George Carlin died yesterday. My all time favorite comedian and one of the few people I really and truly admire is dead. This is so depressing.

Mine:
#3 - Is that a wig?
#2 - Is that your real hair color? (not "Is that your real hair?" but "Is that your real hair color?" When I had bright hot pink hair. And they were dead serious. I kid you not.)
AND
#1 - Did that hurt? (The single stupidest and most confusing question I have ever been asked about my hair PERIOD. Because I so totally plucked my hair out of my head strand by strand and re-inserted purple hairs strand by strand with a crochet needle. @_@ Or possibly ripped off my scalp and sewed on a scalp of fake hair to replace it. *dead*)

So, what are yours? And can you top my #1? hahaha

I've been wanting to watch it since it came out. @_@

Anyway, I really liked the music and the story in general. I heard there were some talks of a Broadway revival and that would be cool. I am very much wanting to find soundtrack now, thank you. hehe

Jennifer Hudson is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and is further proof that since Year 3 American Idol has been rigged.

Kelly deserved to win 'cause country girl can sing. Reuben deserved to win 'cause big man can sing (though I had wanted Clay to win and really thought he should have, but they were both so good it was hard to choose).
Since then no one that has won has deserved to. Fantasia? wtf? I thought the country was over their Macy Gray phase (what a horrific voice SHE had). Then that whatsherface country chick who was hocking M&M's after she won. I think she won a CMA or something, but who the fuck cares? Since when is American Idol a platform to choose the next country music star? Let's not even talk about Taylor Hicks. Please. Please. Let's not EVER talk about Taylor Hicks. x_X Jordan is okay, but that other black girl (the one with no neck, I can't remember her name) was fucking awesome and it's bullshit she didn't win.
I don't know who's won other years I wasn't paying attention and frankly I don't care because chances are they weren't the most talented one in the top ten or twelve or however many it is these days.
At this point I only watch the American Idol auditions 'cause they're fucking funny. Once it hits the actual competition I know there's no point in watching and getting attached to the one that can ACTUALLY sing because I know that the one person who has real talent will not be the one who wins.
It's all a sham, people. A total sham.
Or else everyone in this country is just really shallow and really tone deaf.

Maybe it's a bit of all three.

Anyway, Dreamgirls. Finally watched it. Good movie. I approve. I actually got a little tear-y during one of the songs Beyonce sang on her own. It was really beautiful. And I used to love Destiny's Child and I really like her and her voice. I just don't like her solo stuff. Damn shame. Wasting that talent on trash. I say if you can't find decent songs to sing, just act girl, 'cause you good at that, too. mmm-hmmm

Even though I've only written a couple of fics with these two, the plot bunnies are forever bouncing around in my head in regards to them.

My heart is full of love for the random and accidental pairing of Shou x Yasuno. As soon as I finish these request fics (Hello? This is Psy calling for Motivation. Is it in? No? Can you have Motivation call me back ASAP? It's kind of important!) I'm going to bust out lots of them... and all my Reita x Kai ideas. Man they're trying to give Shou & Yasuno a run for top OTP. hahaha 'Course, Shaisuke x Yukari is #1 forevers, but I'm talking about #1 that is appropriate and acceptable and not disgustingly rude & disrespectful to write. *cough*

Since this is the first time this journal will be seeing this post, I will explain for those of you that are new (old-timers feel free to skip):

On December 13, 2002 one of my very best friends passed away. We were closer than sister for 9 years of our lives and she meant more to me than I can possibly say. Sasha was there for me through everything. She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, she was my biggest fan, she was the anchor that kept me from drifting away, she was the one person that could hold me when I was at my lowest and tell me that everything would be okay and I would believe her. I felt that as long as I had her, everything would be okay. If you've ever heard the phrase "Love means never having to say you're sorry" that kind of describes our friendship. We fought a lot, and over really stupid things sometimes, but we rarely ever said sorry to one another. We didn't need to. We just knew. It's hard to explain, but it's like we had an unspoken language that didn't need words because we just understood each other.

When I lost her it shattered me. Five-and-a-half years later and I'm still trying to pick up the pieces. But I'll never be whole again. There's an emptiness in me that will always remain because her love, her laughter, her companionship aren't here to fill it. I know she's still with me in a way and that I'll never be without her, but... it's not the same as hearing her voice or seeing her smile or giving her a hug when one of us needs it.

I have vowed to keep her memory alive so that she'll always be with me, so that she won't be forgotten, and so that people will know this wonderful, loving person existed. My body is a testament to our friendship and the love we had for one another: the tattoo over my heart that I got on her birthday six months after she died - Sailor Mars' symbol (her favorite Sailor Scout) and the words "Forever Love" and the five purple stars on my arm (purple being her favorite color; one star for each year since she passed).

And this: the song I wrote for her a few months after she died. My tribute to her. I have, since I wrote this song in early 2003, posted it twice a year - on the anniversary of her death and on her birthday - without fail. I will continue to do so until LJ (or online blogging in general) dies or I do, whichever comes first. It's just another way for me to remember her and to remind the world that she was here.

Yoshiki is going to just completely cripple himself one of these days. I don't even care that the shows are being postponed (though I know a lot of people are being extremely selfish and bitching and whining about it ><); I just care that he gets the proper medical treatment and gets well. But, fuck, I wouldn't be surprised if the man needed back surgery with how he's been ignoring doctor's orders and abusing himself. And that... I don't even want to think about that.

Someone please tell him he's an old man and he needs to take it easy. Seriously. *sigh* I hope more information is released soon.
