Project name: super-crazy-easy skirt of sweet frilly easiness (x2)
Progress: the blue skirt needs only the waistband! some of the pintucks and lace turned out crooked on one side, but, heck, it's my first try with this style. it's not too noticeable, and i think it still looks pretty darn good. i'm setting my modified deadline for the 10th, in preparation for my birthday party. blue 80%, pink 10%.
Problems encountered that halted progress: first time making a half-elastic waistband.
Ways considered to solve the problem: draw diagrams and write instructions so that i don't think i know what i'm doing and end up doing it backwards, like i generally do. =P i'm pretty sure that it will be WAY easier than a full-elastic waistband, though! (they frustrate me!)
Questions for the community: none.

today we went shopping at Goodwill. i had to use my own money, so i didn't get to buy as much as i would have liked. ._.' but here's what i got:

- bed sheet for costume fabric
- 2 blouses, 1 blue and 1 pink, to modify for lolita
- pink long-sleeved T-shirt to receive a BtSSB-esque print (inspired by the "Fairly Sweet Cherry" cutsew)
- pink zip cardigan
- dusty rose winter coat for only $6! yes!

i had to pass up some bed skirts, including one with card suits on it that would have made an excellent piece for an Alice outfit, and a fantastic tablecloth that would have made a nice jacket-dress. maybe i'll be lucky another time...

i made a little more progress on the skirts today, too. i also fixed up an ivory double-sidebow headband. i feel that i'm making good progress on my wardrobe. ^_^ <3

tomorrow's missions: homework and some cleaning. *determined* so i'm going to bed a little earlier than i usually do on Saturdays (and because i got sleepy watching Bones).

Teger says i should cosplay Gackt sometime. just not Illuminati, please? XD

Progress: fabric cut for both skirts. first row of ruffle cut and pinned for blue skirt. 2 rows of beading lace + ribbon woven and cut for blue skirt. matching blue ponytail bows completed. blue 30%, pink 10%.
Problems encountered that halted progress: not enough pink ruffle trim available at the shop.
Ways considered to solve the problem: buy it later.

Project name: semi-sweet rose skirt and headdress (i think)
Progress: fabric cut. lace cut and pinned.
Problems encountered that halted progress: deciding what type of design to use. not getting exactly the lace i wanted.
Ways considered to solve the problem: i plan to use this skirt as my inspiration.
Questions for the community: the fabric is a classic color of pink. i'm thinking about dyeing the lace to a more antique white.

i've been thinking that despite my crazy "MUST MAKE ENTIRE LOLITA WARDROBE OVER SUMMER!" attitude, it hasn't happened and it's not really practical to worry about it. ._.'

APRONS, however, are quite practical. -^_____^- hopefully i can whip up a cute one before my birthday so i can horde candy into it.

progress has been made on the blue skirt. yay! but i need to buy new fabric for the Mew Mew costume and some thinner lace. i tend to have a "the bigger, the better" attitude when it comes to lace, it seems. i might get some broader eyelet lace, too. i kind of... have no idea what i'm doing about the rose skirt. i've been ogling this design, but it means i need to buy buttons and cover them and learn how to make button holes. or, i already have a matching zipper. *shrug* i'll figure it out, i suppose. maybe i'll put in the zipper and the buttons will be decorative. i'll probably end up with the blue skirt halfway finished before i get stuck on it, too. but the matching hair ties are already done since all i had to do was sew some bows from Wall-2-Wall-Mart onto ponytail holders.

there are all kinds of projects going through my head, but i seriously need to start focusing on the shop. i still have lots of work to do!

getting an L Nendoroid, yay. if i get commissions i will be getting my Loveless fasteners back (i had some on my cellphone, which i then promptly lost somehow) as well as the shitajiki i've been looking for.

unfortunately ouran_host doesn't like my sales posts. if i don't get anything today i may try posting it in some more different comms, too. also i need to see if i can use PayPal to upgrade my CafePress account.

i've decided i'm going to do some small commissions for the time being because i have no money in my PayPal account and i wanna buy some stuff. ^_^ i'm just starting with this, so please keep in mind that i may expand this within the next few months, in case you want one colored. also, if you get a sketch or inked piece now, you can get it colored later and just make up the cost.

i spent a little too much time around my ex today. it didn't bother me at the time, but now she's on my mind. and after we read poetry by Keats, too. anyway there's a new girl in art club and she seems nice. today there wasn't a large group, just me, Teger, SpookyKumquat, and new girl, and we went through magazines and snatched nice pictures for collages and such.

there should be some cello photos on my DA now, but it's being stubborn...

cosplaying Mello today was really fun. i basically ended up making the whole club anticipate my arrival while i spent forever getting dressed, so then they laughed when i swaggered in munching a chocolate bar. XD er, pictures didn't happen today, but i will get some shots of the cello tomorrow and we're planning to dress Wammy again closer to Halloween because Teger doesn't want to dress up (even though she wears that striped jacket EVERY DAY), to take videos and make an MV. the staircase in the school and the outside will be perfect. X3

we got only a few new faces, but every little bit counts. usually lots of people come on the second meeting because the first was too short-notice. hm, how to dress next week?

tegerah's most ingenious idea for the first Anime Club meeting of the year was to cosplay the Wammy's kids according to our rank in the club. therefore, Panda (president) is Near, i (vice president) am Mello, and Teger (secretary/treasurer) is Matt. so, i painted my nails black last night (since i don't have black gloves) for my Mello cosplay tomorrow. i'm really stupidly excited. there will be photos. anyway, having dark polish on my nails again after so long feels really strange. i'll take it off tomorrow evening.

i also got my hair cut. i love it so. ~<3 it's a big change, so it's kind of weird, but honestly it's easy to get used to new cuts now that i've worn wigs so much for cosplay. i look forward to what people will say tomorrow. X3 i think it will transition well into Kio's cut. my mom says i should try wearing a school uniform style with horn-rimmed glasses, and honestly, i think it would work. hopefully soonish i can get Kio's glasses from the almighty dollar store.

i'm working on some painting for my cello project. i really need some new brushes. ._.' reeeeally tiny ones. the one i have is almost ruined, i've used it so much (and it was kind of cheap).

i finished the modification on my skirt! and i started on a poster for my psychology class that totally looks like a sci-fi movie poster. pictures are to be expected.

and my icon is cuuuute! it's an illustration from Closet Child's (the doujin circle, not the gothic & lolita resale shop) calendar. methinks it expresses me well. =3 *omnom*

and my brother woke up humming "The Third Music Room" from Ouran. XD

PhobosMercury's party was fun. i drew a little picture for Near's birthday, but it's lame. PM got a shiny new drawing tablet, and she let me play with it. unfortunately, at the present time i'm no better with it than i am with a mouse. she tells me, "don't worry, it just takes practice." T_T
