Due to all of the hotlinking and stealing of my icons by Xanga members lately, I've decided I really must create a friends-locked community. I hate doing this, honestly, because I fear that many people just won't bother to join, and that it's going to really reduce the number of visitors I get (and I do love sharing my icons). However, I'm taking the advice of a few good friends. I can't see any other way to remedy the situation, unfortunately.
So, I've created a new community at ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) dawn_icons2. Everyone who has friended my icon journal should be receiving an invite by email to join this new community. If, for some reason, you don't receive one, please feel free to go to the info page and join. Everyone is welcome. If you like my icons and graphics, please tell others and have them join as well. :)
This icon journal will remain in tact so you will be able to find my old icons, but it will not be updated. All of my new graphics will be posted at the community. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you will all join.

Thank you to everyone who complained about all of the hotlinkers on Xanga. Many of the sites have been shut down, either by their owners, or by Xanga staff. I had my own triumph this afternoon. I had been posting comments to my main offender, asking her to take down my icons or to at least upload them to her own server, and to please give me credit. I kept being ignored and my comments were deleted. Some friends got involved too, with the same outcome (thanks, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) watchersprout!). So we sent complaints to Xanga. It appears their journal has been shut down. Woo!
If any of you are still having problems with situations like these, let me know, and I'll do what I can to help out. Whether it's complaining to Xanga for you or just posting a comment in the journals. Reporting these people DOES make a difference! :D

Attention all icon makers/collectors/appreciators: I need your help. Earlier today, whitemocca and woodmaid_icons brought it to my attention that my icons (as well as those of several other icon makers on LJ) have been stolen and posted in various xanga accounts. Now, I wouldn't mind so much, were it not for the fact that these people give no credit, and many of them claim the icons as their own. Almost all of them are hotlinked as well, which as most of you know, totally eats up bandwidth. I'm very perturbed by this. I even set up an account there just so I could post comments in various xanga journals berating them for their actions. I've spotted my icons at:

I'm asking that if you see ANY icons you recognize as belonging to someone other than the person posting them, to please let the icon makers know. I love making icons, and I love sharing them, but I can't stand when someone steals someone else's work and doesn't give credit where it's due. If you find sites with other people's work, please harrass these people and tell them that what they're doing is wrong.
Also...if anyone knows of a good program or script where I can either track who's hotlinking, or link to a different graphic that basically prevents my icons from showing up, I would be extremely appreciative (a couple people have already done this, and their replacement graphics make me smile). :)
I always try to give credit where it's due, even when people say it's optional. It's only right. All I expect is the same in return, and I don't think that's too much to ask. I want to keep this an open journal. I would hate to have to lock it to Friends-Only. It's a pain in the arse, and far too much hassle than it's worth. Thank you to everyone in advance.

I find this quite amusing...
I happened to be looking through the hp_awards community this afternoon, just for something to do, and I was amazed to discover that I had won an award! For an icon I hadn't even known was nominated. Well, needless to say, I'm quite honored, although I do wish someone had told me about it. ;)

I decided to take a quick break from Narnia and go back to my other obsession--Harry Potter. These icons are all from Sorcerer's Stone and are a slight deviation from my normal coloring styles. I guess you could call them experimental. Also included are several black and white. There are 90 icons in all.

I just finished up a batch of 117 icons. Phew! These are all from Narnia, done in about 4 different styles. There are torn paper effects, black and white, heavily bordered, and simple. All of these have a sort of brownish tint to them. Much love was put into their creation, so I hope you'll like them. :)

Shortly after my last post, it seemed the server came up again. I've given it some time, and all of the icons are still showing, so I believe things are back to normal here. If any icons go missing, it's most likely due to the server being down temporarily again, but hopefully things are fixed now. :)

Apologies to anyone trying to access my icons at the moment. Some of them won't be showing up for a bit while my website is being migrated to a new server. I'm hoping they'll have it up and running very soon. There are many posts here that should still be working fine, since my earlier icons are hosted through ScrapBook. Anyways, thanks for your patience, and I'll post another announcement once things are back up.
