» Week 17, Just before vacation, Horus' Room
A big box wrapped in silver paper with floofy red ribbons is left by Horus' door, with a note reading, "For Horus, from your Secret Santa!"
Inside the box is a large 'schoolboy' type bag made of a durable, heavy, cocoa-colored canvas, with colorful embroidery on the flap reading 'Home Sweet Home'. The bag has durable leather cord lacings along the sides and back, which, when unlaced, add volume to the bag for more capacity. The buckle-straps and shoulder strap are the same color and type of leather, and padding on the shoulder strap makes the bag comfy for long walks.
Inside are copies of Lonely Planet USA and Lonely Planet Canada, and a small zippered case with matching embroidery on one side. It's filled with travel necessities: a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, a tiny bottle of shampoo, a razor, a collapsible cup, a small pocket multi-tool, a package of trail mix, three condoms, and two airplane bottles of 151-proof Bacardi. There's a note tucked into the 'necessities case' inside a cheerful non-religious holiday card, written in red pen. It reads:
'Wherever you may roam, wherever you lay this bag, that's home. Just remember to come back and visit! -Your Secret Santa.'

» Week 13, Thanksgiving at the Caer Schuylkill River
After a long talk with Esther and a whole lot of fussing on the Boggan's part, the three got to sleep comfortably. The next morning, when they wake, she is already fussing over things in the kitchen, and there's a lot of wonderful-smelling things in progress, including pies cooling on the counter and covered dishes stacked and waiting to be taken to their destination.
She calls up the stairs, "Good morning, sleepyheads! Who wants pancakes?"

» Week 9, Monday (10/27), in the hallway before Int. Cantrips
Peri is scooting through the hall en route to Intermediate Cantrips, yelling, "GANGWAY!" She is running at top speed, apparently believing she's late, and plowing through clusters of people. She waves behind her, grinning and calling out, "Sorry!," at a young Eshu lad she knocks over along the way.
She skitters to a cartoonish stop by the door, waiting to spot Valla. Once she does, she calls out, "Hey! Valla!" She waves to the other sidhe, trying to draw her attention. As if Peri yelling is something most people would miss?

» [OOC] Ash/TL/Travis/Our illustrious ST: Oath plans
At this rate, I'm thinking the week after Samhain would be best for doing our Clasped Hands oath threads. Is everyone copasetic with this? I'd like to do the stuff at Caer Schuylkill River in IM if we can all get on together at some point, or just in a thread if need be. I was thinking the party back at school is something we should discuss/plan further OOCly, or ICly if you prefer. I know Peri's nanny would certainly want to cook for the occasion, and possibly be there if allowed.
Midori: Do you want me to run the NPCs at the Caer, or should we discuss things beforehand? I'd rather not make more work for you if I don't have to do so.

» Peri, pre-Samhain/Week 9
Peri's been even more rambunctious of late -- buckets of water dousing students as they exit their dorms, doorways trapped up in 'POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS' tape, stacks of pots arranged so that when someone enters a room, they clatter to the ground in a delicious cacaphony, and shoes gone missing, and then found duct-taped to various spots on campus with signs reading 'HAVE YOU SEEN MY OWNER?' above them are just a small sampling of Peri's exploits. Not that anyone can really pin them on her, but most agree that they seem to be her style. The cat pooka whose shampoo was replaced with purple hair dye was particularly unamused. (But at least it washed out.)
In addition, she's been pretty shameless about PDAs with Tommy Lee, with at least one incident almost resulting in being caught in flagrante delicto on the rim of the fountain. She's been wild, pretty far out of control, and breaking every rule she can without being caught, not to mention encouraging the first- and second-year students to do the same. An incident with a couple of seventh-graders sent on a scavenger hunt for some rather 'unusual' items seems to have raised some eyebrows.
She's also been seen at mail call carrying small boxes with discreet mailing labels up to her room and giggling madly with an almost malicious glee. Perhaps she's addicted to eBay?
In Fencing practice, she's being reckless and giddy, acting like a female Errol Flynn on too much X. She's taking far too much glee in winning, and in showing off in various ways. During her warm-ups, she clowns around in a way that verges on the dangerous. A series of skips and hops up and down the bleachers with live steel being swirled and parried was just one highlight of the performance. The sole exception in practice is Aidan, who she seems to be trying to encourage to her brand of giddiness rather than his growing sadism. Maybe she remembers the remote control incident.

» [OOC] My slowness and Peri's whereabouts...
I think I am finally caught up. I had a busy damn weekend, and wound up posting nearly nothing. Appy polly loggies to folks who were waiting. I should be back to my normal posting speed now.
On a side note: Peri has been quiet in threads lately. The reason for this is that she's ICly been skulking around a lot, doing some eavesdropping, and generally just barely avoiding trouble. (Perhaps planning for Samhain. Perhaps just getting a lot of nookie. Who knows?)

» Sixth Week, Saturday (10/11/2003): Peri's journal.
Peri is curled up in her room early in the day, munching on an English muffin with jelly, sipping from a cup of cocoa. There are plans for later, of course, but fro right now, she's enjoying a moment of quiet and solitude, thinking about the events of recent days. Her journal is open in her lap, and she has a green pen in one hand. As she's thinking, she doodles along the page border absently, little vines trailing around the edges. She mmms, reaching over to grab headphones and tug them on, pressing PLAY on the mp3 player and losing herself in music and thought.
After a brief time of doing nothing more, she begins to write:( Girly journal-y stuff lies beyond )

» [OOC] Rowan and my schedule
I am going in for a very minor surgical procedure today - minor enough that it doesn't need general anesthesia and can be done in the doctor's office. I don't know how I'm going to feel when I get out, and for the next day or two after, so if my posting slows or stops for a day or two, that's why.

» Fourth Week, Tuesday, note to Tommy Lee
In the hallway, during the day, Peri manages to slip a folded note into Tommy Lee's pocket, then skips away gaily, waving. It's written in aqua felt-tip pen on pink paper, the sheet folded into a neat triangle. Once text is unearthed from the origami-esque folds, it reads: Hi, handsome! *kisses*
Writing this from (ugh!) Biology. I like Miss Roeswood but I swear, this class and Cantrips are gonna kill me, no lie. Taxonomy is... ugh. Even the little memory trick she gave us to remember it all only helps so much, because I'm picturing a bunch of princes running around in big huge furry gorilla shoes. Gah. At least it beats Geometry. I'm avoiding that class for another year. Go me.
I was going to ask if you were up to going shopping for gifts for Ash for his birthday later, after class? I have some ideas about what to get, but I figured we could bounce ideas off each other.
Gotta run, see you in Cantrips! *kisses* Perible the Terrible

» Second Week, Thursday: Writing home
Peri is enjoying a rare quiet moment in the sunshine with iced tea and time for thoughts and musings, with so many things happening, so many changes, and so many new people to know. She's found herself settled in atop a large flat rock, in one of the quieter parts of the campus. Like a lizard, she thinks with amusement, The sidhe suns herself on a rock. How... flattering.
Amusement curves her lips upward. She'd been perusing a dog-eared copy of Neverwhere, relaxing, thinking... but at the moment, her attention is on the here-and-now, and not a world away in her book. She tugs a folder from her pack, withdrawing chimerical parchment and colored pens, and chuckles, settling in to write.
( Wherein Peri babbles, schemes, and gushes at length to her Boggan former-nanny. )
She doodles some vines and flowers around the edges in multiple colors, and then carefully folds the stationery to fit into its matching envelope. A blob of Fiona-red wax seals it closed, and a puff of breath helps to dry the wax more quickly. Peri slips the letter carefully into her bag for mailing later, and reaches for her plank. Sitting still too long... time to go. With the skateboard under one arm and her knapsack over the opposite shoulder, she heads back to Where the Fun Is.
