Shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. George Carlin died. :( I was lucky enough to see him perform live about 4-5 years back. I'll miss you, you angry bastard.. Current Mood: sad | | Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 | | 4:31 pm |
heh I was killing a little time reading some Fark-forum entries regarding recent reviews on rottentomatoes for the new Hulk movie... Someone calling themselves 'Diogenes' gets the funny quote of the day award. "When asked for his reponse to the early reviews, Director Louis Leterrier was quoted as saying, "Don't make me Ang Lee. You wouldn't like me when I'm Ang Lee." Current Mood: amused | | Monday, June 2nd, 2008 | | 9:38 am |
wheee http://www.goodreads.comThis is a fairly cool page.. Added 190+ books I've read in about half an hour. The hardest part is remembering all the bloody things, hehehe. I'll prolly keep adding to it, tho. Anyways, check it out, good stuffs if you do alot of reading. Current Mood: pleased | | Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 | | 11:47 am |

bwhahahahah The pic links are goofed but this article is still hilarious.. http://www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com/issues/05_02/5_02_space%20winos.htmlI kinda want the magazine, hehehe. Mental Floss had an entry about it in one of their articles.. "'Modern Drunkard' --This magazine lacks a regular publication schedule, although subscriptions are available. Modern Drunkard has been "standing up for your right to get falling down drunk since 1996″ and is staffed by a group of "functional alcoholics." The office includes a bar; typos are common because the proof-readers are "enthusiastic drinkers." Modern Drunkard's layout is modeled after that of men's adventure magazines from the 1950s." Unfortunately the drunken bastards broke the subscription link, hehehhe, but we'll see. Anyways, the article link has to do with the high level of alcoholism and it's benefits in early Star Trek, lol. Funny stuff. Current Mood: amused | | 7:41 am |
bloody tired.. Haven't posted in a bit so a quick-catch up post is in order. The Valentine's trip to the Queen Mary was quite fun. We got to tour the cargo area, engine room, and other places after hours with a 'psychic' that seemed convinced that one of the old, dead shiphands kept staring at me in a particular area. Alas, tho' this ghost was reputed to whack and poke at people no amount of taunting produced a nice, existence-ratifying smack in th' face, but I certainly tried. :) The quarters were pretty awesome, as the room we stayed in had about 85% of the original wood panelling from the 1930s. Through the portholes we had an amazing view of longbeach and best of all, you can smoke in your rooms. Booyah! :) Once I've finished the photobook I'll be sure to link it so ye folks can see, it was really rather gorgeous. That has been the highlight of the year. The rest is rather droll, as I'm working lots of overtime to catch up for both trip-funds expended and a car mishap that required a tow and a hefty 850$ repair bill. D'oh! To further sour my year, May is fast approaching and with it my 35th year of existence, so I'm getting rather dour from that and trying to duck the inevitable 'so what have ye done with yer life, Davil?'-type blues. Yech..
35, who woulda thought it? Ahhwell, surely the adventure isn't over. I certainly miss bouncin' across Europe tho and using my Kipling rucksack as a pillow, hehe. Maybe th' missus and I can save up some vacation time and bounce around China. 'Twill be hotels and a bit less random wandering, but a good jaunt of travelling somewhere exotic and completely new in the next year or two should stay the midlife-crisis beast. Failing China, Europe is still cheap to get to if you plan it out well.. Hmmm.. Something to ponder. Time for me to finish my Pepsi and get to work, yechhh.. Have a nice day, ya Wankers :) | | Friday, December 21st, 2007 | | 1:23 pm |

Got an lj nudge so I guess I haveta post.. meh... Lesse.. Not alot goin' on, plannin' for the holidays, still exercisin', and playing with a German vocabulary builder that's proving rather excellent. Work has been rather slow this week which I have mixed feelings on.. On the good side it's nice not being harangued by corporate wankers, tho on the downside it certainly makes the day drag. Meh. Excalibur re-released a chess set that moves it's own pieces, which is nice as those things were a pain in the arse to find. Last, but certainly not least, I've got the damned 'Fuck you, Clown!' joke stuck in my head. It's one of those high-setup and hideous punchline bits, so I keep elaborating on the story in my head. It's a horrible old yarn but when told properly can actually get some good laughs. It's good to be a hilarious bastard. :) Off to work for me, whee.. You folks have fun. Wheee..... Well, I started perm at McAfee this week. It took quite awhile to finish my background check(3 weeks) and even longer to get my new-hire paperwork processed, but it finally happened and now I just have to decide how to allot my benefits. Yay perm. Career stability goes a long way towards boosting one's spirits. :) On the creative front, I'm about halfway through the horror novel I've been writing. I have to say I'm starting to hate it. I'm targeting a whopping 80,000 words or more for the finished product and I'm currently at almost 40,000. It's a rather interesting process.. I keep a plot synopsis handy, aside from my general outline, and each time I finish a chapter I go to it and make some quick notes about what the hell just happened. I put character names in bold print so that I can make sure I'm not forgetting their development. I also bold turning points in the plot to keep me on track as well. The purpose of this is twofold, essentially it a. gives me a bird's eye view of the 300+ entertaining lie I'm constructing and b. keeps me from having to read back in the chapter itself and correcting the thing to oblivion. The latter is a constant danger, as it's hard not to go back and change everything.. I feel that if I read it before it is finished I'll get unhappy with something and never get to the high points of the story. If I ever finish the damned thing I figure I can always put it away for a couple of months and proofread it then with a fairer, detached perspective. Good times. Happy Holidays, folks! Friends, Went through a bit of a fiasco at court but I've officially taken my grandfather's last name and one of his middle names. I'm waiting on my new Social Security card and still have to visit the DMV, but Dave Mitchell is officially gone. I'll miss the bastard but not o'ermuch, I think...
