From Sanspo.com:

BURIGURI'S TOMMY AND LEADER OKUDA MARRY

Vocalist of popular unit "The Brilliant Green," Tommy (28, real name Kawase Tomoko) legally married band leader and bassist Okuda Shunsake (32) on Nov 22, and this was reported by their management office on Nov 21. The announcement of Matsui Ryo's (31) [the guitarist] marriage in July of this year was also announced. Though BuriGuri is now in the middle of solo projects, the three of them are great friends, and now they are all married. [picture]

Tommy, a tremendously popular leader in young girls' fashion, had an electrifying wedding. Her husband is fellow band member Okuda Shunsuke. This great couple wed on Nov 22. Their marriage registration was completed by a representative in the city ward office.

Tommy wrote a message through the management office. "I am now married. But this isn't a very unexpected circumstance. Because I've always felt that I would want to get married when I was 28, this feels very natural for me. From now on, I want to wholeheartedly follow my emotions on my musical activity." Okuda also wrote this message: "The three of us have always discussed things together. Our fortunes said that all of us would have a good year with a lot of good things happening to us."

According to the management office, from the time that the two of them debuted in Heisei year 9 (1998) , their talent was instantly recognizable. At first, they were just musical partners, but apparently gradually they fell in love. They say that they began thinking about getting married this year, and started living together. On Nov 14, they told the staff, "we want to get married."

The ceremony, reception, and honeymoon haven't yet been decided, but Tommy said, "I'd like to win the lottery." [not sure about this trans...?]

On the other hand, Matsui married jewelry designer A-san (30) on July 29th of this year. They were introduced 2 years ago, and had the chance to began an acquaintance when he ordered some of A-san's designs. "Because we wanted a fixed date, we decided that that day was good to be legally married," he said.

Because the three of them have been involved in solo activities, rumors of them breaking up have been circulating. Though their marriages have increased these rumors and future activies are uncertain, their management office has clearly said "they are not going to break up." The three of them have also said, "From now, we'll be able to make great music for everyone to listen to."

I don't know how good of an idea it is to marry your own band member. That always seems to lead to bad things. But who knows.

Good night.

I don't know... considering as they are now working on solo projects, there may be less stress. ABBA held it together for ten years in the spotlight, so maybe they can do better.

I was about to say that ^_^; Yeah, tk and Keiko got married...so it's not something that hasn't happened before. Seems to be working out, but then again, this is tk's third marriage so...

I dunno, personally I think marrying someone who works with you is better than marrying someone who isn't when you're a performer...because then you don't have to be seperated for months at a time when they have to go on tours and stuff...you're just right with them ^_^

Hmmm, I was sooo confused! Tommy? I thought it was the guy. and i was like, wow, the wife's older. Then I was like, oh, wait, Tommy's a guy... stupid American me...

I thought this was really funny!!! Tommy's tremendously popular in young girls' fashion!!! Uh, she's 28... is that "young girl?" Although I guess Madonna was when she was 28ish... And i love the "this great couple wed on Nov 22" thing! I dunno, the assumption that "great" applies to them in everyone's minds, or something... And the messages were so awesome!!! Hey! I want to get married when I'm 24! XD And after that, I'll wholeheartedly follow my emotions in my missile silo shifts! ;D After all, it's in my fortunes!!!

I'm sorry, I guess I just think the super-biased reporting style is hilarious, along with the justification of everything because of "our fortunes"... Oh, and the getting married on July 29th because that seems like a good date to set the wedding... uh... isn't that why any couple sets their wedding on a particular date?

XDDDDDD

I hope it works out for them, though! Maybe they'll last a long time, especially if they're going to be making great music for everyone to listen to!

(Note: maybe the 'winning the lottery' thing is kinda like "I'm going to Disneyland" over here...)

This marks the fourth anniversary, more or less, of Ger's LJ. Ger is your ordinary Hong-Kong Chinese, fanfiction-writing, mecha-obsessed Macross fan. I recently moved back home after living in Japan for the past three years, most notably in the very northern prefecture of Aomori, also known as 何もない, which I absolutely loved and hope to return to one day.

I'm an aspiring graphic designer. Running is my favorite sport, and I just finished my first half-marathon and hope to run many more! I like to write, am a huge Japanese music fan, and love the genre of shounen mecha anime. I recently rediscovered the Final Fantasy fandom after about 7 years, and just finished Final Fantasy VII and VIII. Yes, I am slow. Currently I am working on Final Fantasy VI, which I consider the gem of the Final Fantasy series and boasts the proud title of Game with the Best Villain Evar: KEFKA!

I'm also addicted to Triple Triad and Chocobo World. But don't tell anyone.

Current layout from the Final Fantasy VII game and Advent Children, featuring Cid Highwind. Keep on rockin' in Midgar!

TAKE ME BACK TO TOKYO
Initial D

Lovely moments, singing together
Dancing the night away till the morning comes
Every evening we were together
Feeling the way you feel in heaven

Don't know why, tell me that
This is not a dream
This is not a movie plan, you see
And I'm just feelin' like flying
Once again

Take me back to Tokyo baby
Just love and music for me
Take me back to Tokyo
It's the only place I want to be

Back to Tokyo, now and forever
Finally back again to my old friends
Every moment lasting forever
Feeling the way you feel in heaven

Don't know why, tell me that
This is not a dream
This is not a movie plan, you see
And I'm just feelin' like flying
Once again

Take me back to Tokyo baby
Just love and music for me
Take me back to Tokyo
It's the only place I want to be
