Calvin and Hobbes.
I saved these two kitties from abusive owners, so now they're mine! My sister and I named them Calvin and Hobbes.

Lileh.
Have you ever ate so much that you threw it all up afterwards? I'm feeling like that right now. And I have food coma too, so I might fall asleep will throwing up. *ded*

Ooh, I have a video of Lily. She's so cute. Please excuse the nasty room and underwear and background music. I was folding laundry when Lily viciously attacked my pants.

Video.
Okay, screw embedding because I guess LJ doesn't want to cooperate with Photobucket and I don't want to use YouTube. Here is a video of me with braces. It's my last video since I'm getting the braces off in a month or two. How exciting is that?? I just wanted to record a video because I'm not going to remember what I look like with braces a year from now and I haven't taken a lot of pictures where I'm smiling and showing them off because I'm so self-conscious about how bad they look.

I was rambling. I'm so sorry. I got really nervous and I just started talking about stupid stuff. But now you know what I look like! AND I talk like a valley girl :(

Testing. Testing. 1-2-3.

Can someone teach me how to embed videos from Photobucket into LJ? I used the embed html tag they gave me, but LJ just deletes the code from the entry after I post the entry. Or does Photobucket not work with LJ when it comes to videos?

Revamping.
I've revamped my journal's [info]dark_soul_lost and my community's [info]midsummer_wind layouts and my community's profile page, with help, of course, because I wouldn't have been able to do this myself. I love the layouts. They're both so pretty.

Girly stuff.
I was at Target yesterday and saw the Wet 'n Wild makeup brand with all their cheap makeup and I couldn't resist getting two kohl eyeliners in cool green and dark blue. They're so pretty and only 99 cents! I've been short on money for a year now and this was so cheap I couldn't resist, especially since I've been used to spending $18 on one eyeliner before. With a good base, the eyeliners look wonderful. Wet 'n Wild's eyeshadows are nicely pigmented too. I think I'm going to be a fan of this brand from now on.

Bandwagons.
I find a lot of LJ fans out there disappoint me. I'm not talking about people who are fans of LJ, but rather fans of movies, graphic, etc. that are on LJ.

What disappoint me the most is the fact that most of them are in the high school frame of mind. You know, the I'll-conform-to-the-rules-of-the-queen-bee-or-whoever's-popular-without-question kind of thing.

For example, a few years ago, there was a big boom about using tiny text as decoration for icon making. It was great for awhile, and it's still good now, but I don't get why it's so amazing. If you're an icon maker, can't you make your own tiny text? It's so simple and easy. No one can read it, so you can curse your enemies to death and no one would know. Instead, people vigorously download tiny text brushes that others have made.

I have two problems with this. First, tiny text is easy to make, as I've stated above. Second, if someone popular post a set of tiny text brushes, no matter how boring it is, hundreds of people will comment and say it's the most amazing thing they've ever seen. However, if someone without connection or popularity post a similar set of tiny text brushes, five people will comment.

There are so many icon/brushes/graphic makers out there that are wonderful, and they barely get recognition, only because they don't jump on bandwagons repeatedly just to get a few extra comments. They're the ones that do whatever they want because they have passion about the things they love, and if what they like just happen to be a popular thing at that moment (like Harry Potter), then so be it, but usually, they don't sell themselves short for some bandwagon.

I guess maybe I'm just one of those people that don't jump on bandwagons, and I have friends who are like that who I think make wonderful icons, but they don't get enough recognition. Sure, they don't spew out 20 icons per day, seven days a week, but that doesn't mean they aren't as good or better than other icon makers.

I could always make a set of tiny text brushes and offer them to see if people would leave me comments about how great my brushes are, but I would feel like I'm selling myself short for some comments. I know that my brushes get a lot of downloads, like 400+, even if I only get five comments. And I know why -- because I'm not popular. I don't ask for comments on how great my brushes are. What I want is to know who's using my brushes, and I like to check out their journals because I'm usually bored, and I've met several of my LJ friends this way.

I know my work isn't amazing [yet], but I have pride in what I do nonetheless, and jumping on bandwagons just so I could be a part of the popular crowd, like [info]teh_indy or [info]awmp isn't something I want to do. I'd rather be popular because I did something unique, but in this LJ world full of followers, being unique won't get me far in life. Nevertheless, it won't stop me from making graphics that I like. So what if my only fan on my graphic community is my sister? At least I have a fan.

Dreams can be awesome sometimes.
Two nights ago, I had a dream that I got to make out with this guy who's been my crush since I was 19. Yay.

Then last night I dreamt I fell in love with half-naked Matthew McConaughey.

My bird died.
Last night, she looked stronger. I checked on her this morning around 6 A.M. and she was sleeping, but at 1 P.M., I came back and she was dead (for awhile). I feel so guilty. :'(
