - it kept me in the moment... I tell you... when I sit there on the big puffy red couch - smelling oil - listening to great tunes... it is heaven. I feel so fortunate... When I am at the studio - I feel so completely me.... I could paint 24/7 - without missing a beat... it is truly where I lose myself - and it is exactly who I am... It made me feel so much better - since the past few weeks have had me in a funk. I will get to that another time... I really like the level I am getting to - on so many levels... regarding so many areas of my life... I still feel this void - something empty - something... raw... I don't know, within myself - that I feel needs to be fed. Yet.. I am not sure what that is... Oh well.... Kel

OK, so, I am trying to lift up this thin layer of plywood - that splits into these flying daggers each time I try to get under the million nails the contractor drove into it - *like that sentence?* Anyway.... as I was swinging away.... I missed the plywood and took it in my big toe - the fork part of the hammer.... geesh... doubled me over on that one - and then I started bleeding all over the place... nice.... then.... once I recovered - I was trying to lift this sheet - whenever I can get a pice larger than a piece of paper...I lifted - trying to pop the nails out - and boom... I got the hugest (is that a word?) cramp = under my right arm... I swear I ripped a muscle... hahaha - waaaa.... what in the hell am I trying to do to myself.... It looks good though - hopefully I will get it ready to lay out the - cement board by the weekend - then the travertine.... I hope it looks better than my attempt at the carpet -eh? ahhaha Someone please come over and knock some sense in me? Oh well.... I better get back to it - cause I think that probably my arm wont work in the morning.
It is a beautiful evening..... it is warm, with a slight breeze. I have had some great conversations with good friends lately - which is so satisfying. I am lucky.

09:09 am - Yeee Haaa!
Well, I did get to paint last night = until about 1:30am - it was nice.... I am excited about what I created. I painted 2 acrylic paintings, then half way done with one oil - well... I got the feeling down on the canvas... The only thing I hated - or was frustrated with, was that the only music I had there was on cd's that needed to be cleaned - so.... mid song - as Im belting out the tunes... the music stops = and I hear myself sing.... you know... sometimes there is not much more scarier a noise than that! hahahahah... so, I was a tad frustrated! I did get some new music the other day... geesh it was called black rebel motorcycle club? something like that - I like it... and also the Red Hot Chili Peppers.... and you all know how much I LOVE them! Hmm.... what else did I get? hmmmm.... Anyway... Yesterday I had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese for my son. We celebrated his birthday at Disneyland,,, but the little guy wanted a 'party, party' - It was nice... he enjoyed it...I don't like Chuck E Cheese - but.... it is taking me longer than what I expected to carpet my stairs.... I am nearly done - with very few war wounds. I did puncture myself with a tack strip - and didn't realize that I was bleeding all over the yellow carpet - but... I got it all up.... Anyway, that is why I didn't have the party at my home.... I can just eat that little guy up... what a sweet boy! Hmm..... What else.... I am excited to get up to the studio today to see my paintings again... it is so rewarding.... to paint = go away... then digest what I was feeling - then come back to take a look at what I was feeling the night before. I don't think I will get the time to go back to paint until Sunday night... I need to get some more large canvas though... I have some grand visions in my head - that I am feeling the need to get out... but... one I keep seeing in my mind is going to take much more planning.... and clean paint brushes! Oy Vey!

Here are a couple pics we took together - you know, the ones where I am holding the camera and trying to squish both our faces in? I hate photos of myself... but hey... whatever! I have a couple of us goofing around that I will post later... we always have such a great time together! OK, so now I have to get back to the carpet.
