Random stuff

Got back yesterday from a visit to see [info]helenwhat and[info]the_scifiboy and their lovely new flat. Had a lovely time apart from getting a cold and feeling like death for most of the visit.

I start my new job in September, very excited about that. Spig on the other hand found out today that he wont have a job in November. We're trying to see it as a positive thing but he's understandably a bit bummed out about the whole thing.

Am currently looking for a big poofy petticoat to go with a dress I brought last week, the only ones I can find though are either too short or just too expensive.

Just finished watching Firefly and rewatching Serenity, I want more! Sulk.

I can't believe I'm still editing holiday photos.

Spig's getting big muscles in his arms, I'm not sure how I feel about this. Though I am really happy that he's enjoying his climbing.

Recently, Looking forward to, Hair cut.

Lately I have mostly been taking and editing photos, playing Lego Star Wars with Spig on the Xbox 360, playing Lego Indiana Jones on my DS, reading lots of Paranormal Romances (Vampire/Werewolf porn), getting a sore back and sore eyes doing my cross stitch (black stitching on a black background!!!!) and watching Battlestar Galactica on DVD with Spig. Which all sounds a lot more geeky than I expected it to.

I am looking forward to Diablo 3 with unparalleled expectation and excitement, Diablo 2 was the first game I ever played where I killed stuff (if you don't count sending people off half built rides in Rollercoaster Tycoon). I am also looking forward to 3 more weddings this year (this time next year I'll be the only unmarried person I know). Oh and my back tattoo, I am really, really looking forward to getting the bugger finished, hopefully this year.

I finally caved a few weeks ago and got all the hair that was fried from too much bleaching cut off. I am very much loving my new hair cut. Thinking some new piercings might be in order soon and maybe even some dermal implants as I've seen Angel's and they are the cuteness!

PS. I really want a Wii and a Wii fit (please refrain from making urine related jokes)

Update and photos

Last weekend was fun, nice seeing everyone at Tammy's and getting to see the kitties again. This weekend is another busy one with Sara's hen night on Saturday and going with Tammy for her first tattoo on Sunday. And then it'll only be a week till we go on holiday with my parents to the peak district, looking forward to that sooo much.

My job hunting goes on, although I'll be going back to my previous place for a bit to help out as my old bosses child is ill in hospital and they need a hand.

Righty, must go find something productive to do.

Shakes, Springs and Work

The earth quake last night was interesting, it seemed initially that someone was violently banging on our front door and then the whole room started to shake. The stupid thing is that even though this is the second earth quake I've experienced my mind automatically assumed it was a mad man trying to get into the flat and kill us and the thought that it was just an (eerily quiet) earth quake didn't even pass my mind. Silly me.

Does anyone know someone who wants a mattress? We have a good sprung king sized mattress also with a very good mattress pad. We'll probably put it on ebay if no ones does want it.

Just had some good news, I have a months trial at a shop in Yardley, it will be mostly admin but there will be some photography and design work as well. I start work on Monday :)

Tue, Jan. 29th, 2008, 11:48 am

We are moved in and feeling very comfortable, trying not to think about the room still full of boxes. We won’t have the internet or phone until Monday unfortunately, so I'm back at my parents doing this right now.

I found out earlier today that because I have moved in with Spig and he works full time that they won’t be giving me Job seekers allowance any more. Will be going into all the temp places I can find in Birmingham tomorrow before my tattoo at 3:00. I'm getting really fed up with applying for jobs and not even getting through to an interview. Am I really that unemployable?

Helen: I love the hats, adorable.

Hazel: I don't think that is the house across from us but it is just round the corner, what beautiful rooms! I think this might be the one across the road. http://212.50.188.106/cgi-win/vebra.cgi?details1?src=agent&PropertyCode=1194001/LONSD/18524/1

New Flat and Moving.

So... we have a flat, we have the keys and we have a moving date, 2 in fact, this Saturday we'll be moving small stuff in cars and the Saturday after (26th) we have a van and will be moving all the big stuff (many thanks to those who have offered to help, we love you). On the Wednesday after (the 30th) I have another 3 hour appointment with Dawnii to start the second part of my tattoo.

We are slowly sorting out things like contents insurance and council tax (head ache) and I started packing my things into boxes today. Trying to be ruthless and throw out things I don't really need, it might be a bit of a tight squeeze getting all mine and Spig's stuff into the flat.

I think I'm going to miss Spig's old place, I've been seeing him since April 2004 and have spent nearly every weekend since then at his place, I will not however miss having to pack up my things every weekend to go visit him, it'll be nice to have all my stuff in one place and not have to plan ahead what I'm going to wearing for 3 days.

Anyway here are some photos I took the other night to give you an idea of what it's like (the photos are a bit crap, I apologise in advance). It's a bit of a shell at the moment but I think it'll look fine once our furniture is in.

inside this way )

For those I haven't already told it is a first floor flat in Harborne, it has 2 bed rooms, although the 2nd will probably just be a gaming room for Spig. It's underfloor heated which might take some getting used to and it has a garage for me to park my car in. The other thing that might take some getting used to is not living with my parents, I'm such a mommy's girl that it's going to be very strange not having her around to talk to whenever I want. I've promised we'll go back for Sunday dinner every now and then, I'm just glad our place isn't too far from my parents.

Nothing else to report. Over and out.

Mon, Jan. 7th, 2008, 11:35 am

There's something about stroking a cat sitting on my lap whilst I'm sitting at my computer that makes me feel like an evil villain.
Checking my emails? No I'm planning to take over the world.

House hunting, Christmas and New Year.

Me and Spig are going to look at some houses to rent on Saturday, 3 in fact, hopefully we'll find one that's right for us. It's slowly sinking in that we will actually be living together in a few months time... scary stuff.

Christmas was fun, got to see all of Spig's family at a big meal and got to see his sisters dogs (was going to say his sisters puppies but that just sounds wrong). We spent about 2 hours going through a big draw of photos in his parents room, found lots of photos of Spig from very young and blond with glasses to older and with really long hair *sigh*. There was even a mullet photo which I really wanted to bring back and scan but I think he'd kill me.

New years was quiet but very pleasant, just me and Spig, my Mom and Dad, Jodie and Chris. We watched some tv and my new Ross Noble DVD.

I'm looking forward to this year, it should at very least be interesting.

Tattoo, Christmas and living with Spig

I got my back piece started today, 3 hours of pain later and it's about 1/4 done. The outline was a breeze but the filing in was hell, I'm such a wimp. There's a little more colouring in to be done on this section and then the rest of it to be started. The thought of how much more time, money and pain it's going to take before it's finished is a little daunting at the moment.

Nothing else to report really, all my Christmas presents are brought and just need wrapping now. Looking forward to spending Christmas with Spig even if I'm not looking forward to the drive to Wales as much.

When Christmas is done and dusted me and Spig are going to start house/flat hunting as his landlord wants to have sold the place Spig's at now by March. I'm sure I'm much more excited than Spig is about this, a few reasons being that he's already lived with a girlfriend before where as I haven't, also for Spig this means a lot of sorting out of all his stuff... he has a LOT of stuff. After three and a half years together I think it's about time we tried the living together thing.

Whitby Photos

Got around to putting up some photos from Whitby, one of these days I'll get around to taking some photos of what WGW is really like, how it feels to be surrounded by a load of goths for a whole weekend.

Last weekend we went to London, it was bad, good and bad in turns. The coach we were going to take down drove off without us, so my parents very kindly drove us down. At least they got to see Helen and Gav and their home. Was really good to see everyone, it doesn't seem fair that we only get to see such good people so little. Good food was had and geekyness was talked. We then missed the coach back because of a big street festival in Southall that stopped the bus we were on getting to the coach stop, Once again parents were called for and bess them, they came and picked us up. Driving us back was another nightmare, it was snowing and it seems no one can drive in snow, people were all over the place, mind you, being on their mobile phone probably didn't bloody help.

This weekend, we're off to the Newt on Saturday and then on Sunday we're going to Memorabilia. There are also a load of films I'd like to see but I'm not sure I'm gonna get the chance.

It's late, I should go to bed.

Whitby, haircut, London.

So, what have I been up to recently? Well Whitby was fun fun fun. As always a great chance to spend time with lovely people and get all dressed up. The week after was lovely too, had a chance to see a bit more of the area than the weekend usually allows for.

I got a hair cut last Friday, not 100% happy with it but it'll do for now. I'm trying to grow it long but I'll probably get bored and have it all chopped off before it gets there.

I've been feeling a bit low recently, lack of work and money combined with a nasty rumour that Christmas is fast approaching. My attention span seems to be non existent recently, I don't seem to be able to get into anything or get anything finished. My get up and go got up and went :(

Friday me and Spig are off to see Helen, Gav, Nat and Timo in London, it's been far too long and I'm really looking forward to it.

I have some photos from Whitby, might post them if I have time/can be arsed.

Think bed and a book now.

Mon, Oct. 22nd, 2007, 10:06 pm

Got a phone call earlier, I have an interview tomorrow, for a job as an image retoucher in the Jewellery Quarter.

Wish me luck.

What do you think Helen, have George at the wedding in a Yoda costume?

Stardust and Whitby

We're off to see Stardust tomorrow morning, maybe followed up by Chinese food. Hope it lives up to the book.

This week will mostly involve getting ready for a week in Whitby. Have to say it'll be strange having the parental unit and Chris and Jodie with us for this WGW. Even stranger moving from the b&b after the weekends up on the Monday and into the house the others have for the rest of the week.

When I get back there will be decisions to be made, not looking forward to that so much...

2 things

I'm booked in to have my back tattoo started on the 13th December. I'm excited to say the least.
I hit 70 last week, I'm now saving like mad for my flying mount.

For those that don't know.

Back in August a girl was beaten and died because she was alternative.

I doubt it will make a difference but it shows that we care and I think that's important.

Weddings, picture, shopping.

I've been to more weddings this year than I have the rest of my life put together, next year is looking to be heavy weddings wise as well with friends who are now engaged. My brother and Jodie are married now, making her Mrs Earp, which is strange... cuz that's my mom. Nick my brother's best man was married to Mary a few months later and last weekend I shot my first wedding, that of Jacko and Tracey. Sara and Peet's wedding is next year and Helen and Gav got engaged at the start of the month. I'm feeling a little jealous to be honest, but more than that I'm really looking forward to a day when Spig asks me to move in with him.

On a unrelated note, I'm going into Brum this week to make an appointment to get my back piece started. Very excited about that, I even went shopping yesterday to try and find a top with the back cut so that you'll be able to see my tat, didn't happen though as I couldn't find anything. I also couldn't find any black pencil skirts either, I feel like I lost at shopping :(

Off to play some Warcraft now, want to level for the Ramparts tonight.
