"I'm going to the Middle East," Dramesi says. "Turkey, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iran."
"Why are you going to the Middle East?" McCain asks, dismissively.
"It's a place we're probably going to have some problems," Dramesi says.
"Why? Where are you going to, John?"
"Oh, I'm going to Rio."
"What the hell are you going to Rio for?"
McCain, a married father of three, shrugs.
"I got a better chance of getting laid."
Make-Believe Maverick A closer look at the life and career of John McCain reveals a disturbing record of recklessness and dishonesty
This is a mind blowing MUST read!
The man has wrecked three airplanes, graduated 894 out of a class of 899. He spent the majority of his self proclaimed, "four year course of insubordination" on probation but dodge expulsion twice because his father and grandfather were four star commanders.
I won't even tell you his POW experience.
my goodness. READ!

Just in case you missed Sarah Palin's performance tonight during the Vice Presidential debates. I put together something nice that should summarize her points.

. . The Chevy Volt. GM's second production electric vehicle. Hopefully they don't pull these off the market and compact them too.
CNN articles here and here.
I know i was all about the hydrogen fuel cell car that's available for lease now. That was up until i watch a little film called Who Killed The Electric Car.
Double You Tee Eff isnt a strong enough exasperation. Long story very short. We've had/HAVE the technology power ability whatever to make zero emissions, more than reasonably efficient cars that you can "gas up" in your own garage for PENNIES to the "gallon." We did it, they were on the market and then destroyed. A little car called the EV1
I used to think that we needed some kind of government crack down. A real Manhattan Project of scientist working around the clock to solve our oil dependency problem. Now i realize the only problem is too many powerful people rather LIKE us being dependent on oil. HAHA duuuuuuuuh!
I've come to learn that hydrogen fuel cell vehicals are a freakin joke. Even if we DID get our electricity from yucky coal, we'll still be volumes better off than gasoline or hydrogen.
Electric is the way to go and we'll see how this turns out...again.

I'll join the bandwagon just in case you haven't seen this:
I wear my Obama pin on my collar everyday. Personally I don't care if Palin believes Dinosaurs were around last week or if Barack believes the "O" in his logo leads to a place where magical fairies live. I'm just sick of the way the health care in this country is set up and something needs to be done about it. That's something that effects you no matter how deep your pockets are OR your stance on the war.

I just Purchased, You Will Never Grow Old And You Will Never Die dot com What else could you expect after watching Inteview With the Vampire two nights in a row and four beers under my belt. I can't believe it was available.
It will serve as my design portfolio and official blog. I'll be keeping thewhiteleaf.com strictly for professional illustration and sketchbooks.
This way when potential clients see the respective sites they know where my interests lie.
commence with off-colour vampire jokes...now!

ok it only took all day with a mess of photoshopping and coding but the website is now revamped.
You should find everything no less than 200px wider with clearer navigation.
I couldn't make all the images larger because i'm still suffering from the great hard drive crash of 2008!!!!! (if you're reading this back up your back ups now!) Ive got some Russians looking at the drive now and hopefully it will only cost me $350 to get the only copies of every piece of art i've ever created back.
http://thewhiteleaf.com
still needs some tweaking here and there but whatcha think?

Yeah well so what if:
I've been to IKEA, Brooklyn 3 times in one week.
The staff recognize my wife and I; they greet us with warm welcomes like, "OOOOoohh I know you two know what you're doing...and BACK AGAIN!"
Believe in the power of a well design 375sq/ft loft.
Believe in the power of rear wheel swiveling shopping carts.
Utter words like Karsten, Summera and Stolmen with giddy delight.
Can't envision my world without a shelving system with a height adjustable from 82 5/8-129 7/8", which allows you to utilize the entire ceiling height. God bless you Ehlén Johansson.
Can transport, unpack and put together a room of flat-packed furniture faster than you can bake a cake.
At no point think to myself ok let's get everything we need now so we don't have to come back.
Some of you are thinking IKEA eeeeewww I can't stand going to that place it's so crowded. Well you know what? Keep it to yourself. You're the same people that complain about the taste of beer. You're missing the point entirely!
I've seen what less than 150 bucks, some God-Crafted Swedish Designers and a blond wife can do. They took a few containers, a couple of book shelves, some furniture i didn't even know existed and ushered in a new era.
For that I will GLADLY put up with a screaming child, confused patron that hasn't grasped how the show-room system works or employees that just don't care. There's a sleek apt back home that has a few square feet that i just HAVE TO MAKE USE OF SOME HOW and hot meat balls and mash waiting for me downstairs in the cafeteria.

After a four year break I decided it was about time I learn today's web design. My old roommate and friend Drew Lee recommended a great book and I dove right into it.
The above is the fruit of my labour. Nothing mind blowing but I'm proud of it. It began with a few bang-your-head-against-the-wall moments and for while i thought "how can anyone do this for a living?!" Of course those feelings wore off as i got the hang of things. Soon the markup transformed from abstract characters on a screen into simple ingredients of the cake i want to bake. During the last day of development i sat for 14hrs straight tweaking and nitpicking, I thought that was something only painting could get me to do.
Speaking of long hours, I went from having one meager job in 2007 to having four jobs in 2008; I'm always working.
On a final and related note it appears Medina and Kristi found an apt in Bushwick. If the deal gets seaedl my two year long wait will come to a close. I'll be getting married and moving to Brooklyn!!!!

So I saw Mirror Mask yesterday... i dun lernt to downloads the movies herrrherrr.
Nonsensical plot and soundtrack aside we're left with the effects. They're not quite Steam Punk not really Cyber
They fit snugly into what i call the Computer-Animation-Sr-Thesis-Weirdness category. Taken at face value technically something is happening for some kind of reason. When all is said and done you're left with a puzzled gross feeling that can only be relieved by knowing what you just saw will never happen in real life.
This kind of imagery is the emo angst filled song equivalent of a someone that got their hands on Maya. You imagine the brainstorming session at one point filled the air with, "Oh man this is gonna look so cool!" Possibly lots of scribbling on an innocent sketchbook.
Still not ringing any bells? Don't know if you've just been subjected to above? I'll try to break it down with some simple questions.
Was there anything at any point even remotely related to Circus life? Answering yes to this question trumps all others and you need not read any further.
Was the majority of the film done in desaturated earth tones? Think the colour of wet dust.
Did things grow out of the ground because someone activated something that seemed nonthreatening? This could be done by simply touching something but a flower is usually the culprit.
Tendrils in SPADES! (see above)
Was the plant life eating something cute and cuddly?
Were the cute and cuddly eating something large and nasty?
Did you feel like you should be at awe of how much disheveled architecture there is or that at just grew out of nowhere?
Was the protagonist a little girl?
Finally, were all the highlights glowing bright as hell even though everything else looked like you were viewing it through 40 year old coke bottle?
Answering yes to one or more of these questions means there is a good chance you just saw the rebellious creations of an artist that likes black clothing...a lot!
