What is a 'Listener Guest of Honor?' What responsibilities does a Listener GoH have at a convention?

I'm especially interested in replies from concom members and those who have been a Listener GoH in the past.

This is another of those ideas we don't really have in the UK.

We've had a couple of UK GOHs who are not performers (at least, not in the musical sense - Roger Robinson is certainly a performer when auction time rolls around!), but in that case they did something in lieu of performing (e.g. Roger was interviewed about his favourite music - both filk and non-filk - with recorded examples played in).
