Don't waste your money on it.
There's a very interesting discussion on DVD and Blu-Ray on the "Group That Dripped Blood" list and they've been pretty much been saying what i think about Blu-Ray, it's not worth it and it appeals only to the techno geeks.
It's this century's Laser Disc, too pricey and loved only by people who are dazzled by new shiny technology. Blu-Ray is the crappier of the two formats, HD actually was more user friendly and better quality. Blu-Ray is still buggy and not setting the world on fire (contrary to the propaganda you get from web sites shilling for B-R).
Unless you have money to throw away, avoid B-R and stick with DVD (which isn't going away any time soon).
One good thing about the B-R "hysteria" DVD prices are dropping.
Movie fans want their movies and right now our only option is DVD for a good quality format and do really think the studios will ever put most their b movies and cult films on B-R like they do with DVD? |
