Bug Squashing Party - a review
This weekend I mostly spent my time on the Debian BSP I had announced.
We have done a lot of NMUs and have provided patches or solutions for some more bugs, so I think it was going very well. For coordination we used mainly the #debian-bugs channel on irc.debian.org, my little list of targets has also proven very usefull. I'm thinking about moving this page to the Debian Wiki next time, so that updating it doesn't depends on the availability of one single person. The claims page was not so actively used and is IMHO more usefull if you have a lot of people to coordinate (the only case where we indeed did double work was my fault and not directly related to not using the claims page but that I just was to impatient).
One of the participants (a non-DD) asked me, if he could view the contents of the DELAYED queue, so I wrote a little script that accomplishes this and I found it very usefull for me, too. I will keep it online and perhaps even improve it a little.
Credits: Many thanks to the people participating in this BSP, namely Sebastian 'syssi' Muszynski, Marc 'HE' Brockschmidt, Michael 'azeem' Banck, Javier Fernandez-Sanguino Pen~a ('jfs'), John 'belmo' Belmonte and perhaps someone I forgot to mention right now. It was really fun to work with you.
I'm currently considering to announce another BSP for the next weekend but I'm not sure it makes sense after such a short time. Let's see.
